Re: Scottish 1-2-3 Leagues - 13th Aug

I think players and managers etc would maybe not want to be known to be involved in betting forums Kiko. Obviously you get them but i would think theyd try to keep their identity hidden. Anyone remeber Turn05 that used to post on our old forum? I believe that to be Turnball who is now at Stranrear from Stirling (or Stirling from Stranraer one of the two)

Most players and ex players ive met over the years couldnt pick their arse imo. Just personal experiance. I aint saying they are all shit but maybe being too involved can influence things.

I fear the draw Kiko too much mate. Just gonna chance the ht Kiko but the 13/8 in my local Hills could scream BET ME as i put on my coupon and i could oblige

Exclusive SFL chiefs bid to stamp out match-fixing crisis

By Gordon Parks

FOOTBALL chiefs have written to every Scottish League club in a bid to stamp out the betting scandals engulfing our game.

After a spate of match-fixing allegations involving lower league sides the SFL have ordered a clamp down on players gambling, pledging to hammer anyone flaunting the rules.

Record Sport understands at least one senior club has been severely warned over its future conduct.

SFL President John Smith said: 'Rule 74 has always been in place and the letter is a timely reminder of what standards of conduct we expect from our members with regard to betting.

'There is no doubt that some clubs were flying pretty close to the wind and anyone doing the wrong thing will be held accountable for their actions.

'The rule states that no player is allowed to bet on any football outcome other than the pools and it's a rule which will be enforced if the evidence is there to do so.'

Last season Elgin and Queen's Park were cleared after an investigation

by beaks over suspicious betting patterns before the Spiders' 1-0 win at Hampden in April.

Raith Rovers were also the subject of an investigation after losing a meaningless fixture to Ayr United in 2004.

Bookies were stung when every penny of the £250,000 staked was for Ayr to win.

League secretary Peter Donald asked the Association of British Bookmakers to investigate but the club was eventually cleared.

And Morton were forced to launch an internal investigation two seasons ago after some fans accused players of backing themselves to lose the Second Division.

Donald claimed the letters were dispatched along with others as a matter of routine.

But there is little doubt the suspicion over many results in the lower leagues is a concern.

Donald said: 'We sent the letter which is one of a batch of others and there is no suggestion of there being anything untoward in that

Just reading Airdrie will be without Wille Mclaren today. I might take Ross in some sense. Prob ht as im ht mad this week and i remember reading during the week that Ross County have been concentrating on starting games well. Good well go in 1 up at airdrie. 19/10 was the price i think.

Re: Scottish 1-2-3 Leagues - 13th Aug

Just the two for me today

Gretna to beat Raith at 1.91 with Premierbet.

Gretna showed no stopping their Div 3 form when rattling 5 past Forfar last weekend. Grady has already got off the mark with a couple of goals this season and will be a player in this level.

Raith came down from Div 1 at end of last season so it could be argued that this is a team from a league higher playing a team from a league lower. However I have always said that Gretna players such as Grady, Nicholls, Tosh, Main, Innes and especially Bingham could all be regulars in most 1st Division sides. Contrast that with a Raith side who were terrible last season and I also don't think will be challengers at this level.

Until Gretna show some signs of weakness I will look to be on them most weeks, especially if prices like this are available.

The other is old favourites East Stirling opposing them with a Berwick who have hit 8 in their 2 games so far. 1.40 was about at Stan James, missed that but was on earlier in the week at Bet365's 1.364.

I think you should probably go with the Peterhead Komp as the odds seem a little generous but I reckon Partick are going to be tough to beat. Like I said, I'm going to wait and see with Peterhead in the coming weeks. Good luck though matey.

Re: Scottish 1-2-3 Leagues - 13th Aug

QOS come out a bit handy.

St Mirren piling on the pressure all the time v Stranraer. Sounds all St Mirren.

22mins gone at Forfar sounds like no chances...oh Verisalle hit the bar for Ayr. About even ayr started solidly.

All Gretna, Deauchar could have had a hat rick.
