Re: CC Championship 11th November
OK shortlist time
Brum looks a cert coupon buster
Cardiff v Burnley is a leave alone although evens appeals for the home team there
No reson Derby cant carry on winning at Cov
Stoke at 3.2 is mouthwatering
1.83 about Ipswich at home looks tempting
Plymouth could bouce back there at nice odds
QPR could fancy a win at demolorised Luton - home form is good mind
Preston may bring the shrimpers back to earth at 2.2
Soton at 3.2 is big
WBA maybe

Re: CC Championship 11th November
Birmingham as I mentioned will be heavily supported now they seem to have forged a team spirit. MCSheffrey and Nicklas Bendtner were both rested midweek and they are Brums best forwards .Four straight wins, good teams too WBA cov Derby and Plymouth away , 1 goal conceded in 5 games .Nothing much more to say about them really , can Barnsley slay them? well they would have to play damn well , they have lost their last 6 on the road scoring just 5 . They did well to beat a fragile Leeds side last week but I rekon Ritchie will be looking past this game for their next points.
Brum 2/5 ish 8.5/10 conf

Re: CC Championship 11th November
Cardiff v Burnley is a watcher as Burnley who were faves for the drop have flourished under Cotterill , an example of a young coach being given time to build his team , I love Gray up front , he's gold at this level , tall quick , knows where the goal is , works hard , love him. Cardiff have faultered of late , that loss at Colchester simply would not have happened to Birmingham at the moment. They lost at Norwich a team who you must beat if you want automatic promotion. I rekon Jones get's nervy and with that idiot from Leeds taking over from sam Hamman there's not much good news around..
Cov V derby - get a coin and flip it!
Palace V Stoke
No wins and 5 losses in 7 games for Palace , the manager must be getting nervy , Taylor has never done well given a biggish club with a bit of money , maybe it's why he does well with the u21's.
They have shipped 7 goals recently to mediocre QPR and dire Sheff Wed. I really cant understand them being faves for this game.
Maybe it's because Stoke do struggle away , they have lost their last 2 away to leicester and Southampton , not bad teams to be fair.
I just like that they are playing good football with Hendrie bossing things , Bangoura could be fit for this after scoring in the reserves midweek , he aint started a game this season after top scoring last year when Stoke really struggled.
yeah its worth a point is this
Stoke 2/1 2 points

Re: CC Championship 11th November
I took some of Preston before the Southend cup game as the way i saw it was any result would not enhance their chances due to them trying to contain a superior team whether then win/lose or draw and if they got battered the price would drop. They won and the price has stayed but i'm still happy with my punt.
Stoke is the other one that stands out for me as Keemanan mentions and i can see me having a slice of that.

Re: CC Championship 11th November
Might have a stab at Coventry , although Keem summed it up by his " flip a coin " comment
Coventry have no new injury worries after six players carrying knocks came through the Stoke game unscathed.
Defensive quartet Clive Clarke, Robert Page, Richard Duffy and Marcus Hall, midfielder Stephen Hughes and forward Dele Adebola are all fit to play.
Derby will be without banned defender Mo Camara and Richard Jackson and Paul Boertien are battling to replace him. Michael Johnson and Matt Oakley showed no ill effects after returning from injury, but Paul Peschisolido is out.

Re: CC Championship 11th November
Just a pointer for those considering the Cov v Derby game. Derby have conceded 11 goals i think in their last 2 games at Coventry and have lost the last 6. Derby are on the up though but betting wise this is one to miss.

Re: CC Championship 11th November
I'm on Preston too now Quandy I like the way Preston are shaping up and their stats look good , whereas Cardiff sprinted to the front they have carreered iceberg style towards the summit.Out of their first 10 games they managed only 11 goals , only losing 1 game in that run. Since October they have won 5 out of 6 scoring 18 times !Ok they lost a thriller at Burnley last away game but it was a thrilling open derby match.
I have no doubt that Southend will be a hard team to breakdown , especially given their cup heroics midweek. but they have injury worries plus a suspended captain:
Quote:
Inspirational captain Kevin Maher is suspended having picked up five yellow cards this season.
Striker Gary Hooper (bruised foot) and right-back Lewis Hunt (ankle) both limped out of the stunning win over Manchester United and will not figure.
Forwards Lee Bradbury (hip) and Billy Paynter (hamstring) were already missing, while defender Adam Barrett is still out with a stomach injury which kept him out on Tuesday.
But Matt Harrold returns to partner Freddy Eastwood in attack after being cup-tied and Efe Sodje plays despite a broken finger.
|
from teamtalk that:
I think the over evens is a splendid gamble
Preston 2.2 3pts

Re: CC Championship 11th November
The h2h's for Palce v Stoke isn't good reading for Stoke but at the prices on offer they must have a chance ?
Hendrie is playing well and with Palace really struggling this year Stoke look worth a punt. Agree also on Preston.
I'm was also tempted with Wolves away to Hull but looking at the last couple of games both have beaten Southend but Hull got a point from Southampton where as Wolves got humped 2-zip.
Fancied Ipswich and Birmingham both for home wins but after looking into it Sheff Wed have done pretty good of late (RP haven't included lastest form this week cause of the FA cup)

Re: CC Championship 11th November
I am interested at West bromwitch tomorrow. This is the injury situation. Can someone comment?
West Brom v Norwich
West Brom playmaker Zoltan Gera faces a late fitness test on his calf and striker Kevin Phillips could return.
Midfield duo Darren Carter and Nigel Quashie have both returned to training and may be called into the squad, but Paul Robinson remains suspended.
Dion Dublin will stay at the heart of the Norwich defence with Gary Doherty a week away from a return.
Doherty has a back injury and fellow defender Craig Fleming is still struggling with a hamstring strain.

Re: CC Championship 11th November
Preston for me, there on a roll and the Southend win against Man U will have done them no favours what so ever league wise.
Time to come back down to earth with a bump...Preston win.

Re: CC Championship 11th November
If Gera is out then it's a big blow , Phillips fit would be a bonus to the bench but all in all not bad team news for WBA Avok.
Norwich kept a clean sheet v Sunderland last week with 85 year old Dion Dublin at the back , I think he could struggle v the superior baggies attack. WBA have wobbled a bit so I'm taking a watching brief myself but GL.
Stoke for me too keg , it's merely the odds that I like as they aint the best travellers

spot on with the Ipswich and Wolves swerve , there's no Chelsea/Man Ure /arsenal in this league , anyone can beat anybody else on their day.For me form is everything!
Unlucky with Preston but worth the punt at over evens , apparently Southend far from being tired took inspiration from the Man U victory and in hindsight who wouldn't?
