Re: Non-Leagues - 3/12

And to make matters worse, we've just signed another of your midfielders - Fraser Logan....

True, although he was mainly used as a sub (and even then as a striker), as we have another left winger who kept him out of the side. Would have been useful this weekend though.

Re: Non-Leagues - 3/12

are eastleighs two on trial strikers forbes and roache back for weekend games because if they arent then dorchester look worth a nibble at 10-3, eastleigh lost in extra time to leighton midweek in the trophy and dorchester do all their good work away from home. won 6 and lost 2 away from home, just looked on eastleigh website and roach is away for 6 weeks and forbes is now injured.

Re: Non-Leagues - 3/12

I agree on that bromsgrovegreen and from what I've read Forbes is out injured for sure. Still not sure, but at 4.33 it may be worth a point.

I like Thurrock v Sutton. Thurrock are getting their act together and Sutton are sliding. 3-0-1 home form plays 0-0-4 away form, with 4-1-1 0gd v 2-1-3 -2gd on last 6 games. Thurrock's goal difference is decent considering that includes their 0-6 accident at Cambridge and with the loss at home coming against Dorchester who have an amazing away record I think this is worth three points as SportingOdds have em at 1.95 :loon I think Bet365's pricing is more accurate at 1.72 to be honest. Looking on Thurrock's forum there was a post about Sutton looking very average in their midweek game (lost to Uxbridge) and general positiveness about Thurrock.

Also tempted to look into AFC Telford but I'll have to do that tomorrow as I'm away out tonight. Also might double Weymouth and Worthing but again needs forum/homepage research. I also think Witton at 1.8 stand a decent chance against a Whitby on the slide, who were average away even when they were playing well.

Taken Salisbury BTW after reading up some stuff and the info by AMP/Arfajob up above. Nice one guys.

Re: Non-Leagues - 3/12

Right, in a departure from recent weeks (due to this weekends set of fixtures I suspect) I'm gonna change it up and have 1 big double and an average size one.

My "bet of the weekend" is this with Stan James:

Weymouth / Havant Double @ 2.36 10 points

Weymouth v Bognor

You'll have to bear with me folks as I'm hungover and once again I spilt beer over my nice wooden floor by the PC and the smell of stale beer is assailing my nostrils.

Ok. Readers of the "Callling A.M.P" thread will know my thoughts regarding Weymouth and their run of excellent form.

But what of Bognor? Surly 1/2 is too short? Well, bet 365 go 1.36 and although Bognor have 2 strikers on 13 goals one of them, Luke Nightingale has been missing of late with an ankle injury. They played in the week against Ashford (Middx) (a very decent team, allbeit two levels below them) in a cup competition and squeaked a 3-2 win with a goal in the 90th minute with what was described as "an unconvinving performance". Weymouth are playing catch up at the moment and I can't see them slipping up here.

Havant v WSM

WSM are bloody awful of late. Havant are on song. WSM have lost 5 from their last eight with 2 wins and a draw making up the balance. A freak win away to Yeading and beating the whipping boys Carlshalton doesn't scare me much. I'd rather point to the massive 14 goals they've conceeded against Farnboro, Histon and Eastleigh recently. Havant are unbeaten in 7. 3 wins out of their last 4 at home and a draw with Cambridge City. WSM are serially underperforming being 17th where they are really a play-off challening team. IMO anyway with Mark Mckeever and Marvin Brown (looked a good player when he was 17). Havant were considered "dark horses" this season and are currently 3rd. Looks good to me.

Marine / Farnboro 3 point double

"I had a dream!" And so I did...Marine to win. However I have dreamt about the coupon many times before for it all to go pete tong so Jason of the fancy coat I'm not. More like Jason with the hockey mask.

Anyway, Marine are going well now in the Unibond. 4th in the league, 4 wins out of the last five and a vey credible 0-0 away to free scoring frickley. Ahh, just noticed they beat frickey (2nd) 1-0 at home last time out. Better go read the match report I suppose...Suspicisons (fcuk that's a hard one to spell) confirmed. A recent 13 match unbeaten streak ended last week loosing 1-0 at home to Blyth (who I took pre-season 33/1 e/e btw ) in what was described as a bit of a mugging.

Since ikestone have been under new management (ex top level player whose name escapes me and I can't be bothered to look to make myself look clever - if memory serves me their website is AMP unfriendly..) their results have picked up a lot. Recent losses to Frickey, Prescott and Burscough (go on ) point to the fact that they get undone (narrowly though) to the better teams in this section. i wouldn't include Prescott in this btw as they're a punters nightmare. Anyway, i'd warn people off the 4/7 but I've had a dream so i'm going to be on. You know how it is....

Farnboro

I provided a link to Eastbourne's problems earlier on in this thread. Farnboro are another team until recently were in good form. 4 home wins out of the last 5 before loosing to the Prescott of the South - Dorchester. Eastbourne are 9 games without a league win (i read a match report of them beating a team from a few levels below midweek but stil...) and havven't won away since September the 3rd. Lovely.

What else?

Well, a point on Betfair to rejuvenated Scarboro at 3.45. I back against Cambridge Utd wherever I can (like also relegated Kiddeminster lately). Apart from a form busting 1-0 at Morcambe any decent Conference team will turn them over IMO. Scarboro are now unbeaten in 4 under new management I beliive. A risky bet (hence the stake) but I'd price them up around 2/1 so I'm going to take the odds quoted.

Another risky bet for a point is Dorchester at 10/3. They should definitely not bet that price. After going on a really good run Eastleigh have lost their way big time recently. The fcukers lost me 8 points last week only drawing away to a team two levels below them in the Trophy. A wry smile was on my lips when I saw Leighton Town beat them in ET in the replay at Eastleigh in the week. serves them right. Not that I'm bitter :loon Anyway, Inconsistant Dorchester are surprisingly good away. Get this. They've scalped Farnboro, newport, Yeading, Thurrock and WSM taking maximum points from their last 5 away days. They also drew with Lewes away before beating them at home in the week (FA Trophy). 2 points for me please.

Right. Best attend to my floor. i don't mind but I'm expecting company of the female persuasion this evening and you know what they're like. Time for a fry up first.

Be lucky boys,

AMP

Re: Non-Leagues - 3/12

read in local paper that kiddy have got selection problems v dagenham, dont know any team news for daggers yet but gonna investigate further, cant remember whether daggers have lost their best 2 forwards? 9-4 could interest me as kiddy been poor this season. kiddy apparently struggling to name 16 fit players according to their website

bromley threw away a 2-0 lead. W@nkers!!!!

Still my "bet of the weekend" came in and the Weymouth band wagon rolls on...

Dorchester came in at 11/4 so all in all a pretty decent weekend.
