Hi punters back again with the IRISH LEAGUE up until this week we have been playing the league cup games which is a opener to the season final rounds of it will be played mid-week. Looking at the league itself Linfield will again be the frontrunners they have snapped up the best of the local talent thanks to a cheque from the I.F.A. for £440,000 for the rent of Windsor park last year for Internationals and Cup Finals.The other clubs get F**K ALL so its a battle for survival newly promoted Crusaders from the shore rd of Belfast after a season of being relegated will be hard to beat in their tight little stadium. Also promoted from West Belfast are Donegal Celtic poor facilities and poor team panel but have signed 3 reasonable players on loan .

This was the tables in the cis league cup top 2 from each section qualify for 1/4 finals gives us a guide .


Glentoran@1.57 should win in a canter say Armagh the other week at Coleraine they were awful whipped 4-0 by our young team.

Ballymena @1.67 can get a result at home although i liken them to Man City
unpredictable lot.

Limavady @2.35 are a good bet against newcomers D.Celtic ,they lost 2 games so far and are a big strong physical team agood 2 X bet

Dungannon v Newry is a tough one possible stalemate but i would lean towards a 1 X outcome

Larne @2.70 can make home advantage count lost narrowly to Linfield a week ago giving the blues a scare as they stole a 90min winner.

Linfield @ 1.40 can win at windsor but cliftonville are unbeaten they were lucky to get a point at C'RAINE last week with a late equaliser.

L'Distillery v Coleraine has the look of a draw the home team are inconsistent and C'raine with their young team are hard to beat if they get their nose in front ,but have lost points to late goals a few times this season with a loss of concentration in the final mins of a game.

Portadown @ 1.62 can overcome the C'rues provided their defence holds firm as the C'rues can be tigerish fighters.

Howya Finn. I think i will try and look at the northern ireland stuff this year. I usually just look out for the Linfield/Glentoran double. Its a pity a few more bookies dont offer it though. No wonder Linfield pissed on all and sundry last year if they are getting that sort of money for rent.

Hi Ceirtlis Yes most bookies now have Irish league on line the local one's eg Eastwood accept trebles as a min.but bet365 and others will take singles i find some cracking prices on the net as the mainland shops are not up to speed with the local league.

As you say Linfield have a big advantage not only cash wise but being able to have 5/6 players full time .There is a huge debate on up here about a new stadium planned for the old Maze complex which was the prison during the troubles ,the 45,000 stadium would be used for Soccer ,Rugby and G.A.A.plus concerts.This would mean the end for Windsor Park and talk is that as prime land the Linfield board are talking of selling the site, and up sticks moving to Newtownabbey in the north of the city where they have a large fan base.
They would have plenty of cash from the sale of Windsor plus a million + settlement from the I.F.A. to cash in the International agreement.
