Re: CC League 2 - 14th/15th Oct

Grimsby would like to return to winning ways this Sat and could well do to imo. Theyre tight away from home and dont give much away and will sit on a 1-0 lead. Cheltenham have been a bit of a let down lately so i'll have a look.

Northampton havent won in 5 now by my reckoning and Oxford are going well. Two teams that aint scoring many mind so the unders would appeal to me. Actually dont Northampton have a wee prob playing at home?

Frodo im sure has mentioned that his Barnet might do better on the road at the moment and chester who i dont like usually seem to do so too. Chester i never liked till last game and could have a look. Nah maybe not. Fancy dome goals.

Boston have been ok at home this season (well comparaed to their away form) the 10/11 would make me interested.

Lincoln unlucky in defeat Saturday could nick a point at Orient. Not for me.

Peterborough i do like at first glance at Macclesfield. Reading one of there top strikers should be back possibly on the bench sat for the first time this season and they dont mind a win on their travels if my memory serves me well.

Thats about me i reckon. Peterborough, Grimsby and Boston.

whadayareckon?

Re: CC League 2 - 14th/15th Oct

I'd keep well away from Barnet at the moment, I see them every week and just can't get close to making any accurate predictions. I've thought there were going to be a few goals in both our last two games but they ended 0-0. We don't have a settled side yet I'm expecting Chester to be massively overrated.

Not going near it I'm afraid, given my recent record of predicting (but fortunately not staking anything) Barnet games and having called Chester overrated it's probably best to go with a massive away win.

I'm going to be looking into Wrexham against Torquay I think, we've played them both an Wrexham were by far the better team although I gather they still have a long injury list. We fielded a stronger team against Wrexham too.

After that it's Grimsby for me, assuming they have Kalala back they can bore Cheltenham into submission. Cheltenham's forwards aren't great and their defence is I think suseptable to errors, I can see Grimsby keeping a clean sheet, not so sure about Cheltenham.

I used to post these over at old PL, always found 6 match form handy when the league tables had started to take a bit of shape.

Re: CC League 2 - 14th/15th Oct

Cheers Crowie. Looking at it makes Boston look even better to me. Yes they can let you down etc but surely they are primed for this one? Bristol Rovers were lucky in their away win the other week wernt they?

Crowie do you have any six match form tables that includes league position? I always like a wee look at that too when i look at it. I aint being fussy am i? Oh and have you got a nice red one? thought it would go with the forum. We should get some curtains in for general chat.

Frodo i was wary of Wrexham as usually i would be straight in on them at home. Its one of them teams i used to just pick at home whilst pin-sticking a bit pre-net days. Souns bad dont it Aye errr the injury list for both teams was what id be interested in.

Peterborough are 15/8. I could be after some of that.

Nah, sorry Komp, those are just all out of my Soccer Stats Tracker software, available HERE (Toni is a good lad and deserves every penny he makes ) and don't have the current league position in that table.

Would be interesting as you say, I am sure there are a couple of web based 6 match form tables which would have the current positions alongside 6 match ones.

Re: CC League 2 - 14th/15th Oct

Hi Komp,

had a look into the Boston game and would be a bit worried about the draw.

Rovers have been in pretty good form (2-1-1) since Atkins left and Trollope took over and the players are falling over themselves saying how much the atmosphere in the dressing room has improved and they really seem to be working for him.

Boston have only scored 5 goals in their last 5 games and have drawn 3 of their last five homes. I'm assuming Noel Whelan and Nathan Abbey will both be missing too after being sent off last Sat - Rovers are pretty much at full strength i think.

If Junior Agogo decides to play Rovers might have enough to score and thats enough to put me off i'm afraid

Cheers THM. Definetly food for thought and them 2 suspensions makes things look a little dif. Aye i think im with you thm and can think it wont be that straightforward getting it in. Think i'll look elsewhere. Thanks and welcome thehandicapman

Cheers Crowie. I thought you was just lifting it from somewhere as i would do Looks like a nice wee bit of software. Ive got http://www.leaguepad.com/ for the aussie leagues last season. Probably could put it back to some use at some point.

I'll et the team news up later this affy and look at this league again. I know i aint gonna go up town tomorrow and this will affect my picks and i'll be on here looking for something thats an ok price at Hills

Re: CC League 2 - 14th/15th Oct

I was interested in Oxford but the midfield crisis puts me off. I can see this being a dour 0-0 game.

Quote:
Northampton v Oxford
Northampton will be without Luke Chambers, Petr Mikolanda, Ryan Gilligan and Brett Johnson at Sixfields.
But Sean Dyche has shrugged off a hamstring injury and Martin Smith is in line to start after putting his long-term injury worries behind him.

Oxford are facing a midfield crisis ahead of the trip to Northampton with three central players out of action.

Lee Bradbury (ban), Chris Hargreaves (ribs) and Stuart Gray (ankle) are all on the sidelines.
Anyone fancy Grimsby to bounce back? Isnt there some glaring holes in Cheltenham's form lately?

Quote:
Cheltenham v Grimsby
Northern Ireland midfielder Grant McCann is back for Cheltenham after returning from international duty.

Ashley Vincent is expected to return to training next week as he continues his recovery from a knee injury but John Finnigan remains sidelined.
Grimsby defender Gary Croft is still struggling with a knee injury so will not make the trip to Cheltenham.

Club captain John McDermott is expected to be passed fit while Jean-Paul Kalala is back from international duty.

Re: CC League 2 - 14th/15th Oct

I was interested in Oxford too Komp but Northampton are finding a bit of form now, 7/2 might be just about right.

Cheltenham are the most average and inconsistent side in this division- dunno what to expect in that game.

Im on Stockport at 3/1 but I seriosuly couldnt give you a decent reason

Shrewsbury vs Stockport 1pt@3/1

Youre a crazy one Christianu

I know that you know this but Stockport have won 1 out of 14 this season and Shrewsbury are unbeaten in their last 6 at home. I guess youre going for the theyve gotta win sometime type card huh

Good luck with this one mate, I swear you mustve bunged off the Shrews players!

If Stockport win then

Re: CC League 2 - 14th/15th Oct

I know this is the wrong thread - but I can't seem to start my own and I have seem good info about the U16 - England Wales match tonight.

Basically, 2/1 at betfair - and england at this level are on a fair run of form and have better players than the welsh. Taking into account the randomness of this age group, I suggest a small dig on England.

Please don't berate me for the stray post. I did try.
