Re: Premiership - 16/17th

Im going to Goodison to see us v Wigan on Saturday. Prices of around 4/6 look about right to me. My prediction will be a tight game ending in a 1-0 victory, I hope we carry on the good scoring though as it makes a nice change!

Re: Premiership - 16/17th

I´ve found a special bet that I think is value:

Carrick not to score (Manu-Arsenal) 1.22 at Pinnacle.

Carrick scored two goals for Tottenham in 64 apperences, and I don´t think his role is more offensive in Manu. He´ll probably score more goals a season with Manu as they score more goals than Tottenham, but still 1.22 represeants value, especially as Manu face Arsenal. If you want a bet that will pay the beer money for the game, then this is it.

Have to say that is a value bet as i would've had that bet price far lower than that i have to say.

Carrick, especially in bigger games like this will be wanted by Sir Alex to hold and sit deeper more than often hence limiting his opportunities at scoring a goal.

Welcome to TDP by the way mate

Yeah mate if those are definitely the right odds then thats a great bet, hes only averaged 1 goal every 25 games or so in his career so even if you think hell double that more or less at Man U then this still should be 1.10 or around that. You have to lump on though but if youre prepare to do so then it is value.

Re: Premiership - 16/17th

Have to say its weekends like this that worry as me as there are plenty of games that interest me this week

Portsmouth at 2/1 + at the minute has to interest anyone considering how well they are playing at the minute.

Good solid backline now consisting of ex england internationals so its a decent standard.

Harry is a manager i have always liked as he plays the game how it should be played.

Not checked up on Chartlons form mind but its def an interest this early on.

Boro too maybe? Bolton haven't convinced me at all so far this season and took a last minute pen to beat a poor Watford side last time out.

Southgates got Boro going very well at the minute and the signing of Woodgate is a superb coup for them. They have a solid all round squad and should be more than a match for Bolton. Possibly best to stick with the handicaps mind.

Hard to see by Everton isn't it and that price is about right. Wigan not as strong imo as they were last season. Am sure Mr M, Was can fill us in on the Everton side?

Also Villa, Chelsea and Man Utd look decent bets although id like to see a bit better prices.

Big blow for Man Utd though looks to be the injury to Ryan Giggs who has been there best player by an absolute mile so far.

Yes to Everton ,that's very enticing especially at Goodison.

I'm looking at the 3/1 for Arsenal too , this will be Man Ures biggest challenge yet and I fancy the gunners to come together for this one

Re: Premiership - 16/17th

Couple of statty facts on the Man U v Arsenal game, I always like looking atH2H stuff when big teams play eachother.

In the last 8 league meetings between the two Arsenal have failed to register a single victory, Man U have won 4 and there have been 4 draws.

The last 4 league meetings at old Trafford have been 2-0, 2-0, 0-0 and 2-0 to Man Utd.

Together with Man Utds current form and the fact that Arsenal have started this season very slow and are really struggling to break down sides I would have to say that betting Arsenal isnt a good bet imo. I think the draw could be very good value indeed

Re: Premiership - 16/17th

Bolton – Middlesbrough

Pick: Bolton (0) AH
Odds: 1.60 @ Interwetten
Stake: 6/10

Bolton is known as great home team and with their physical play it is very hard for every opponent to match with them. Allardyce did great job with his team in the past years I really like how the team is composed and their style of play, mostly at home. Yes, when they are playing away their counter attack is not working well, but at home they are carried from their crowd and they are playing very good football.

What to say about Middlesbrough? In my opinion, they are not a team that can finish in the top half of the table. Southgate is still without experience and he cannot lead the team like McLaren did. Although he took points from the teams like Arsenal and Chelsea, they lost from Portsmouth and Reading in this season. Against Arsenal they looked sharpless in the attack and they scored a goal from their only shot on the goal. On that match Boro was lucky not to concede 3-4 goals. Arsenal was dominating, but strange luck was on Boro’s side. I believe that this kind of luck cannot least long.

Bolton last win against Boro is in 2003 and from then they lost twice but both times they played away (and Bolton is not an away team) and at home they haven’t suffered a single loss from them in Premier League. Adding to this that I rate Bolton as better team, the home court advantage and the team news, this will be a good bet I believe.

Team news: Bolton will miss Davies and Pedersen but they can be easily replaced. Also Stelios Giannakopoulos is fit again and he will play. Southgate has huge worries because his best two players, Downing (injured) and Boateng (suspended) won’t play. I guess his tactics will be based again on counter attacks, but I do not believe that Bolton will let them too much space and, in my opinion, Middlesbrough are not capable of keeping a clean sheet on this match.

My estimations: 50% – 30% - 20%

Everything over 2.00 worth a shot, but I will take the safer opinion with DNB on Bolton for 1.60 @ Interwetten.

Re: Premiership - 16/17th

stats smatchs MrM , the thing is about the premiership is that trends mean less. Manure haven't been tested thus far and player for player Arsenal are quite capable of dominating this game. ok the draw is likely but the away win is just as possible and wouldnt be a suprise. I always back manure at odds against and in that vein 3/1 for Arsenal is crazy IMO

Re: Premiership - 16/17th

Fair enough Keem value is in the eye of the beholder and all that but you can say stats smatchs () all you like but neither is the form in Arsenals corner either is it, so betting Arsenal just seems to be a bit random to me. I wouldnt give them any better than a 3/1 chance seeing as they dont seem to be so great away anymore coupled with Man Utd totally owning them for the last few seasons with a lot of the same personnel.

Re: Premiership - 16/17th

aye , maybe I'm backing the whole 'united aint played anyone so far' angle , no Giggs , Rooney out of sorts , Saha irratic etc. It's the price which tempts me , 3/1 for Arsenal is just way too big to ignore. Random shmandom
