Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 15th Oct - No Odds Req!

Clyde are no mugs but Hamilton are in form and will enjoy the wide open spaces of Broadwood. Hamilton about 5/4 i'd say maybe shorter with Hills. Evens poss. Clyde might have their supporters too but i still could follow the Hamilton away from home show.

Scottish League Challenge Cup Queen's Park 0-3 Hamilton 30-07-2005
Scottish Division 1 Brechin 1-2 Hamilton 06-08-2005
Scottish Division 1 Ross County 0-0 Hamilton 20-08-2005
Scottish League Cup Motherwell 2-1 Hamilton 23-08-2005
Scottish League Challenge Cup Ross County 0-1 Hamilton 30-08-2005
Scottish Division 1 Stranraer 1-2 Hamilton 10-09-2005
Scottish Division 1 Queen of Sth 1-2 Hamilton 24-09-2005
Scottish League Challenge Cup St Johnstone 1-2 Hamilton 27-09-2005

Reid has them playing well and they look pretty solid as youd expect from a Reid team. Got attacking options too. Hard team to play.

Dundee will be about 4/7 to beat Stranraer and i reckon they will. Could be on their way back. Stranraer have bust me a couple of times this season but think Dundee will be too strong fr them. Stranraer beat Dundee in thecup and it cost Duffy his job. to me that game was just bad luck from reading reports and Stranraer yet again got a bit jammy and ran out 3-1 winners.

QOS v Airdrie not one to get me over excited but i could take Airdrie at about 11/8. Nah its got draw written all over it. Need to lok at it but a bit dodgy.

St Johnstone will be about 1/2 to beat Brechin and i couldnt take that. St Johnstone aint impressing me as i thought they would this season. Brechin could be happy with a draw here.

St Mirren v ross is a corker and one i wont be on. Top of the table stuff with Ross being the better team on the road. Poss some interesting h2h's on this one from memory lemme look...nah not really
http://www.soccerbase.com/head2.sd?t...7&team1id=2475

Ayr v Alloa is one i'll be getting involved in. Bloody ayr. Need to read up on yesterdays game but play as shite as they might last few games theyre still scoring goals and Vareille is loving it. I'd love to be on the away but i dunno as Ayr are worth at least 2 goals a game. Maybe Ayr could follow up and trounce alloa as Morton, Gretna and Partick did. Seems like they suffer when playing against a good attack and even if it is just Vareille. ayr are gonna get a few. I aint touching this one but the over on the goals would be of interest to me. Then again Ayr at home seem a bit cagier than away. Nah no bet on this at all for me. I reckon Ayr will be about 4/5 at best. some will go 4/6.

Dumbarton v Raith is an interesting one too. Raith about evens. Dumbarton are no mugs really so i dunno. One i wanna look at anyhow as i t seems like ages since i looked at either.

Partick v Morton is another cracking tie. Could be dodgy and ive taken Partick at home a few times this season and suffered and Morton away is well known. Sod it Raith put Partick to the sword and Morton are turning into quite a consistant side. You'll get 5/4, 11/8 on Morton and i'll probably have it. Gonna be a toughie mind.

Peterhead v Gretna - Lots to look at in this one with them both coming up last season. Gretna generally had the edge over peterhead but im sure Peterhead will have a point to prove. Gretna will be about 4/6 i reckon. Im unsure about this one.

Albion v Cowdenbeath - I'll probably take any price on Cowdenbeath this week and prob get about 10/11 and i'll be all over it. We all will surely?

Arbroath v Elgin could be an interesting one to look at. Need the reports from the weekend. Actually this is a knightmare of a game for betting on when i think about it. arbroath aint been as solid as theyve been at home last couple of seasons and Robertsons young boys of elgin could put in a performance in a cold wet and windy Gayfield. I reckon Arbroath will be shades of odds on too.

East Fife v East Stirling Seems like ages since i looked at East Stirling. They beat Albion Rovers last time 3-0 didnt they? East Fife will need to get their scoring boots on and maybe East Stirling visiting could be a start. East fife will be about 4/9 even shorter imo. 2/5 i reckon.

Montrose and Queens Pk games used to always finish in a certain scoreline. Let me go see that first. http://www.soccerbase.com/head2.sd?t...0&team1id=2096

nah it was 2 low scoring seasons there. I dunno about this. 11/8 the pair and i dunno if i would be chancing any.

Stenhousemuir v Berwick - oooooo the biggie. Makes me just wanna back Cowdenbeath all the more with these 2 meeting and Beath having the chance to makeup some ground. I reckon i could still be interested in the home here as the odds will be about 11/8 i'd say. If Cramb and co are back then i'm gonna take them to close the gap on Berwick. saying that i dont think ive looked at a league table this season

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 15th Oct - No Odds Req!

I am quite interested in FORFAR to beat Stirling Albion at home. Need to see what the odds will be but I would snap up anything around the even money mark if I were lucky to get that. Forfar have picked up recently after a poor start. They have a new manager in ray Farningham and face a shocking Stirling Albion team this weekend, who hopefully will still be without some players.
Forfar’s recent results include a 2-0 away win a Raith a 2-0 home win to Dumbarton and 3-2 home win against Peterhead. Only defeat in last 5 was at Partick away.

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 15th Oct - No Odds Req!

Quick glance over the fixtures for weekend and there is a few that i fancy although it depends on the price when bet365 gets them out first:

You have to fancy Hamilton away from home, played really well away just worry about there home form. St Mirren to beat Ross County although that could be another draw - unders might be the bet on that although that is always risky but St Mirren tight at the back and Ross County don't score much apart from last weekend - maybe worth a small punt on 0-0 although i prefer unders's bet. Dundee and St Johnstone should win and i'll be surprised if they are better than 1/2.

Might look at the Ayr vs Alloa for Overs on this, Ayr score heaps and conceed just as much at the moment - don't think 3-3 will happen again though. Like Mr Chips I think Forfar might be a decent punt if the price is right with the new manager etc. Peterhead vs Gretna - remember watching Peterhead thump them 4-2 last time, game could have gone either way but in the second half Peterhead scored 4 quick goals to go 4-1 up and Gretna got a goal near the end but Peterhead deserved there win. Still fancy Gretna to an extent but i bet there odds will be terrible and also its a long journey for them although i would think they would stay overnight like Ayr. Dumbarton vs Raith is a maybe one to dodge although Raith has played well recently and got on a decent run although Dumbarton have been decent at home.

Cowdenbeath is one i really fancied as soon as I seen it, wonder what price it will be, hopefully 4/5 at the worst. Arbroath I fancy especially if its windy as it is in Aberdeen today.

Skybet 4/6 on Beath Milners Still i reckon we'll get nearer evens than that.

Looks like Skybet have just copied my prices. Misssed the Forfar v Stirling game out somehow Mr C @ hat 4/5 on Forfar should be getting my cash too. Aye no real suprises in any of the prices Skybet offer. Here's hoping we get a couple out of line.

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 Thread - 15th Oct

Every week before every game Newall of East Stirling seem to be 'promising to make changes'. Last week he did with ex star man Ure left on the bench and they got the result v Albion Rovers. Sorry gonna go get another 4 spuds on (5min microwave) but have a read of this from http://www.zebradiary.blogspot.com/

Quote:

Shire 3 Albion Rovers 1
Iain Diack was the Shire hero with two goals in the opening 20 minutes which sank his former club. Diack's double lifts Shire to sixth place, while defeat means Rovers now take over the wooden spoon position vacated by the Firs Parkers.

Shire made four personnel changes from the team which lost to Elgin City. Derek Jackson returned in goal to replace Aaron Gillespie. Paul Tyrrell failed a late fitness test while Steven Dymock and Derek Ure were dropped to the substitutes bench. In came new signing Jordan Smith to partner Stephen Oates in the centre of defence, Andy Brand started his first game since August, while Carl Thywissen won a quick recall to the starting eleven.
Rovers made the better start and could have taken the lead in just three minutes, but striker George Wallace somehow hit a point-blank range shot straight at Jackson. Ten minutes later the same player set his team on the road to defeat by punching a Shire corner clear inside his own penalty area. His strange actions were punished by the easiest penalty kick award referee John McKendrick will ever have to make, and by Diack's confident strike from the spot.

If Diack didn't have much to do with the opening goal, the second Shire strike, on 19 minutes, was all down to him. He took the ball 30 yards from goal, turned the defender and lobbed the astonished Ewings in the visitors' goal with a perfectly-executed chip. From then on Shire were on easy street.
Andy Brand might have added a third on the half hour, but this time Ewings pulled off a great save from his low drive. At the interval Shire were well on top and fully deserved their two goal advantage. During the interval the Rovers players were kicked out of their own dressing room by irate manager, Jim Chapman, and they sheepishly hung around the centre circle for ten minutes waiting for the second half to start.

They could have pulled a goal back within a minute of the re-start. Scott Chaplain's free-kick swerved wildly, wrong footing Jackson, who had to look smart to claw the ball away. But that was the closest the visitors came to pulling anything back, and on 69 minutes Shire killed the game stone dead.
Ally Graham flicked on a long throw-in into the path of Diack. The Shire striker, with his back to goal, laid the ball neatly into the path of Brand, who shot for goal as he fell under pressure from a Rovers player. Despite that, the shot was true enough to beat Ewings and nestle in the corner of the net. Jamie MacKay sliced a clearance over his own head and into the net for a bizzarre own goal in 74 minutes, but Shire never really looked in any danger of throwing things away.

Airdrie 1 -3 Clyde
http://80.75.76.19/clydefc/matchreports.asp?id=437

Clyde were ahead a half-time but few of the travelling fans would claim they were on top

Looks like Gretna did give Dumbarton a bit of a pounding on match stats alone.

Berwick Rangers (0) 1-1 (0) Montrose
The Sunday Herald notes, "Montrose looked good and better times surely lie ahead."
http://gableendies.blogspot.com/

Hills prices out. 8/11 on Beath too 13/10 on Stenny. McBride being back too. 2/5 East Fife. Hills dont arse about with their prices. Forfar 8/11. Should be interesting. The whole place is waiting for a 4/5 on Cowdenbeath then jumping on it i reckon.

Berwick lack firepower to blow away dogged Elgin

THIRD DIVISION

LEADERS Berwick Rangers will be without injured striker Kevin Haynes for the clash of second-top Stenhousemuir on Saturday.

Berwick missed his presence in the 1-1 draw with Elgin City, failing to build on the first-half lead Kevin McLeish had given them.

They paid for their inability to increase their lead when Martin Johnston was first to the rebound when Craig Coyle had saved Gary Wood's shot and drove in an equaliser with ten minutes to go.

Berwick manager John Coughlin bemoaned the loss of two points. "I had hoped that we would be six points ahead of Stenhousemuir before we meet them next."

Im wary of Dumbartons's unbeaten home record this season. The season before last they were formidable at home and i dunno if i could back again them for now. They went to Raith in August

0-0 and Raith had the better of it

What a set of fixtures. I'm almost ready to say there is nothing I'm interested in. Find a decent price on Cowdenbeath and take it. Nah, it aint good enough. Eligin, dangerous as they are, it aint doing it for me. Nothing jumps out but bear in mind I'm 3/4 pissed so I'll have another look the moro.

Raith and Queens Park I'll be focusing on but but but........ there's nowt there really. England.

I take it back - just noticed Forfar @ 4/5 - I'd take that.
