Just getting my not-so "short" list together for the weekend and a fixture in the Southern prem has escpaed my attention.
Chippenham to beat Gloucester City 6/4 Bet365
Chippenham 5th and Gloucester 18th. 11 points between the teams with Chippenham having played three less games...
A quick perusal of Gloucester's recent games doesn't impress me much. They're 3/3/3 at home with the wins coming against struggling Chesnut, northwood and Rugby. They were turned over by Cirencester, Mangoes and Kings Lynn and also drew their last home game with struggling Alyesbury.
One of their sites has this to say about the game:
"City did well to earn a point this afternoon against perennial party-poopers Aylesbury United. The surprisingly struggling Ducks dominated play pretty much throughout the game but were unable to turn their dominance into chances whilst the Tigers enjoyed bright spells which saw them bring the best out of opposing number one Jack Rashid on two or three occasions."
Chippenham town went 13 games unbeaten untill very recently when they were dumped out of the Trophy to Carshalton. They haven't won in 5 games but played Conf North side Worcester twice and narrowly went out the FA cup. They lost on Saturday at home to 3rd place Bedford town but apparently had 2 key midfeilders missing (1 of who is back tonight - plus a new striker)
"Chippenham Town have Signed striker Nathan Bailey on non contract terms. - he has recently been released from Reading. The move is expected to be short term, as FGR are interested in the player. He is expected to be in the squad for tonights game at Gloucester.Darren Perrin was "disappointed with Saturday and the bulk of the performance, plenty of opportunities that a couple of months ago would have been buried" he added ." Bedford are a good side though, and worth noting that they were third in the league. Our position is still strong, and we are still looking to boost our squad, but will not be rushed into any signing."
On tonights game a, he told us "Gloucester are looking stronger at the moment, with just one defeat in six league games, its an intimidating place to go, so we're expecting a tough game, it would be great if the supporters can turn up and get behind us. Gary Thorne is doubtful, whilst Mark Badman returns from suspension""
For me 6/4 at
Bet 365 is an attractive proposition and I'll be having 2 points on it.
