Was looking at this earlier, Wrexham have got an impressive recent record at Gigg Lane, they've won 3 and drawn 3 of their last 6 visits there. Bury certainly look better on current form mind you.

Aye Bury have really bucked up after a terrible start, young Schmeichal seems to have done the trick since he went back to Bury on loan and he's having another blinding season for them.

Bury - Wrexham: Preview

The Match
Wrexham go into the game unbeaten in their last two games with confidence further boosted with two clean sheets. Bury, on the other hand, arrive on the back of five straight wins and Wrexham will need to be a lot sharper in front of goal in order to get all three points, which would see us climb to within a point of Bury.

The Shakers
After struggling for the most of last season, Bury have made a positive start to this campaign and find themselves in 11th position with 23 points after 17 games. The majority of Bury's points this season have come away from Gigg Lane with the Shakers recording two wins out of their seven homes games compared to five on the road. However, a total of five wins in their last eight league games does see the Shakers occupy second spot in the league form table. The upturn in fortune for the Shakers coincided with the arrival of Glynn Hurst from Shrewsbury and the former Notts County striker, who scored on his debut for Shrewsbury against Wrexham at the start of this year, has now extended his spell into a second month in view to a permanent move when the transfer window opens in January.
Hurst has scored six times in just over a month but he is not the top goal scorer for Bury as this honour is currently held by Andy Bishop, who has found the back of the net seven times so far this season including two penalties on the weekend.
Manager Chris Casper has now been in charge of Bury for just over a year after his playing career ended due to injury after he joined Reading from Manchester United in £300,000 move in 1998.

Past Encounters
Both games last season ended up in draws with the match at the Racecourse ending up goalless. In the fixture at Gigg Lane, Wrexham opened the scoring through Lee McEvilly in the eleventh minute but they were pegged back within a couple of minutes. Robbie Foy restored Wrexham's lead midway through the first half but Bury equalised for the again in the second half. Wrexham currently lead the head-to-head with 18 wins compared to Bury's 6 in the league and there have been 10 draws from the 34 games played.

Bury come into the game on the back of five straight wins with the first of these coming at highflying Lincoln. Another away win followed at Macclesfield before the Shakers returned home for a 2-1 win over Boston. With wins over the two bottom teams in the bag, Bury's decent form continued with another impressive win at Notts County and the 3-1 win at rivals Rochdale on the weekend followed this.

Wrexham have at least halted the run of defeats with a home win over Bristol Rovers and then a draw against bottom of the table Macclesfield on the weekend. The positive to come out for this game was that it was a clean sheet for successive weekends after Wrexham previously went down to defeats against Hartlepool, MK Dons and Mansfield.

Team News

Bury Team News: Bury will be without their captain Dave Challinor with the defender joining goal keeper Alan Fettis (broken arm) and midfielder Marc Goodfellow (back) on the sidelines.
