Re: SPL 3rd/4th December

Right i'll get started with the SPL fixtures:

Got to fancy Hibs against under pressure manager of Dundee Utd, If i can get evens or better i'll take that.

Next bet i like is Killie at a very poor Dunfermline, 5/4 is a good price for Killie how can score goals.

Forget about Hearts price.

Like Inverness away form this season, if i can get 3/1 i'll take that as a outsider.

Rangers vs Falkirk - i would think rangers should win this after watching how poor Falkirk was against Aberdeen. But they have won 3 on the trot on the road and also Rangers lose first goal and the crowd will go against Rangers. - maybe worth a put.

Aberdeen vs Celtic, Didn't rate celtic that much against Aberdeen at Parkhead and they won't like the idea of coming to pittodrie. But if Aberdeen play like they did in the first half at falkirk then i can see Celtic
winning.

Re: SPL 3rd/4th December

Dundee United v Hibs

I have to go against you with regards to the United v Hibs game Milners.

I must say i didnt expect odds of 3.50 for a start for the home win. I am now seeing 4.30 available and that is far too big for a squad that has vastly underachieved this season, and recent seasons too but do have a good bit of quality in their side.

Dundee United are a side who always step up against the top teams fo the league and with Hibs being in this bracket now i expect no different.

Hibs have looked like struggling in recent away games winning by the odd goal in their last 3 games.

United have made a real game of it earlier this season going down 2-1 at Easter Road.

Hibs are the better side by a good bit but i always never like going against United as on their day they will give anyone a good game.

I also worry that Hibs heads might be getting a bit too big after getting big results.

After a great win over Hearts there performance dropped for the next two games where they luckily scored two goals in last 10 mins i think it was for a win over Livi and then the Falkirk defeat the following game.

So in fairness, the Rangers game was a great result but was against a very very poor Rangers side so i don't think Hibs recent form has been all that impressive to be fair.

Rangers v Falkirk

Hmmm - tough this as it seems McLeish will be gone now so we have to think of priorities here.

The league is over for them i feel. They will do good to finish 3rd imo. They have 4 days rest after this for what is now their biggest game of the season at home to Inter Milan.

They have enough injuries as it is so you have to wonder how they are going to approach this game.

I would imagine players being very careful during games trying not to get injured as they won't want to miss Inter game.

Barry Ferguson missing this game too does he after being sent off?

If so this is a massive loss and he has been one of their few good players so far this season, although he has been poor by his standards.

Im interested too in Falkirks away performances so far this season.

Won their last 3 games but the ones i like are their performances against the top sides.

They got a good 3-2 victory away to Hibs and put in a fantastic second half performance.

Prior to that they have put in 2 good performances at Celtic park in the league and cup so the crowd don't seem to bother them and they seem to flourish in that kind of atmosphere.

Played Rangers once already in league ending 1-1 and from what i remember they were very unfortunate not to grab the win in that game.

The other games i am unsure of at the minute but i think i will have a small interest on either the asian handicaps or 1X united and X2 Falkirk.

Re: SPL 3rd/4th December

Nice one Kiko/Milners...

I'll do more later today but just want to point out the Killie price again...5/4 looks huuuuuuuuuuuge and like you Milners I think its a cracker.

Dunfermline had lost 9 out of 10 before Saturday, and with the best will in the world the win at Celtic Park wasn't the result of a huge turnaround in Dunfermline's game, they seem to have caught Celtic on a bad day(the only time Celtic have not scored this season) and had their best game of the season(the only time they have kept a clean sheet this season.)

In short, I don't think they can replicate that form again.

And if they can't Killie look really good right now, and pissed all over Livingston for 90 mins on Saturday.

At best I was expecting an odds on Killie here, maybe 1.90 - 1.95, but 2.25 looks huge right now.

Re: SPL 3rd/4th December

You will get Evs Hibs at Corals Milners, looks worth a punt IMO. Best away form in the SPL this season.

Would also agree with Killie as well, they are scoring now and Dunfermline are vying for the title of worst SPL side with Livingston. And Rangers

Re: SPL 3rd/4th December

Done a bit of research on Dundee Utd vs Hibs and the record at Dundee Utd ground is 2-2-6 so to hibs its a lucky ground.

Dunfermline vs Killie it more even 4-1-5 with Killie getting thumped 4-1 in last season only game.

Re: SPL 3rd/4th December

I'll take 4pts Celtic @ 1.50 with Bet365 just now.

I'm wanting to see that at the very least Nakamura is back for Celtic, but ideally Maloney(and possibly Zurawski too). Their loss last week disrupted the midfield terribly, and I think its vital that they return.

Ignoring last week's match, 1.50 for Celtic would look like a steal given the form they were on, and they haven't turned into a bad team overnight.

However, I wouldn't be backing Celtic at any less than 1.50, and it could well be that leaving the bet today means having only a top price of around 1.45 tomorrow or Friday, and if Naka or Maloney don't return then there is always the possibility to lay the bet off for a few pennies of profit or loss if needs be.

Hope it doens't come in Beanie!!!

Don't know how this game is going to go to be honest Beanie. Didn't rate Celtic when we played them at Parkhead, i've heard they have improved. I still think they aint as good as the press makes out.

It also really depends what Aberdeen turns up again. First half against Falkirk was terrible really terrible yet 1-0 up with one shot on goal. The second half we could have murdered Falkirk by 4 or 5 and thats no jokes with the chances we missed but somehow Scotsport decided not to show that and only 3 half decent chances. Thank christ for RedTV that i've subscribed to which means i can watch all games from any club in britian that has signed up for TV World. Some Aberdeen news Hart is out for 6 to 8 weeks - we maybe rushed him back too quick due to the small squad.

I was looking as Aberdeen as a outsider though as our home form isn't great but against the likes of Hearts and Rangers we have taken 4pts out of 6pts and it wouldn't surprise me if we get something out of the Celtic game.

Re: SPL 3rd/4th December

Cheers Milners...as I say its not a bet i'm convinced about either, and the likely upshot is that I'll be laying it off come Friday afternoon Saturday morning.

Bet365 are out on their own at 1.50 though, and given the usual weight of money that follows the Old Firm I doubt that price will be around come Friday when the team news comes out, so there should be the chance to lay off for no damage if necessary. Plus this also then gives the opportunity to have a Celtic side plus Nakamura, Maloney and Zurawski with 5 straight away wins with an aggregate of 14:3 @ 1.50.

Re: SPL 3rd/4th December

I reckon Celtic at 1.50 is a fair bet. Its true they're not a great team but by SPL standards are certainly the best and goals have been flowing freely home and away. Last week against Dunfermline was just one of those days that nobody can predict and I fully expect them to bounce back at Pittodrie where they have a great record. With Nakamura, Zurawski and Maloney all likely to be fit, there will be a lot more pace and mobility up front than there was with the Hartson/Sutton partnership which I've never liked as it's too pedestrian. Celtic's movement has given other SPL teams plenty of problems and its hard to see Aberdeen stopping them.

Hibs at around evens has appeal. They have been rather inconsistent of late, losing badly against Dunfermline and Falkirk, before playing the worst Rangers team I've seen in a very long time off the park last weekend. Dundee Utd are the so called perennial underachievers but its gone on too long now and the truth is they're a bad lot. If Hibs are anywhere near their best they'll blow United away.

Rangers could certainly be a lay against Falkirk and I'm not at all daft about Killie winning at East End Park. They have only won 1/6 on the road and the Pars will be boosted by recent wins against Hibs and Celtic. I know I'm in a minority on this one but it wouldn't surprise me if Dunfermline get something from this one.

Motherwell v ICT is a real teaser, while Hearts look way too short to me against Livvy.

Re: SPL 3rd/4th December

Im here to agree with the majority in that i'm expecting Killie to bring Dunfermline back down to earth. I remember Dunfermline shell shocking Killie in the cup with a few quick goals. I think Killie will be up for it. Still a little nag of doubt though

I was at tynecastle kiko about.........3 weeks ago and hearts played dundee utd at tynie......wat a lot of tripe. We hammered them 3-0 and shoulda been alot more.

My mates r hibs season ticket holders and they were at the livi game, said they done sweet fa all game untill they got 2 lucky deflections to win in last 10 mins. Then they got beat 3-0 from dunfermline in the cup and losing a 2-0 lead at HT against falkirk.

I agree the rangers result is overrated

Draw

Really like the look of killie here. They might manage to move above rangers this week if results go their way. Kris boyd been banging them in all season and losing to livingston the game before at home is a crime! They were just plane lucky last week. Killie by 2 goals

Re: SPL 3rd/4th December

on the topic of this Killie game....
I backed them last week and agree they look like good things this weekend against a team that at the best are mince but....
I am a Killie fan, I dont bet on my team that often as usually they are very inconsistent and hard to predict although this season I have made a few quid backing them as they seem to have found some sort of consistency and are knocking the goals in which makes a welcome change. Every time in the last few seasons where they have been on a decent run a game comes up that they look nailed on to win and....they dont win

For me this is a big test for us... on a great run, scoring lots of goals, expected to win, surely even the players are going in to this thinking they should win easily.
This would be the sort of game in the past we go into thinking we are gonna piss it and then mess it up, so I'll be hoping we win but not having a bet on it this weeked.
Not trying to put people off having a bet on it just have a wee look at our form last season or the one before. Love the way we play but its still a new thing.

Re: SPL 3rd/4th December

Good to see your thoughts FF and wazik.

Re Killie - I have to say I agree and if it hadn't been for the 2.25 cropping up I'd have been giving them a bit of a wide berth this weekend - maybe its something to do with the encounters with Dunfermline this season so far(unpredictable those were) or maybe like you say its because its a very unfamiliar situation for your side.

So with that all in mind it will be small stakes on that one for me.
