Re: Scottish 1-2-3: 13th Jan

I bever knew One was suspened for Raith tomorrow. By my reckoning that means McManus for Raith will be the only recognised 1st team striker on the pitch tomorrow. I wonder where Harty is gonna turn up? There's talk of him signing for someone for tomorrow. Ive tried to lay off the over 2.5 on betfair at 1.75. Still unmatched. I dont know what im doing really

Re: Scottish 1-2-3: 13th Jan

I'm going to have a decent gander over this thread and news later but teams that interest me this week are

Gretna, Cowdenbeath, Ayr, Brechin and Berwick.

Gretna gubbeb Partick twice already, Cowdenbeath already beat PH 4-2 at home and home record isn't bad where as PH poor on the road.

Ayr out of sorts but have beaten Forfar twice already, Brechin going well against a stuttering Stranraer and Berwick form team from the Division

The half ball is used so that the bet can only have 2 outcomes. If there's 2 goals or less in a match bet loses, if there's 3 goals or more the bet wins.

First Division
Stephen Dobbie has forsaken Dumbarton and joined Queen of the South. Granted he was only on loan at the Sons, but still, it's like cold ash in the mouth I tell you. Meanwhile, Queens have also signed Jamie McQuilken from Gretna, but I don't care about that, I'm still too upset at the Dobbie signing. Eleven he scored for the Sons, ELEVEN.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Second Division
Paul Mathers and Bobby Linn (or Lynn depending in who you believe) have joined up at Cappielow. Morton manager Jim McInally said of the variably spelled striker: "He's sharp up front and has a good eye for goal." That should come in handy then.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Third Division
Elgin eh? Bit of a disaster area, though they did manage to lose 5-4 to Deveronvale in a rather spectacular cup game. But they've got a new manager now. Yup, Robbie Williamson has signed on after leaving Inverness Clachnacuddin. Wonder what difference that'll make. Very little I should imagine.

Well Dumbarton plainly worried Celtic in the Scottish Cup tie, making the Bhoys work for a good two minutes before they finally broke down the rear-guard to notch that all important opening goal. It was on a knife edge until then. *sigh*

Re: Scottish 1-2-3: 13th Jan

Hi all!
What do you think about Elgin away to Stenhousemuir? Elgin have won their last two league games and Stenhousemuir have lost their two last league games. Centrebet gives me the odds 5,50 for a away victory. Nice?

Cowdenbeath home to Peterhead could also be a pick this weekend.

Re: Scottish 1-2-3: 13th Jan

Cowdenbeath i like Towers especially if Markus P is playing his last game for them. Elgin at Stenhousemuir i just don't know about. Nelson is back for them i believe and i think they won about 75% of their games last season when he was playing. Both these teams let me down this week and i really cant fathom what Stenhousemuir are all about./ One week their brilliant the next theyre murder. They could well bounce back today or they could show what a bunch of duds the olld manager bought Towers. As mentioned before Stenhousemuir signing a pal of mine Darren Henderson who's 40 from a junior side to me shows how far they seem to have fallen. No offence to Darren but i dont thinkl he'd even have expected to play in the SFL anyone. I think the best bet in that one would be the goals. 1.55 aint a great price for that though even.

I suppose there could be a bit of value in the away especially with Johnstone's goals and talisman Nelson back. I need to check iif he played the whole 90 mins of the cup game last week as i dont think he duid. Actually someone else can as i aint getting involved and my internet is still really slow with these viruses.

Stranraer brechin is on so im gonna have a look at that one. Here's East Stirling team news for someone who asked-

Quote:
East Fife Preview
Shire travel to New Bayview tomorrow, weather permitting, to play current Third Division Leaders East Fife. Despite two chastening defeat at the hands of Dave Baikie's team this season Firs Park coach, Gordon Wylde, is approaching the match in confident mood.
"We know it will be difficult and we will certainly have to match East Fife in the physical department, something we have not managed to do. If we are to take anything out of the game we may have to change our approach and become a bit more direct. East Fife like to get the ball over the top and in quickly and they have been very successful at it. But we can go there and take something from the match," he said.
Wylde will give Joe Savage a game as a trialist, flu permitting and will welcome back Steven Dymock after his one game ban. He is also hoping a number of the players who missed out at Albion Rovers because of illness will come back into the reckoning. But out of consideration are Paul Brownlie and Stephen Adam who have not recovered from their injuries at Cliftonhill.
The weather has been poor over the last few days but there is no word on whether there will be a pitch inspection at Methil. A decision will most likely be taken in the morning.
Shire fans should note that the seating arrangements in the stand at New Bayview have been changed, which means visiting supporters will be placed in the seats at the sea end of the ground.

Savage Still In Plans
Joe Savage should make his long-awaited Shire debut at East Fife on Saturday, provided he shakes off a dose of the flu. Boss Gordon Wylde insists the former Stenhouisemuir striker is "still in our plans" despite being unable to play for the club because games have been postponed by the weather.
"Joe is still with us," Wylde told Zebra Diary this week. "We have three games to assess him and to find out if he likes us and we like him. He is a big, awkward player and will provide us with a badly needed physical presence up front. He certainly will come into the reckoning for the East Fife game but he has been suffering from the flu so we will just have to wait to see how his is.
Shire were interested in taking Savage to Firs Park last season as part of the deal which delivered Iain Diack to Stenhousemuir, but the striker opted for East Fife. He was released by Dave Baikie in the summer and signed for Albion Rovers where he started the season as a regular before falling out of Jim Chapman's plans. He has been a free agent since November and is currently weighing up one or two options although he has been training with Shire for the past three weeks.

You could just see Savage popping up with a goal couldnt you? East Fife dont concede many at home mind

Re: Scottish 1-2-3: 13th Jan

I note St J should be without big defender and captain(??) kevin james for today. Jason Scotland could be out too. It dont matter to me as i aint involved.

I can't work out if Harty has signed for Stirling today or not. im on Raith already and i fancy the unders. Having loads of viruses aint helping my concentration this morning. Im just sitting here with a big scowl on my face. Brechin never played well last time they went down to Stranraer this season
http://www.brechincity.com/bcfc/serv...102&category=2

They werer pretty under strength though.

v stranraer-

1 Craig Nelson
2 Richard Walker
3 Stuart Callaghan
4 John Ward
5 David White
6 Grant Johnson
7 Ross Archibald
8 Steve Hampshire
9 Paddy Connolly
10 Chris Geddes
11 Darren Smith

v beath last week-
1 Craig Nelson
2 Richard Walker
3 Stuart Ferguson
4 Ross Archibald
5 David White
6 Kevin Byers
7 Stuart Callaghan
8 Charlie King
9 Steve Hampshire
10 Iain Russell
11 Darren Smith

bloody hell barr Russell i think they had a better team that day Ive already taken a wee bit of Brechin so i think i'll leave it as that. I still have a wee fancy for them. Got their cup replay tuesday to think about too.

he heh heh Markus P is available for Cowdenebath. Shame betfred have moved Beath from 4/5 to 4/6 and Expekt 9/10 to 7/10. I managed to get them on betfair at 1.79.
