Excellent, 4,500 posts with this one as well. Well I never...:loon

As I was saying Winrew put me on to a decent bet tonight so I thought it'd be nice to stick up the analysis I have performed off the back of it.....

Worcester to beat Workington @ 1.9 (Betway)

Conference North, Monday

Stats and match reports (including Saturday's )

http://www.nonleaguegambler.com/matc...FixtureID=1235

This game is doubtful due to the weather so people may want to wait and see on this one but I can wait for the funds to be credited back if need be.

There's quite a few games on Monday nights now for some unknown reason and unsurprisingly it's causing a few headaches for the Non League squads.

On Monday Workington have 4 players unavailable due to work commitments. Taken from their forum:

Quote:
We go to worcester on monday with the prospect of SEVEN players missing!!
Nicholson, May, Johnston and Henney all working
Birks, Goulding and Edmondson could all be out with injuries.

therefore we could muster 10 first team players, but 2 would be keepers..

Of the working lads Johnston is the top scorer with 8 from 15 games, and the others are a striker, midfielder and a center back.

Workington are in poor form at the moment with 4 losses from their last 5 games as they slide down the table. Worcester seem to save their best for the better teams in this league. They've recently beat Kettering and Droylesden at home but then go and loose to Farsley. Reports say that they had a lot of possesion playing pretty football but lacking a cutting edge.

This is also one of their longest trips at 238 miles so if it is called off it will be done so early I'd imagine.

I saw this open at Skybet for 1.8 and it's been punted in to 1.73. Stan James go 1.83 so the 1.9 at Betway is a great price given Workington's squad defficencies. Lets just hope the game goes ahead

Edit - latest news as at 10. am is a Worcester Director says the pitch is drying out so providing the forecasted rain isn't too bad it could well go ahead.

I'm having 4pts on this one btw.

Catch you all around,

AMP

Re: Midweek Non-League - 8/9/10th

hi folks, was liking the look of this bet as well, read in tonights worcester evening newspaper that andy preece is very pleased with the way worcester are playing and as mentioned by AMP they dominated on saturday and were very unlucky to lose by all accounts to an offside goal, farsleys only shot all game.
they have only lost 2 of their last 12 matches so coupled with workingtons form/injuries/work comittments looks a solid bet.
no rain since lunchtime so should be on

Make that Worcester 1-2 Workington - Clegg (pen) - Requests a mildly less irked than previous emoticon.

Should probably be in the live scores bit shouldn't I.

Edit - I'll keep it all in the same post so not to clog the thread up.

2-2 - Wilding 80mins - C'mon!!! Workington forced to sub the scorer of their second and half-time for a school kid.

Re: Midweek Non-League - 8/9/10th

look at this... FA Trophy Oxford - Lewes

Quote:
FROM THE ARGUS:

Lewes may be forced to field an outfield player in goal for tonight's FA Trophy replay at Oxford United.

The club were yesterday refused special dispensation from the Football Association to sign an emergency goalkeeper.

Manager Steven King must now decide whether to play an unfit Aaron France or an outfield player between the posts for one of the biggest games of the season for Lewes.

On a day when Terry Parris announced the end of his 34-year association with Lewes, King was left reeling by the FA's decision.

King approached football's governing body after David Blackmore was recalled by West Ham late on Friday night. With France recovering from a dislocated shoulder and third choice Jack Stern unavailable after accepting a sports scholarship in America, King was granted dispensation by the Conference to sign a goalkeeper for Saturday's league game at Basingstoke, which was postponed.

However, a similar request to Soho Square for the FA Trophy game has been turned down.

King said: "It makes a mockery of the competition. You wouldn't see Chelsea having to play Shaun Wright-Phillips in goal for an important FA Cup tie. This is the top non-league competition and it is a farce."

With Jean-Michel Sigere and Simon Wormull joining the list of doubtfuls for the game, King will field a patched up side this evening.

Sigere, who has been suffering from migraines and flu, and Wormull, who has a knee problem, are rated 50-50 for the game along with Paul Kennett and Lewis Hamilton, who have missed the last three matches.

Winger Andy Drury will play, although he is still nursing a sore hamstring.

King added: "We will be going into the game with five players who will last only 60 minutes if they can play at all."

King has not revealed which outfield player would play in goal.

Re: Midweek Non-League - 8/9/10th

nice find monty, oxford in poor form so a good chance to get back to winnng ways.

like the price of chelmsford at afc tonight, just a feeling that jeff kings big time players are going to well up for a massive game like this one.

hemel hempstead have sneaked up to 5th position in the southern premier almost unnoticed, they seem to have ironed out their defensive frailities recently.tonight they are at home to top of the table stamford, four points seperates the sides,i will chance hemel in a double or treble

bath city away form 6-1-1 look interesting in a top of the table clash at mangotsfield, local derby, probably more bath fans than mangos at the game

gloucester away form 4-2-2 go to 2nd bottom of the table wealdstone, another interesting game betting wise

out of form heybridge swifts go to inform billericay,is this the game for heybridge to show their true quality? odds of 11-5 are available

another out of form side tonbridge angels travel to east thurrock, tonbridge are the better side, odds are about right

i will be mixing up the above in a few small interest bets doubles and trebles

United entertain Conference South side Lewes FC this evening, in the replay of their FA Trophy first round tie. The tie was originally scheduled for 20 December, but had to be postponed because of the heavy fog that made visibility poor, especially under the floodlights. The first game between the sides, at the Dripping Pan, ended 0-0, with United struggling to break down Lewes on a poor playing surface. At least tonight they won't have that impediment. The prize for the winners (and the game will go to extra time and penalties if necessary) is a home tie against Halifax this Saturday

Jim Smith will be forced into at least three changes to the side that drew with Morecambe on Saturday. Neither of the two new loan signings, Danny Rose and Georges Santos, are eligible to play because of the FA Trophy rule that only players who had been signed in time for the original game are allowed to play in replays. In addition, Phil Gilchrist limped out of Saturday's match shortly after half time, and he will be out for around a month, joining Eddie Hutchinson, Chris Willmott, and Steve Basham as medium-term injuries. There is still enough flexibility in the remainder of the squad to allow Smith to field a strong side, and it is possible that Marvin Robinson, who has been out since 18 September, could feature at some stage. Also in with a shout are midfielder Josh Kennet and defender Andy Gunn, who both made their United debuts coming off the bench in the New Year's Day defeat at Exeter.

If we thought that United had injury problems, we should be thankful that we're not Lewes, who could well have to play an outfield player in goal tonight. Their regular keeper, Aaron France, is still suffering from a dislocated shoulder and is unlikely to be risked, while his replacement, David Blackmore, who played so well in the first game between the sides, has been recalled from his loan by West Ham, with whom he is due to sign professional forms. The Rooks' third-choice keeper, Jack Stern, is off to the USA to do a scholarship, and can't play because of a clause in that agreement. Meanwhile, the FA has refused Lewes permission to sign an emergency cover because of the same Trophy rule that prohibits Rose and Santos from playing. It also prevents Lewes's new striker, Chris Sharpling, who signed on non-contract terms from Woking, from taking part. In addition, Lewes also have fitness doubts over former Rushden pair Jean-Michel Sigere and Simon Wormull. To top all that, Lewes are also in turmoil behind the scenes, with chairman Terry Parris quitting yesterday for family reasons, with no successor yet appointed. All this points to a United win, despite the club's current poor form in the Conference. Everyone at the club knows that anything less than a win is unacceptable, and Rage Online believes that the players will get the message and stroll to a healthy 3-0 victory.
