Re: English Prem 1st/2nd October

Yeah id do the 0-1 goals in the Liverpool v Chelsea game doubled with something (like the Wigan v Bolton 0-1 goals Christianu suggested). That would give you about the £40 you want off a £6 bet if it came in

Re: English Prem 1st/2nd October

Well thats the Hammers down too, really fancied em aswell but for 60 minutes Sunderland were well on top, aint gonna touch them for a few weeks now as it looks like the partys over for them and they do look dodgey at the back, Ferdinhand must be the slowest centre half i've ever seen.

Sunderland you can tell are a confidence team and looked well on top untill they gave a goal away against the run of play , then they nearly crumbled, if it wasent for West Hams lack of midfield support then they would have thrown it away.

Will be interesting to see who these two play next but i wont be backing either.

Some good games tomorrow , i'm gonna have my takeaway then i'll give my thoughts,l8r.

Same here powpp , fancy em too but i need to read up on who's playing b4 i give any thoughts.

Re: English Prem 1st/2nd October

Sun Games

Man City v Everton 1 @ 1.83 bet365, 2's @ befair

Just backed City for a bit more interest while i watch the game. looking at Citys team news i wouldent recommend it to anybody else truth be told were still short up front, Cole could return but i've heard that before and now Barton is a doubt which if he isnt playing will be a big miss as he's been our most consistent player all season.
Everton desperate for points will no doubt be giving it there all, hopefully they will be a bit jaded after Thurs Euro exit and begin to tire as the game goes on. they didnt play to badly on thursday but its hard to judge just how well due to the quality of the opposition who had a 4 goal lead thus happy to sit on it.

will be an interesting game and one City should win if they put there chances away as they do create a hell of a lot, if they were playing a better side i would suggest <2.5 goals but Evertons defence isnt great and City havent kept a clean sheet since the opening day of the season.

Re: English Prem 1st/2nd October

Wigan v Bolton 1 @ 2.6 bet365

All rds lead to a Wigan Victory here, Bolton looked shattered after they last played a thurs euro game and even though they beat City 0-1 it should have been 4 or 5 to City, they were totally outplayed and just not at the races.
This coupled with some major absentees for Alladyce with now his main player Nolan doubtfull is turning into a nightmare. Speed will be missed due to his workrate and experience same too with Campo who was starting to have a good season and Hunt another first on the team sheet player who was one of their top players last yr.

Wigan on the other hand have really impressed this season mainly due to the tactics of Paul Jewell who is showing just how good a manager he is and isnt just content to survive in the prem but willing to take the big boys on and go on and win. the team like Charlton play for each other 110% and have a good work ethic and dont seem to tire. They have a fully fit squad and will take the game to Bolton who on a few occasions lately have survived on luck as they dont seem to be firing on all cylinders but that wont last forever and they will start to get what is due.

Re: English Prem 1st/2nd October

Think City might nick this. They're finally stringing a few passes together and Everton might flag in the last 20 minutes given the workrate they went through on Thursday. Have had a small nibble on City at 2.98 In Running on Betfair

Re: English Prem 1st/2nd October

Forgive me if I dont join in the party

Yet again our heads went down when we conceded. I would say we were a bit unlucky but the fact is we didnt look like scoring once so you cant complain

With Spurs away coming next (bogey ground, havent won there since the 80s) and Chelsea looks like we'll be bottom for a while yet

Re: English Prem 1st/2nd October

VILLA v BORO

Aston Villa will be without striker Kevin Phillips (calf), right-back Aaron Hughes (hernia) and midfielder Lee Hendrie (knee).

But Villa are set to be boosted by the return of striker Milan Baros, who has recovered from an Achilles problem.

Boro hope Mark Viduka will be available after missing the 0-0 draw with Xanthi because of an Achilles injury.

But keeper Mark Schwarzer (shoulder) and defender Ugo Ehiogu (groin) are doubtful and Ray Parlour (knee) is out.

Aston Villa (from): Sorensen, Taylor, Samuel, Mellberg, Ridgewell, Cahill, Bouma, Milner, Berger, Bakke, Davis, De La Cruz, Djemba-Djemba, Barry, Baros, Angel, Moore.

Middlesbrough (from): Jones, Knight, Xavier, Queudrue, Pogatetz, Southgate, Riggott, Parnaby, Bates, Doriva, Boateng, Rochemback, Mendieta, Morrison, Johnson, Kennedy, Hasselbaink, Yakubu, Viduka, Maccarone.

Villa only won 1 in 12 in prem, losing 6 in last 10
....but only lost 1 in 8 @ home
Boro only won once in 11 @ Villa, 2-0 in 2003
All of Villas 6 prem goals this season have come in the first half, 5 in the opening 11 minutes
Boro have 6 draws in last 13 in prem
Boro have only won once after a midweek UEFA cup tie (from 9).....3-0 @ home v Villa last season
Boro have conceded 3 times in the last 10 minutes, including 2 in injury time
Boro only won twice in 15 away games.

Just been announced that Hasslebaink & Maccarone on the bench for Boro, with Yakubu & Nemeth starting, & I thought I heard that Baros was out, but not sure.

Big game for both sides, if not for anybody else ODM reckons its a dead cert draw, but I think Villa can sneak this, but it'll be close IMO.
Both sides have injury problems but it really is a must-win game for Villa, sitting just above the glass ceiling above the relegation zone, & we'll be looking over our shoulders if we struggle here, particularly with Blues up next where were due some luck...but always embarass ourselves tbh

Hughes will be a big loss as he was one of only 4 to have played throughout this season. Delaney is back but is he match fit ?? Bakke is also in the squad but were not holding our breath

Stats do back up the draw I feel but I think Villa can maybe steal a march here & I think I'll back my boys, maybe also to score first & a 0-0 saver

Under 2 goals @ 15/8 - 1.5pnts
Villa to win by 1 goal @ 3/1 - 2pnts
First goal 1-10 minutes @ 7/5 - 1.5pnts
First goal 81-FT @ 25/1 - 1pnt
0-0 saver @ 15/2 - 2pnts

all Bet365

Re: English Prem 1st/2nd October

Aston Villa
T Sorensen, U De la Cruz, O Mellberg, L Ridgewell, W Bouma, J Milner, S Davis, G Barry, P Berger, J Angel, L Moore
Subs: J Samuel, S Taylor, E Djemba-Djemba, G Cahill, E Bakke

Middlesbrough
B Jones, A Xavier, G Southgate, C Riggott, E Pogatetz, G Mendieta, G Doriva, G Boateng, F Rochemback, S Nemeth, A Yakubu
Subs: D Knight, J Hasselbaink, S Parnaby, M Maccarone, F Queudrue

Yup, Baros didnt make it & neither did Delaney never have liked De La Cruz at the back but the fact that I'm posting this when the ko's 11 minutes away shows I dont see enough of him tbf

Big problems with Villas pitch it appears. It hasnt been relayed since 1995, so it is very hard & dry & apparently this is causing Villas injury problems. Its probably being exaggerated but having worked in the industry it does add up to a certain extent. Footballers generally want their pitches rolled which obviously increases consolidation, but the way it should be done is to keep airaeting it by spikikng, slitting etc, which relieves this problem.
To put this in perspective Wilf Bouma couldnt play in the game immediately after his debut as he was aching so much from bouncing off the pitch.

Anyway, lesson over........
