Re: Scot's 1-2-3 - Bonfire Day Cracker

I would have been thinking hard about Stirling myself, milners but the odds are absolutely screaming at me to not bother. They are picking up of late though and it seems to have started before the 3-3 with Ayr when I posted up an interview with Boyack who was sounding the battle cries and urging the team to start working extra hard and get stuck in. Here's a good site for their match reports: http://www.stirlingalbion.com/

They sound impressive against Morton and Raith but the odds...... I want better. That is two good back to back wins though..... and Alloa have been struggling badly.... eek.

I was hoping a bit higher myself, did price it at 2.5 to 2.75 i think. Already a member of there forum - nice and handy for team news lol. Thanks anyway. I had a great East Stirling forum and lost the link now - does it still exist?. Might got Komp to put on a thread with links to various Clubs website/forums that are good for info for us to judge and maybe make it a sticky - what do you think komp?

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 - Bonfire Day Cracker

Good stuff fellas. First i have to say ELGIN you on the waccy baccy Mickey? Errr anyhow.

Nah Queens Park have been better than what you say in games Mick. They missed Harvey for a couple of them and have usually just done enough. When their on their game they play to win and they'll like the closest match to a derby playing Albion rovers. Aye take out Lennon and Albion are shite. Queens Park are gonna have too much for them on the day and their my bet of the week i reckon. Best bet in weeks poss too imo.

Your a brave man going against the Saints Daik but you know what your talking about. To me St J remind me a bit of Falkirk last season (in attacking options and Coyle) and Airdrie gave them their hardest games of the season. I can see Airdrie giving them bother again but im so wary i prob wont be on it at all but good luck to you.

I'm with Milners in that its a pretty lifeless card betting wise.

Queens Park @ 5/4
Cowdenbeath @ 8/11

will be on my list no doubt.

Partick @ 11/8
Ross County @ 5/4 could be on it too.

Last week there was NO away wins i think. No draws either i think

Don't know what's funny about Elgin Komp. Did they not get a 1-1 at Berwick already? Played well too. Played well against them before that also. Berwick are shit. And it's not me saying Queens Park have been dire. If you look closely you'll notice I said those comments were coming from match reports.

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 - Bonfire Day Cracker

I keep well up on the QP match reports Mick and take them from 2 QP sites, P&B and the apposing club sites. Your just making all that up to try look investigative. Queen's Pk are the 4th best team in that league and on form they could beat anyone including all your poofy Berwicks. I reckon they'll win by 3 clear goals on Saturday after giving Gordon Lennon the run around.

Elgin are in free falll i reckon and Robertson only has his job still as his pall Black has come to their aid. Robertson has been developing this young team for near 3 seasons now and theyre getting WORSE. I'll never back elgin. ever

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 - Bonfire Day Cracker

Well the way i see it mick-

Scottish Division 3 Cowdenbeath 0-2 Queen's Park 13-08-2005
Scottish Division 3 Elgin City 2-2 Queen's Park 10-09-2005
Scottish Division 3 East Fife 1-0 Queen's Park 24-09-2005
Scottish Division 3 Montrose 0-1 Queen's Park 15-10-2005
Scottish Division 3 Stenh'semuir 1-0 Queen's Park 22-10-2005

Took Cowdenbeath to the cleaners. Beath werent at the races and QP never gave them a chance to play. 2-0 down at Elgin but should never have been really. Elgin are eternally lucky against QP last couple of seasons and their luck continued. If they had started playing before they wqere 2 down theyd have won that. East Fife is never an easy place to go and losing by the odd goal aint cause for concern. Harvey was out about then and he's their main playymaker. 1-0 is a good result at Montrose. Montorse dont give much away to anyone at home this season and i like that result. Montrose would bring QP down to their level. Then they got beaten at Stenhousemuir after a 89th minute goal and from memory they were worthy of a point at least.

Scottish Division 3 Albion 2-2 Arbroath 06-08-2005
Scottish Division 3 Albion 0-2 Stenh'semuir 20-08-2005
Scottish Division 3 Albion 2-4 East Fife 10-09-2005
Scottish Division 3 Albion 0-2 Berwick 24-09-2005
Scottish Division 3 Albion 0-3 Cowdenbeath 15-10-2005
Scottish Division 3 Albion 1-1 Montrose 25-10-2005

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 - Bonfire Day Cracker

2pts Cowdenbeath at 1.80 with Skybet

Saw the debate over wether or not to go with Beath this weekend. For me, the price is good enough.

The 1-0 tight loss at Berwick (best team in this league) broke a run of 6 games in a row winning. Their last 3 homes have seen 9 points and F11 A2 goal difference. Lets not forget that 4-1 home win over Stenny, certainly Stenny's worst result of the season. Beath are scoring goals and keeping it tight, only 3 conceded in last 7.

The way I view it is that Berwick, Stenny and Beath are the best 3 sides in this league and promotion is between those 3. Cowdenbeath have a great chance of closing the gap on the top two a little as they are actually only 5 homes games played out of 7. Stenny bounced back to form after their losses to Beath and Berwick and I expect Beath to do the same after last weekends loss.

E Fife are only 4 points behind Beath but are lopsided in home games (7 out of 12) and will drop away as they face more away games I feel.

Also, consider their recent form, last 4 games.

1-1 at home v Arbroath
3-1 at home v E Stirling
0-3 at Berwick
1-1 at home v Albion

The home games have hardly been testing yet they still couldn't beat Arbroath and more importantly, Albion. They have lost 2-1 at Stenny and 3-0 at Berwick this season proving that when they do face the better sides away, they lose. I think they are on the way to another away loss this weekend.

As for prices. Blue Sq went standout 1.80 Berwick v E Fife, the avg being about 1.67 - 1.73, Laddies as short as 1.57.

Stenny were 1.50 at Laddies/Hills v E Fife, 1.50 - 1.53 seemed the average.

If you feel that Beath are as good as Stenny and Berwick, as mentioned, then the 1.80 should be more than good enough for you in relation to what the other two sides were priced at when facing the same opposition.

You've just about swayed me back, Crowie. I do have slight worries and East Fife can make it tough but I do think 'beath are the better side. I'm just greedy I think.

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 - Bonfire Day Cracker

Mickey, when it comes to pricing I have a rough idea in my head what I want. Sometimes I get better, sometimes I am accurate, sometimes not. But once all the prices are issued by the bookies, I usually reasses what I want against whats available, look at the avg price, and then if I still think whats about is fair make the best efforts to get the best price.

Personally 2.00 would have been too high for Beath I think, especially on recent form. You can't have both great form and an outstanding price (apart from the odd one or two) and in this case, as I said above, Beath are in good form, last weekends loss apart, where as I don't think E Fife are in good form of late.

Re: Scot's 1-2-3 - Bonfire Day Cracker

Scottish Second Division: Ayr United v Gretna, Pick Gretna to be winning at HT @ 1.9 @ Victor Chandler, Stake 4 units

A short preview here as there's really not much to say. I have no doubt that Gretna will win this one but I don't particularly like the odds of 1.4ish. I did think of the -1 EH on offer at Gamebookers but I think this bet is better value.

With the exception of Alloa, Ayr have the worst defence in division 2 alongside Stirling Albion. Ayr have conceded 24 goals in their 12 league games so far and will be facing the leagues best attack and defence in the form of Gretna this Saturday.

Looking at the stats Gretna have been winning 10 of their 12 league matches at half time this season. There are 2 exceptions, Morton last weekend and surprisingly Ayr back in August.

Ayr have been losing at half time in 5 out of the 12 league matches played so far. Interestingly they have been losing at half time in 4 of their last league games.

This price is way out of line with other offerings, Bet365 offer a more sensible 1.66. I can't think of anything else to say so I'll stop rambling now.
