Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 18th /19th May

Any thoughts on tonights game?

I am siding towards Derby on the back of their 3-1 win over Preston in the last league game of the season. Plus they need to go for it tonight being 2 down.

Interesting stat on Preston, they have only failed to score once in their last 22 league and play off games. Over 2.5 possibly? We have only had 2 games going over out of the 9 play off games so far. However neither side has a particularly strong trend to over (or under).

Derby got a couple of players missing who might make the difference. Personally I wouldn't be backing Derby either to win tonight or to qualify. I think Preston will probably avoid defeat tonight

That will be this lot Zonker

Quote:
Derby go into the second leg of the play-off semi-final minus four key men.

Chris Makin is still nursing the heel injury he sustained three weeks ago and joins Inigo Idiakez, Grzegorz Rasiak and Michael Johnson on the sidelines.

Preston's Graham Alexander is facing a race against time to be fit because of a thigh injury.

Callum Davidson could return after a calf injury, but goalkeeper Andy Lonergan and midfielder Eric Skora are both long-term absentees.

Rasiak and Making missed the 3-1 league game but Idiakez played, and scored, in that game.

Crowie, forget the league game mate. Preston fielded an under strength team because they knew they were in the play offs anyway. This is a different proposition.

Idakez and Rasiak are THE two most important players for Derby and they will both be missing. Add to that the fact that Pablo Mills is likely to start and he would look out of place in a kids playground because he's fucking clueless and I doubt that Derby can win, never mind overcome a 2 goal deficit.

Anyway, as I say you can disgregard the last game of the season.

My thoughts exactly. Last game Derby scored in injury time to make it 3-1 and with Preston fielding weak side - it showed in first leg and with the other players missing - Derby have to attack and will leave gaps at the back.

If Preston score first - tie over and Derby will not be interested.

6 units @ 11/5 on Preston
1/2 unit on Preston to win 4-1 @ 100/1

My friends a big big Derby fan and he has warned me to never bet on Derby when Idiakez is missing. The games ive watched, everything goes through him and he is their playmaker. Gets his fair share of goals, and lots of assists. Raziak is a big player too mind you and like said, i wouldnt touch Derby tonight, might dabble in running with Preston for a goal or too.

Well can you believe it - Idiakez AND Rasiak both start. Now its either mind games been beeing player or they have been rushed back as a last throw of the darts. Im not going to put on any bets until about 15 mins in as i want to see how they fare early on.

Im starting to really like the over 2.5 goals at 10/11 now.

Yeah I fancy Preston to do enough to go through tonight.

As many have said already Derby are missing key players. The BBC website is quoted as follows.

Quote:

Chris Makin is still nursing the heel injury he sustained three weeks ago and joins Inigo Idiakez, Grzegorz Rasiak and Michael Johnson on the sidelines.

Preston to qualify are a paltry 1.20 so there is no value there.

Maybe the best value is on the away win at 3.40?

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 18th /19th May

Good opening start - ended up going with over 2 goals at 10/11.

I dunno why but i have a sneaky feeling Derby might sneak it. Dont think they will win by 3 in normal time. Think it might come down to extra time. If they can prevent PNE from scoring they have every chance. Looks like its going to be top game. PNE seem to be going for it!
