I haven't seen Montrose in awhile and they was rubbish back when i watched them. Arbroath like Danq impressed me quite a lot but i really don't know what has happened since i backed them to win the league!!! I'm just not sure about this game to be honest - i really want to back Arbroath but poor form is putting me off but Montrose have been poor recently as well.

your ok micikiki. Your english is probably better than mine. Livingston just seem to have probs scoring mici. Here's manager John Robertson after their last defeat
http://www.livingstonfc.co.uk/audio.php?media_id=78

Too unpredictable for me. Same with the Montrose game. Im forgetting them now. I better check if Raith have a new manager yet too. Lets see what i what interests me for tomorrow :rubhand

Bollocks i'll go get my french line on first

Re: Hoots Mon! It's the Scot's 1-2-3: 4th Nov

bollocks the Clyde site is down and the accies one aint updating their reports. suppose i had that one down as a draw anyhow. NO BET

Ive been sitting staring into space for about 5 minutes over backing St J. Will Milne coming back make up for losing Scotland? Will Partick continue their fine away form? The price on St J has been cut to odds on in most places. I dont think im gonna bother with them. I cant trust them at home and ive been a fan of thistle away all year. I cant get involved. St Johnstone could win by 5 mind NO BET

Gretna i have no faith in but i can see them turning Dundee over. then again a fully fit dundee squad took 4 off Gretna before ht last they met. NO BET

Scotish Division One- NO BET

Ayr are 6/4 with Ladbrokes. thats an ok price imo. Ayr played 2 upfront for the first time this season and it worked and they ripped forfar apart, although forfar were missing 3 central defenders.
Quote:
Stranraer v Ayr United
Stranraer are without Lee Sharp, Gary McPhee and skipper Michael Moore, who begins his suspension following a double red card at Brechin.

But Kenny Wright and Paul McMullan are both expected to be named in the starting line-up.

Ayr United's David Lowing plays before a two-match suspension kicks in.

Martyn Campbell remains sidelined, while Paul Weaver is making swift progress from ankle tendon trouble but he will not be risked.
bah if Weaver was back i think we'd be laughing all the way to the payout counter. I can't see me not being on ayr and i like them more and more i think of it could be a 7/10 bet for me.

Brechin 4/5 in Ladbrokes too. Interesting Mr Bond. the 4/6 in Hills looks more realistic to me. Forfar still have their probs and before their probs they werent getting results. I think i have to back Brechin tomorrow. My only worry is that Brechin away dont start attacking till their a goal down

Alloa im backing due to them finally having all their players available and theyre latest results show that. 7/2 is too big a price and seeing as its in Ladbrokes it fits nicely on my line.

Raith i think will get a draw at Cowdenbeath and Morton backers might have a few scares.

Queens Park are still a bit short for my liking. Its gonna be a tough game and Albion will always get a goal. Infact just checking that theyve scored in every league game this season barr when Berwick came to call and that ended 1-0 to berwick as predicted by yours truley NO BET

I want to back Montrose with Rodgers and possibly Higgins back but i can see this ending a draw to. 2-2 or similar NO BET

I want to get the 11/5 on Berwick. Dumbarton are a bit over rated imo and they'll miss Borris. Both teams got players out but i like Berwick grinding out 1-0 wins in this sort of game. Small single on Berwick at Hills at 15/8

East Fife have Wilkie on loan from Dundee Utd to regain fitness. Dont know iof theyd need him really as theyre pretty solid at the back this season. Actually no other bets for me but then theres still about 20hrs to kick off.

Re: Hoots Mon! It's the Scot's 1-2-3: 4th Nov

What is the generla opinion on St Johnstone everyone? I watched them v Gretna and they had the majority of the play but some stupid defending cost them ina 3-3 draw. Now if that gretna team can goto Partick and stick 5 or 6 past them and remember St Johnstone stuck 5 past Partick at the start of the season then the Evens here has to be worth a go? St Johnstone I think have only lost once at home this year I think. They miss Scotland and Lawson tomorrow which worries me but they still have some good players in Sheerin, Milne etc. Partick in my view are "punching above their weight" as far as results go. One to consider I think.....

Re: Hoots Mon! It's the Scot's 1-2-3: 4th Nov

I am also liking the look of DUNDEE 1X I think. Take it from me, Gretna's defence is not as good as it was last season. They have found their level I think and truth be told they have probably surpassed expectation levels at the speed they got to division 1. Anyway, the reason I like Dundee is because of Gretna's defensive problems. They have let in 11 in their last 4 league games:

3 to Hamilton
3 to Clyde
3 to St Johnstone
2 to Airdrie

Dundee on the other hand seem to be doing a bit better, although they were beaten quite heavily in the end at Partick last week. Alex Rae did no favours getting sent off mind! Dundee have an ok recent record at home only losing 1 of their last 5 games. They did beat Gretna 4-0 away. Jeez... Gretna defence is leaky, Overs anyone? Lyle back for Dundee

Re: Hoots Mon! It's the Scot's 1-2-3: 4th Nov

good luck to you chaps on St J. As mentioned ive 'shat it' on them after much consideration but for you fellas.

Going to read this from The Daily Record

Quote:
'M ACHING TO NEEDLE JAGS AGAIN
DIVISION ONE LATEST... McLaren has Thistle in his sights St Johnstone v Partick Thistle
By Gordon Parks

ST JOHNSTONE winger Willie McLaren admits he's scared of injections - but not Jags.

McLaren was an instant hit in his debut at Firhill as he helped Saints to a 5-1 win.

But after shining against Partick following a £40,000 move from Airdrie United, McLaren's form dipped.

The root of his troubles turned out to be rotten teeth and a mouth abscess which was pumping poison into his bloodstream.

But after letting a dentist tackle years of neglect, the youngster is ready to inflict more pain on the surprise league leaders.

He said: "I had terrible trouble with my teeth. I hadn't been to a dentist for six years because I'm scared of injections.

"I don't mind getting kicked on a football pitch but I really hate needles.

"Now I've had a few teeth taken out and others fixed up. I had been feeling really bad and didn't know why. But the problem turned out to be an abscess."

McLaren hopes to be smiling again as Saints look to get back on track after losing their unbeaten record last week at Clyde.

That defeat let Thistle leapfrog a Perth outfit which has top striker Jason Scotland and on-loan Celtic midfielder Paul Lawson suspended for the McDiarmid clash.

Saints have a big game looming with Rangers in the CIS Cup next week but McLaren said: "I've been there as a spectator but never to play, I'd love to start. But I can't afford to think about it. The Thistle game is even bigger for the club.

"I don't think the home fans have seen the best of me yet so I'd like to start making an impression."

McLaren gets his chance as boss Owen Coyle addresses the gaps left by Perth sinners Scotland and Lawson.

Coyle also has Peter MacDonald earmarked for the front line and the ex-Ger has punished the Jags severely in recent years. The Perth boss said: "Peaso is as good a striker as there is in the division when he's fully fit. We've been nursing him along and he's getting fitter and sharper."

Coyle has called on his players to forget about the Gers tie and focus on edging ahead of a Jags side which has surprised pundits by going top.

But Coyle said: "They have recovered from home defeats against us and Gretna and have won games to take them top. Dick Campbell and Jimmy Bone are quality managers.

"We were very good that day at Firhill but had to win to go ahead of Partick. Hopefully that's an omen and we can make amends for last week's disappointment at Clyde." Meanwhile, Jags boss Campbell believes today's clash will be a pivotal moment in their campaign.

Having led his side to the First Division summit he's adamant the trip to Perth will go a long way to proving they have what it takes to stay there.

He said: "We know the importance of this game and it's one we should all be up for. Whatever way you look at it this will be a major test but it's one we're well up for.

"If I had to single out one area that is vital it is the need to keep a clean sheet.

"We cannot afford to lose an early goal or two like the last time we met them.

"The boys know they owe the fans after St Johnstone beat us earlier in the season but we need the support to be the 12th man and roar us on."

DIV 1 TEAMSHEET

HAMILTON boss Billy Reid yesterday sent a number of players home from training as a stomach bug hit the club.

Scott Tunbridge has returned to training and is included along with new signing French defender Omar Rezgane but among those definitely out are Mark McLaughlin, David McEwan and Mark Gilhaney.

Clyde wait for a late check on Steve Masterton.

Leaders Partick Thistle are still missing John Robertson and there is a doubt over Scott Boyd who has a calf strain. St Johnstone have strikers Jason Scotland and Paul Lawson suspended.

That's a huge blow boss Owen Coyle is working on how to overcome.

Dundee are without banned player-boss Alex Rae who won't be able to sit in the dugout against Gretna. But Rae welcomes back striker Derek Lyle after suspension and new signing John Boggan is also included. Keeper Ludo Roy has returned to training after being sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Gretna boss Rowan Alexander is without the suspended Craig Barr.

Airdrie are without banned duo Paul Lovering and Xavier Barrau against Livingston, who are down to 16 players and looking for their first win in seven games after a great start.

Boss John Robertson expects Steven Tweed, Steve Craig and Steve Hislop to shake off knocks.

Queen of the South have Jim Thomson back and will make a late decision on Paul Burns (knee).

But boss Ian McCall is still without Andy Aitken and Murray Henderson against Ross County who have Don Cowie doubtful

I always like a flu bug in a team, well apposing them. Lets see if there's much more on it again from The Daily Record

Quote:
JOE WOULD LIKE A TONIC FOR CUP
DIVISION ONE LATEST... Clyde v Hamilton
By Gordon Parks

JOE MILLER is confident his side can give themselves the perfect Challenge Cup Final confidence booster by dumping bitter rivals Hamilton.

The Clyde boss takes his team to Perth next week to face Ross County as they strive to win their first trophy for 48 years.

AndMiller is convinced a result against Accies will set his Broadwood babes up for the game of their lives.

He said: "Obviously the league game against Hamilton is what we'll be focusing on and I don't want anyone to be distracted by looking too far ahead of themselves.

"The Cup Final will be a great occasion for everyone but the league is the priority for us and three points are a must.

"But if we can get the win we would take that into the Ross County game and that's the aim.

"Hamilton have been in good form. They had a great result against Gretna last week so they'll be looking to continue that. They're well placed near the top of the table and will be hoping to mount a challenge just as we are.

"Our victory over St Johnstone last week was welcome and we must now build on that by getting a few wins under our belt.

"I've always felt this division is wide open and if any side can get on a run it will put them in a strong position. I'm sure most of the managers in the league will be thinking the same thing so we're now entering a crucial part of the season."

Accies boss Billy Reid admits he always looks forward to going back to a ground he knows well after his spell managing the Cumbernauld side.

He said: "Every time I go back to Broadwood there is always added spice.

"We turned Clyde over recently and they will be bristling for revenge. I'm sure the fans will get their money's worth."

DIV 3 TEAMSHEET

QUEEN'S PARK are without hamstring victim Shaun Molloy and Richard Bowers is struggling with akidney infection for the clash with Albion Rovers.

But the Hampden side could have Robert Dunn and Frankie Carroll in the squad after both trained this week. Albion are without Ian Chisholm.

East Fife are still without GreigMcDonald, Gary Kelly, Steve Fortune and Paul Ritchie for the clash with Elgin, who restore Hugh Dickson but are still without Chris Gardiner.

Dumbarton have Craig Winter back after suspension but Ryan Borris is now banned while Mark Dempsie, lamie Smith, lohn Gemmell and Chris Gentile are out against Berwick, who have lordan Smith and Kevin Haynes returning.

Montrose have Chris McLeod suspended but Andy Rodgers returns against Arbroath who have Barry Sellars banned
Berwick having their main striker back this week too. I'd love to be on that 11/5 with bet365. 15/8 will do me though

Read up Bromsgrove. Possibly my bet of the day. They are staying with 2 upfront and i'd say their an even money chance for the win. Stranraer aint the same without a goal a game Moore and i'll be on Ayr for sure. to us

Re: Hoots Mon! It's the Scot's 1-2-3: 4th Nov

oh forgot to mention Ayr's loan signing Stevenson is playing well in midfield for them too. On the minus side they could do with Campbell in defence but theyve been missing him for morst the season. Weaver is out to and i like his creativity. Ayr aint a great side but with their fine away record i think theyre gonna be too strong for Stranraer. Stranraer have already beaten them twice this season if you include pre-season friendly but to me the time is right for ayr to win

Stenhousemuir Preview
The team enters one of its most important games of the season with another player shortage. Just as the visit to Elgin was blighted by injuries and illness, Shire will be severely depleted for the trip to Ochilview tomorrow. Andrew Brand has returned to training but is nowhere near match fit. Andy Smith is unlikely to appear either, and Alan Ward, Steven Dymock and Steven Blair have not recovered from their injuries and will not be considered.
Manager Gordon Wylde is promising to abandon the long ball approach adopted rather unsuccessfully for the East Fife game. His game plan will be influenced by the Warriors' plastic pitch. Wylde is a fan of the surface and believes it will suit the instincts of his better players.
One major factor will be how Stenhousemuir react to the midweek resignation of manager Des McKeown. They will have McKeown's assistant, Paul Smith, in charge for the game and he is promising to adopt his own approach. One thing that still hurt them is Shire's 5-0 win over the Warriors at Firs Park in August. They want revenge.

bollocks 5/6 ht/ft for stenhousemuir with sporting odds. Im left with 8/11 in the high street

Re: Hoots Mon! It's the Scot's 1-2-3: 4th Nov

An East Fife fan on Pie and Bovril aint too confident about his teams chances today-

Quote:
Not making any bold predictions here today but something worries me about this Elgin game, they are in a false position and will be determined to take something at Bayview today, the Fifers will have to be at their best today to secure another vital 3 ponts. With Ritchie, Fortune and Dair missing, along with a few others Baikie might have to change a few things round. I'll be glued to the Sky Sports today watching the goals come through and hopefully they'll all be for the home side
Heh heh stranraer fan's aint that confident either-

Quote:
The way we have played in the last few weeks all we can hope for is not to heavy a defeat
brechin fan trying to be realistic-

Quote:
I'll keep my feet firmly on the ground and say that despite Forfar's recent results, we are in for a tough match tomorrow and that we will have to work hard to get all three points.

That said, I'd be very disappointed if we came away with anything less than a victory. It's one of those games we have to win but as everyone knows form goes completely out of the window in local derbies.
