Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

Aye nice one Dave. It was a nice wee scare you got there for your money

Good to see Dobbie scoring for QOS. I'd like to see him do well. I knew i had thrown my money away on the overs. I just jumped at as i was expecting about 1.60. Lost half my bank

But it dont matter as i keep hearing the tiny patter of St J 4/5 St J 4/5 I need to go see if i can get this 4/5 as thats a fair price for to me and im really keen on Hibs too. I had to laugh whilst reading my C's post there. I was eating muffins (i dont remember them being so bland ) and only had the first couple of paragraphs on the screen. Aberdeen key men out 1,2,3,4, etc hibs looking good with 2 main players coming back and playing 45 minutes ..great im thinking Hibs easy then i scroll down and Mr C says-

Fancy a draw in this one....

wtf?

Nah im Hibs all the way Mr C and im worried about my confidence now as its easy to get tunnel vision. As i say per chance i read the report from the last Hibs v Aberdeen league game at hibs and though paper reports can be a bit diff depending on what paper you buy but they seemed to suggest to me in my brother's Sun (im a Mail man) That it was all hibs. I better go check a few things.

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

St Johnstone look to be 4/5 at betfair amongst others. As i say i like Ayr in cups and playing against better sides and backing st Johnstone away midweek in the cup has caused me problems in my life before so i shouldnt get involved. I like the unders (5/6 blue square) but i think my main bet will be st Johnstone to win it ht/ft. Depending on team news from St Johnstone really. I think St J have got the best first half record in their league and i can see them coming out and maybe winning by a couple of first half efforts. Veraille seems to have went off the boil for Ayr and they can't count on his goals. Ayr are no mugs in midfield (will Stepehnson be playing? ex St J too) but i think St Johnstone could have too much for them. Here's hoping. I suppose St Johnstone aint odds on shots really. Aye im for a little on the win and a little more on the ht/ft and i'll definetly be interested in Coral's 6/5 on hibs.

Lemme read a report. I wouldnt know where to begin with the premier. bah i hate signing in to official sites. Lemme read this
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/report?id=206964&cc=5739

I suppose the price is about right for Hibs but i think i'll be on them. I suppose both games are almost like tosing a coin especially if the coin had 3 faces If it had though i'd take St Johnston and Hibs.

Will hibs be missing a pair of influential players due to a dispute of sorts?

Yeah, it was a bit skinny mate. I haven't got round to opening more betting accounts yet, so haven't really had the chance to shop about for better odds. Will sort that out this weekend probably.

Im just happy with the win tbh. Bastards made me sweat for it though.

Regarding Hibs-Aberdeen on Thursday, below are the last 6 h2hs in the league. First Cup game last week was 2-2, so can add that in as well.

Hibernian 00Aberdeen 02/01/2007
Aberdeen 21Hibernian 30/10/2006
Hibernian 11Aberdeen 29/07/2006
Aberdeen 40Hibernian 29/04/2006
Aberdeen 10Hibernian 08/04/2006
Hibernian 12Aberdeen 14/01/2006

Aberdeen are actually 1-2-0 away to Hibs, probably because they are the type of team they don't like to play against; tight, organised. compact. Explains some of Hibs results against teams like Killie and ICT too. Matches between the two have been 3/3 for Overs/Unders in the league, 4/3 if you count the first cup game at Pittodrie as well.

Will wait to see some team news before deciding on betting or not.

Fancy a draw in this one....
mmm Byrne long term injury and we had done well without him. Diamond out of the picture and if fit would be on the bench, Smith yes he is a major miss i agree with that and Brewster to me is a guy you take off the bench with 20 mins to go but has class but very slow. Aberdeen a playing fucking shite at the moment really bad patch we are going through - i fancy hibs although we have a great record there and seem to be a bogey team to hibs but so was Killie and hibs played kids in that game and won.

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

Dont mind me fellas im still on about tonight's game here. :smack ive been such a fool. I bloody wasnt thinking about this being a replay at all. I can't belive i missed this. The boring 0-0 at St Johnstone where Saints could have played all day and not scored and ayr were never likely to either.

ayr
http://www.ayrunitedfc.co.uk/index.a...t&matchid=4403

st j
http://www.stjohnstonefc.co.uk/match...p?ResultID=306

p&b
http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/lo...hp/t51138.html

Interesting that Vareille is suspended for this one. As the reports say Ayr's midfield done ok without possibly their 2 best players in Weaver and Stevenson in the midfield but the enthusiasm from the 2 they brought in caused St J some problems. I know ayr do well in the cups and their my first team in scotland since i was a kid but their home form has let them down this season even during times between playing well on the road. Im getting 1.98 at betfair on st Johnstone and im away to take it shortly dortly.

ht/ft 3.25 i love it. Yip i's gonna be tight and im just betting in St j and J Scotland getting the job done for ht. Im almost backing against myself here in having a couple of points on the under 2.5. Nah actually i am backing against my other bets with the unders. Bollocks it could just be straight win and the unders or straight win and the ht/ft. I dont know and now the draw is starting to worry me.

Ayr at home-

Scottish League Cup Ayr 2-0 Berwick 09-08-2006
Scottish Division 2 Ayr 0-4 Cowdenbeath 12-08-2006
Scottish League Challenge Cup Ayr 2-1 Livingston 15-08-2006
Scottish League Cup Ayr 0-0 Dunfermline 22-08-2006
Scottish Division 2 Ayr 0-2 Stranraer 26-08-2006
Scottish Division 2 Ayr 1-2 Peterhead 09-09-2006
Scottish Division 2 Ayr 1-0 Raith 30-09-2006
Scottish Division 2 Ayr 0-0 Stirling 14-10-2006
Scottish Division 2 Ayr 5-0 Forfar 28-10-2006
Scottish Division 2 Ayr 0-1 Alloa 11-11-2006
Scottish Division 2 Ayr 1-2 Brechin 02-12-2006
Scottish Division 2 Ayr 0-1 Morton 30-12-2006
Scottish Division 2 Ayr 1-0 Stranraer 02-01-2007

League form makes me happy seeing that any half decent side can go there and get a win. The cup games are another thing though. 2-0 v Brechin and that win v Livi. Ahhh from memory Livi were one up that night and missed some glorious chances to be 2 or 3 up for ht. The Dunfermline game i'll have to look into.

St J away-

Scottish Division 1 Queen of Sth 0-1 St Johnstone 12-08-2006
Scottish Division 1 Partick 1-5 St Johnstone 09-09-2006
Scottish League Challenge Cup Morton 3-2 St Johnstone 12-09-2006
Scottish Division 1 Livingston 1-1 St Johnstone 23-09-2006
Scottish Division 1 Dundee 1-1 St Johnstone 30-09-2006
Scottish Division 1 Clyde 1-0 St Johnstone 28-10-2006
Scottish League Cup Rangers 0-2 St Johnstone 08-11-2006
Scottish Division 1 Airdrie Utd 2-1 St Johnstone 18-11-2006
Scottish Division 1 Ross County 2-2 St Johnstone 22-11-2006
Scottish Division 1 Gretna 2-0 St Johnstone 02-12-2006
Scottish Division 1 Hamilton 2-2 St Johnstone 16-12-2006
Scottish Division 1 Livingston 3-2 St Johnstone 13-01-2007

Not spectacular but on their day. Sod im bankng on it to be their day and im for the away win, 2/2 and a wee bit on the under 2.5 and im praying for a full house. Just a wee bit on the 2.50 as ive a feeling the game could be played a diff way for Ayr as they'll be missing Veraille. It could actually help them. They'll have 2 up front instead of playing to the lone striker and it could open Ayr up a bit.

St Johnstone To Win @ 1.98 Betfair in a fair bet
St Johnstone ht/ft @ 3.25 in a bigger bet

infact im away to add a wee bit more to each bet as i need to strike when the iron could be hot and i like the prices. All i can now hope for is things going to plan and no lady luck getting involved

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

I earmarked ST JOHNSTONE as a great bet this midweek but feel a bit undone by Brechin's loss last night. All betting logic that I had suggested that Cowdenbeath wouldnt win. Now we have St Johnstone available at EVENS against a team who were not up to that much v Forfar at the weekend. They have struggled at home but then the SUper J's aint that much better away. At least they score though and they do have Peter McDonald to come in for Savo Milne in this.

Ach what the heck:

25pts ST JOHNSTONE 2.02 BETFAIR

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

Just not long back from Spar Kegman and it wasnt too bad. A wee bit of wind. somerset park is a bit open but i can't see the wind playing too much a part. I can hear the wind quite loudly blowing down my chimney though. I suppose its pretty windy but not as bad as its been

Good luck to us Mr C. We might just need it

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

Can anyone talk me out of putting all my money on Hibs tonight? Ive been waiting weeks for this one and i think i may just be following it a bit blinkered and im being wreckless. 2.14 the home win and 1.98 the under 2.5 im lookinmg at. All this is based on me reading 2 reports on the last game

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

Sorry Komp, can't put you off it cos I'm on it as well.

I posted the last 6 h2hs elsewhere and Hibs haven't beaten them at Easter Road in the last 3 games (2 draws and a defeat for them), but reading about how Aberdeen have some injuries and guys like Russel Anderson are 50/50 for tonight, makes me think they'll change that. Should be a tight game like the rest of them but I fancy Hibs to take it.

Hopefully............

Re: Scottish Cup:16th - 18th Jan

ok fcuk im soz Dave i forgot you and milners posted up about the hibs game before i went on about the ayr v St J game. I'll go read. Noticed this mentioned on p and b before the Aberdeen v ICT game

Quote:
I hope we work on our passing in training for the rest of the week, because Hibs outshone us in that department in the SC game
http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/lo...hp/t51359.html

It ended 1-1 with aberdeen needing a late equaliser didnt it? (EDITTED : to say i mean Aberdeen v ICT) shit i better read up the thread.

I cant find a report on the game. I'll see if they say anything more on that thread.

Quote:
Brewster going off was a bit of a blessing in disguise as we stopped playing long balls for him to knock down
Maybe it will help them him being out no? How's Hibs being playing?
