Re: English Prem 3rd & 4th Dec

I really think Arsenal will win this one too against Bolton, and maybe even win this well. Plus, considering the strong team that Bolton played on Wed night:

22 Jussi Jaaskelainen
2 Nicky Hunt
26 Tal Ben Haim
15 Radhi Jaidi
11 Ricardo Gardner
17 Martin Djetou
10 Jay-Jay Okocha
6 Gary Speed
16 Hidetoshi Nakata
20 Ricardo Vaz Te
14 Kevin Davies

so i hope that will take a toll on them this saturday, especially as Arsenal only played Senderos (only exp at back), Flamini, Reyes and v.Persie to ensure the goals and experience on Tues, which was a very smart move by Wenger imo, as it ensured confortable goal advantages and letting the younger players play with more confidence even after their substitutions

Though the last few encounters have been pretty tight in terms of goal differences and winning margins, i really have a good feeling considering form adn freshness, that arsenal may win by 2 goals, which they havent done since back in Apr' 02, and also the Over 2.25@2.1 i got feels pretty safe.

...i really dont know why i have this Over 2.5 feeling on this match today, i really dont.

Re: English Prem 3rd & 4th Dec

I aint a fan of bookies offering tips but bet365 sent me this. Might as well post it as its another point of view. Next we'll have fat paddy power or baldy betfred in telling us to bet things.

EARN YOUR SPURS AT 9/4
Last week’s Premiership matches provided no shocks at the top of the table, with all the big guns winning to justify odds-on quotes in their matches. After the early exploits of Wigan, the top of the table has a familiar look about it. With their ten-point lead, Chelsea are obviously long odds on-shots (1/16), with Man United (10/1) and Arsenal (14/1) filling the next two places. The outright market may be dead and buried, but you can still grab some value with our betting ‘Without the top three’ market. Here, Tottenham look the pick at 9/4. They’ve got Liverpool to beat, but the Merseysiders are still having problems scoring, while Spurs can rely on a wealth of talent up front.

bet365 ‘Without Arsenal, Chelsea & Man Utd’ prices … Liverpool 8/11, Tottenham 9/4, Bolton 12/1, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Man City 16/1, others on bet365 website

With the big guns all going in last week, it was good news to all bet365 customers who combined them in accumulator bets, especially as they were assured of getting extra value with our Premiership Accumulator Bonus (up to 60% extra each week). This weekend, we could have more of the same, with the likes of Chelsea, United and Spurs all looking nailed-on against inferior opposition at 1/4, 1/5, and 1/3 respectively. It might be tempting to include both Arsenal and Liverpool in that list, but bettors should approach these games with more caution.

LIVERPOOL V WIGAN – LIVE BETTING AVAILABLE
Sa Dec 3 – 12.45 ko (SS1)
Liverpool look to have turned around their relatively disappointing start to the season, but still look under-priced at 8/15 to beat Wigan. Home wins against Sunderland, Blackburn, West Ham and Portsmouth won’t exactly strike fear into the Latics, who’ve shown themselves more than capable of holding their own against the ‘better’ Premiership sides, and they can come away from Anfield with a point. Once the game goes live, don’t forget to check out our 14 exciting live ‘In-Play’ markets.

Liverpool v Wigan - Draw @ 5/2

BOLTON V ARSENAL
Arsenal have been in fine form at home this season, but it’s been a different story on the road. Their only win was a 3-2 thriller at Wigan, with the Latics constantly threatening to get back into the contest, and Bolton’s more physical approach will provide them with an even sterner test. In fact, Arsenal have always had problems against Bolton, winning only one of their last four matches at the Reebok, including a 1-0 defeat at the end of last season.

Bolton to beat Arsenal @ 10/3

Our weekend acca is completed by West Brom, who must be backed at 11/8 to beat a Fulham side who’ve been woeful on the road this season (just 2 points from a possible 21), which gives us a tidy return of £2161.25 (£25 stake) on our 6 selections, including a bet365 bonus of £360.21.

Suggested Premiership Acca:

Chelsea (1/4), Man United (1/5), Tottenham (1/3), Wigan to Draw (5/2), Bolton (10/3) and West Brom (11/8) – pays £2161.25 (£25 stake)

‘HOUDINI’ SHEARER 9/2 TO SEE RED THIS SEASON
Here at bet365, we like to spice up the season with a vast array of novelty bets, and the latest may strike a chord with some of our Geordie customers. After news that Newcastle skipper Alan Shearer will face no action over his clash with Everton's David Weir, we make Shearer a 9/2 shot to get sent off this season. Although he has received plenty of cards during his career, only two of them have been red, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see referees taking pity on him in his final season.

Re: English Prem 3rd & 4th Dec

I love that Looneypool price , it's barmy really , man for man they outclass the pie's by a street (obviously Crouch apart) , that's a lovely price indeed as is Charlton at home to a flagging City.
Overestimating the away team I feel in both these ties.

Arsenal too as slick points out , nearly evens to beat Bolton! we all know the Arse at 75% would be too good for the trotters and it's worth gambling on that to happen IMO

Newcastle v Aston Villa

I hesitate to inflict my opinions on others after my recent failures and this perhaps isn't the sort of game to try and make a comeback.

Two teams who put in dire performances during the week on top of mediocre form in general.

But Newcastle are without Owen, Emre and Dyer and their defence which is pretty shit at the best of times and is about to look even more dodgy with the return of Elliott at left back with another shakey character Ramage continuing at right back. With Boumsong and Bramble in central defence thats one sorry line up. Thank goodness for them that they have a decent keeper.

I am hoping that Villa will be as contrite as some of the statements coming from the players and maybe they will actually be under less pressure to perform playing away from home. Their results at St James Park aint too bad and to smallish stakes I'd rather to take a chance with Villa at 5.00 than put any faith in The Toon at odds on.

Aston Villa 3pts @ 5.00

Well they have every chance WAS, especially now O'Leary has had his cards marked by Ellis.

5's looks a decent enough price but what puts me off is that Souness is in the same boat and has to produce also.
To close to call for me and i wont be touching it but the value is definately with Villa.

I'll be taking Villa with a biased view point as I dont think Newcastle are any great shakes tbh & theyre 2 average sides, but I had no other reasons other than that & a hunch.......& a fans optimism

Re: English Prem 3rd & 4th Dec

Bit late for me but thoughts for the weekend, some may turn into bets

Newcastle were stinking at Wigan 2nd X1 on Wednesday and even considering Villa's humping at Doncaster I would still rather lay then back Newcastle.

Tottenham to take care of Sunderland like everyone does.

Blackburn look decent in last 3 at home, scoring goals which is something you can't say for Everton. Would agree with the Blackburn selection.

Liverpool tend to beat teams at home not called Man Utd, Arsenal or Chelsea. They are also doing pretty well of late, for Liverpool. Agree with what Lochsong said in that man for man they are better. Great horse btw!

Would have to disagree with Arsenal though. Bolton have kept clean sheets in last 5 homes, only conceded 1 goal at home this season and while Arsenal may be getting it back together they still only have the 1 away win, at Wigan. They are also conceding in all bar one away game this season. And have Pascal Cygan at left back.

I would rather be a layer than a backer of Arsenal at current prices (1.93-ish on Betfair). Arsenal have historically struggled here, their only win in the last 5 at Bolton being in last seasons FA Cup after EHD chucked a mental and was sent off very early. Bolton took 4 points from 6 v Arsenal in the league last season.

Arsenal after having a relatively slow start to there season are now beginning to motor, especially since the return of Henry and the confidence the newbies and youngsters are beginning to show.

At the beginning of the season they played with a bit of swagger but were soon taught a lesson and now are beginning to knuckle down and break sweat.
Bolton will give them a good game but i have a feeling they wont be expecting to win this.
Arsenal are playing well Slick but I wouldn't oppose Bolton at home against anyone especially if the opposition is odds on. Arsenal have never liked it up 'em and Bolton have been the biggest exponent of those kind of tactics over the previous few seasons.

Arsenal should be 5/4 or thereabouts before anyone has a dabble in my opinion.

Newcastle Vs Aston Villa

I was going to have a small punt on Newcastle here as I think they have the better squad - that said two thing have put me off.

a) Michael Owen is still injured.
b) The Magpies have not beaten Aston Villa in five matches, since a 0-1 triumph at Villa Park on 7 December 2002. Their last home victory over the Midlanders was 3-0 on 3 November 2001.

This match could go to any of the three results so I have to agree that Newcastle simply aren't anywhere close to being a value bet.

No bet for me.

Arsenal are a class side though Get's and when they get it together should beat anybody in the prem bar Chelsea and @ one time Utd.

Arsenal are beginning to play to how we know they can and becoming a force again, Bolton are basically a team of carpet baggers and Hats off to Aladyce as he's worked miracles with his budget aswell as bringing a couple of youngsters through like Nolan and Hunt.

Like i said Bolton will make a game of it but i cannot see them getting anything from Arsenal, who are begining to go up a gear or two.

You're right Slick in everything you say but the Gunners at odds on away to Bolton? No thank you.
