aye, when your talking about the shops its hard because it depends who you are dealing with or whether they have a hangover or not :P

In my experience moving it up is usually a bad thing if its not necessary. If a manager wants to pay you out on something but its above their discretionary limit then they will try to talk their boss into paying you but generally further up care about the money and the higher you go the less likely to get paid you are, if your nice to the staff about it they are more likely to help you out cause they dont care about the money.
