Re: Scots 1-2-3 & Tennants Cup 25th Nov
oh aye i'll have a look at thgis as im pretty much settled in taking the two aways tomorrow night. Maybe i'll just lay the 2 homes if i can.
Anyhow 1st thoughts from me at them prices........Clyde i always like at home. shame they aint really offering much of a strike force (shit its gonna be hgard for them wed as ...nah roberts is gonna have a stinker) QOS blow a bit hot and cold. Respected at home. It doesnt overly excite me but i could be tempted in Clyde if i get evens plus.
Dundee and airdrie seem to be the teams in the falsest positions. I think Airdrie have a good record at dundee to. I cant see me chancing either seeing as theyre playing each other. Gretna gave Partick a right doing last time but i aint so convinced about Gretna at home and i like Partick away. Im for an over 2.5 goals bet on this one for sure. I might even go as high as over 4.5 with Partick hitting a shaky gretna defence on the break.
Hamilton i could like but nothing to get excited by and st J livi looks a tough one too.
Alloa v Brechin stinks of a draw to me. Hard to split them. Ovenstone (??) i believe will be back and ready for Alloa and he does make a diff. Well i think its ovenstone, its someone, need to check.
Morton to beat the Cowdenbeath but not at them odds. again the over 2.5 would interest me. See Morton winning it 3-1 after being one down or something. Peterhead v Ayr is a cracker of a tie. again i'd take Ayr at anyone at the mo but Peterhead are improving even though they let some inc me down at a resurgent Stranraer the other week. Tough game. Goals again i feel especially if i use my well known catchphrase this season 'if Weaver is back working his magic in Ayr's midfield;'.
Albion v Arbnroath. Fcuk not again. this must be the 4th meeting between the 2 this season with it 2-1 to Albion so far. Ive a feeling arbroath are gonna be up for it and Albion's mamager seems to be doing some crazy things with his defence at the mo.
Elgin i could like at Dumbarton but that would be a tenative one. Def a bit of value as the bookies over rate dumbarton every week. they aint as solid at The rock as they were a few seasons ago. East Fife are stuttering and will have quite a few out for saturday. I have gave up putting my money on David robertson managed teams for a while now though
Queens Park ran the show at stenny earlier this season till they lost unfortunatly. Stenhousemuir i just dont know whats happened to them. No fight or whatever. Need to read up but i would find it hard to back against stenhousmuir still even though QP are on a great run.
all East stirling have going for them is their pitch and boy will it be boggy.

Re: Scots 1-2-3 & Tennants Cup 25th Nov
Correct Komp, 4th meeting of Arbroath and Albion this season. If we hadn't scored in the last few minutes, that would have been an astounding 7 meetings with them in a season! As it is, it's only 6.
They've been a bit of a bogey team this season, managing to scrape 2 wins against us (1 on penalties). Saturday was a lot better, Arbroath looking like getting back to somewhere near their best, 1st half especially. Albion's defence a bit shaky, with their star man Lennon playing out of position on the right, and getting regularly skinned by our left winger Stein
If both teams are the same odds, i'd rather be on Arbroath. Our great away form, and morale boosting win on Saturday are big factors.
Other games -
Dumbarton and East Fife will put away poor opposition at home, and i'd be VERY tempted by Queens Park at odds > evens, as 'league favourites' Stenny are showing their true colours... PISH!
Stirling should beat Shire easy enough.

Re: Scots 1-2-3 & Tennants Cup 25th Nov
Just a quick note from p&b re Hamilton-
Quote:
|
Our problem yesterday was we were again missing 4 of our most influential players (McLaughlin, Fleming, Wilson and Gilhaney). We've got cover, but when we go into game after game missing big players like these we can't expect to keep getting results.
|
Think wilson could be back for Sat. Help out their midfield. Wonder if any others will be back

Re: Scots 1-2-3 & Tennants Cup 25th Nov
Quote:
Montrose boss Davie Robertson is hoping an Angolan-born Swede who calls himself LORD can answer his side's promotion prayers. The Gable Endies gaffer has tied up the 22-year old - who has played at international level for Congo - as an amateur as part of a triple signing.
The defender's full name is Kangana Lord Ndiwa but prefers to be called Lord. He has had spells with Bolton, Oldham and Rochdale and spent the early part of this season with non-league Worthing.
Lord, who has also played in Solvenia, was born in Angola but holds a Swedish passport and played for thier U'19s. And to confuse things, he played for Congo in the African Nations Cup."

Re: Scots 1-2-3 & Tennants Cup 25th Nov
The weather is terrible gales forecast at the weekend , anyway looks tough , fancy Gretna but what a poor price , cant see how all the teams at home in div 1 are odds on , dont really like any of them St J at a push. Div 2 cant trust Morton till they get a bit of confidence back down to the manager in my opinion, play for a draw at Stirling, and changing things when its to late 4/9 to short. Raith v Stranraer another tight one new manager Raith, expect them to improve, but also Wilson addition to Stran should help , Stran will miss Moore suspended Star last week in cup,no bet . Alloa v Brechin looks drawish. Div 3 Albion improving and the game at Cliftonhill could go either way the weather plus the pitch make it hard to call, dont like favs at Albion. E Fife i would like with 3 players returning but once again no value at that price, Rogers sus Montrose think.Queens v Stenny fancy Queens a bit playing well seen them afew times this season and they have improved every time forward Weatherson on fire, are Stenny as bad though to represent nearly 2s ? . Dumbarton should beat Elgin but terrible price, with the weather and not much value not many bets , o Stirling should be a banker v E Stirling.

Re: Scots 1-2-3 & Tennants Cup 25th Nov
Right quicks thoughts on the game - Clyde vs Queen of the south looks a home win but not really want to play it. Dundee vs Airdrie looks nasty and Dundee is a bit short for me. Gretna 4/6 i fancy that i priced them less. Hamilton should be Ross County but do they still have injury problems - stay away. St Johnstone at 10/11 is a decent price.
Alloa vs Brechin is tough to predict, Morton i'm not interested until they start getting results. Fancy Ayr to beat the blue toon - Ayr fantastic away from home. Raith vs Stranraer is a tough game.
Albion vs Arbroath and to me Arbroath is very short and not worth getting involved. Dumbarton vs Elgin and Dumbarton are too short, East Fife if injuries clear up then i won't take Montrose as a outsider even though i think Montrose are shite but new signings might help. Queens vs Stenny and i don't want to get involved but for some reason i fancy Stenny!!!
Stirling should win if the game is on - weather conditions are poor down that way so i'm told.

Re: Scots 1-2-3 & Tennants Cup 25th Nov
suppose i better get my arse into gear. Im gonna look at tonights footie first but i seriously need to get back to winning ways.
Quote:
DON'T PANIC!
EAST Fife boss Dave Baikie insists there is no need to panic, despite East Fife's mini slump in form.
The Fifers were dumped out of the Tennent's Scottish Cup on Saturday in disappointing fashion after conceding two late goals in the 3-1 home defeat to Berwick Rangers.
But Baikie believes his side are just one win away from recapturing their title-winning form.
He said: "I don't think the players' confidence has gone down.
"The Elgin result was disappointing and we should have won. But in the two games against a good Berwick side, there were times when they rode their luck and the rub of the green has not been there for us.
"We are not a million miles away from where we were. We are just one win away from getting back on track."
Baikie feels his side are the victims of their early season success.
He said: "Maybe some of the fans have delusions of grandeur and now expect us to win all the time.
"But there is very little to choose between the sides in this division."
The Fifers will face Montrose this weekend at Bayview with an almost full-strength squad.
There were no injuries sustained against Berwick while Paul Ritchie, Gary Kelly and Sam Linton should all return. Only Scott Crabbe and Greig McDonald remain sidelined.
Baikie is expecting a tough encounter against the Angus side

some raith info too-
Quote:
He got a chance to see them in action in a 5-1 victory over junior side Musselburgh Athletic in torrential rain on Monday night.
The match heralded the return to action of Paul McManus, who showed no side-effects from his recent illness as he netted a double, and is back in contention for a starting place on Saturday.
Armand One (2) and Hjalmar Thorarinsson also grabbed goals giving McGlynn a selection headache for his first match.
However, midfielder Iain Davidson and right back Craig Wilson both picked up knocks which make them doubtful for the Stranraer match.
McGlynn was pleased with the run-out, saying: "It was a good opportunity to get a look at the boys. We showed a good attitude, albeit against junior opposition. I was pleased that the strikers got goals, which will only help their confidence ahead of Saturday

im liking Raith more and more with McManus being back. He's like a lucky talisman to me. Did i hear right that Moore will still be missing Danq?

Blues Manager Gerry Britton spoke to the clubs website this evening ahead of Saturday's game against Raith Rovers in Scottish League Division Two. "The team news is fairly straight forward at the moment, Michael Moore is out this is due to his suspension, he played in last weeks cup tie against Alloa as this did not apply to Cup ties. Willie Lyle is still out with ligament damage but Sandy Hodge is available for selection again having been unavailable last week due to the terms of his loan deal."

Looks like Moore only got a seat on the bench last week in the cup tie v alloa. they still managed to get 4
Team news for stranraer for the last clash with Raith
Quote:
|
Blues Manager Gerry Britton has injury worries ahead of Saturday's Division Two clash with Raith Rovers. Gary McPhee & Chris McGroarty are definately out of contention for this game and Mark Crilly and Dougie Ramsay who both limped out of last Sundays game against Brechin City will undergo fitness tests at training tonight (Thursday)
|
Quote:
Stranraer 1-4 Raith Rovers
There was a rough day for Gerry Brittons players today as they were beaten by a comprehensive core at Stair Park today. Things looked good for Stranraer as early as the third minute as an excellent strike put Stranraer ahead. Stranraer continued to create chances in the first half with Alex Burns and Michael Moore causing stinging in local boy, Muchael Brown's gloves but Raith did enough to keep Stranraer at bay and their lack of a killer instinct ensured that the scores would remain at 1-0 at half time.
In the second half, Raith looked a different side and old boys Paul McManus and Ian Harty proceeded to dismantle the Stranraer game. Paul McManus levelled the scores on 55 minues when he nipped in behind the defence to prod home. Ian Harty then struck twice in the 61st and 68th minute to put the game beyond reach and Brian Fairburn finished the job off two minutes from time when he capitalised on a defensive error.
|
no team mentioned. Stranraer have won their last 2 at home from memory and played well v Peterhead. New tactics Britton adopted i believe. Maybe the 4-1 scoreline flattered Raith a bit too
http://www.raithroversfc.com/cgi-bin...ils.cgi?id=691
Im away to read the pandb report on it. Raith fielded 7 ex Stranraer players that day if it means much

Re: Scots 1-2-3 & Tennants Cup 25th Nov
stranraer fan-
Quote:
Can’t argue with Raith getting 3 points overall, we just collapsed after a reasonably bright opening. Hamilton scored a peach, left foot 20 yarder to beat Brown in 3 mins. Moore could have made it 2 but Brown got enough on it to slow it before defender cleared off the line. We deserved to be winning at half time.
Second half was a horror show for us. Raith the better team but 4 goals flattered them. First goal was a decent finish from McManus. Goals 2,3 and 4 were gifted to them by Stranraer though, slack passing let Harty run through, defender failed to clear letting Harty get another and then keeper let a relatively straight shot go under him. We just didn’t have any ideas.
May look like on paper that Raith humped us but I don’t think they’re out of the woods yet in terms of being consistent and challenging
|
maybe not as easy i had hoped. Stranraer meet Raith for the 2nd time this season with Raith having a new manager both times.

Re: Scots 1-2-3 & Tennants Cup 25th Nov
Just gonna have a read of the bbeeb's team news to see if it has much to say. You have to take it a bit tongue in cheek though Players that are supposedly not playing according to the beeb suddenly turn up and score a goal against you
Quote:
|
Gretna manager Rowan Alexander is sweating over the fitness of Stevie Tosh and Chris Innes.
|
Gretna will miss them if they are out. Gretna have a few injury probs truth be told with at least 5 out from memory. theyve played with the same team for 3 games mind and won them 3 games - OVER 2.5 @ 1.66 for me on this one i reckon
I could almost be tempted by the under 2.5 in the St Johnstone game but i dont think i'll get involved. Maybe.
Bloody hell wtf do airdrie want Kenny black as their new manager for? The fans must be disappointed in that. Im away for a read....nah not much happening.
Quote:
Montrose add four to their squad
Recently-appointed Montrose manager David Robertson has made four signings as he seeks to lift his side into the Division Three promotion battle.
Midfielder Keith Gibson returned to Links Park on loan after being placed on the transfer list by Peterhead.
Forward Jim Mercer, released by Stenhousemuir during the summer, has signed until January.
And midfielder Danny Campbell arrives via Ashton United and defender Kangana Lord Ndiwa was last with Worthing.
The 21-year-old Campbell, who has played for West Brom, Wolves and Stockport County, has signed as an amateur.
Angola-born Swedish youth international Kangana, 22, has been on the books at Bolton, Oldham and Rochdale was playing in Slovenia last season.
Gibson became a regular with Peterhead for two seasons after leaving Montrose in 2004.
Mercer, 32, started his career with Queen's Park before moving to Arbroath, Albion Rovers then Stenhousemuir
|
Gibson should do ok at this level. Whats Mercer like these days Edin/anyone? the other 2 could be anything. Ive got a wee thing about a Montrose win tomorrow. I might look into it more.
Quote:
|
Cowdenbeath have beaten off competition from several clubs to sign former Celtic midfielder David Hannah on loan from Icelandic outfit Grindavik.
|
stil not interested. I was considering the over 2.5 at 1.56. Still might. Im sure Cowdenbeath wont do as a lot of clubs do when going to Morton and play with 10 men behind the ball.
