They have won away games at Dundee United, Brechin and Aberdeen since April 2004 so not good travellers at all, are they?..

Aye it was about 14 months they went without winning outside Dundee Trainbairn i believe. I couldnt touch them.

I was reading Queens Park looked a bit tired at East Stirling midweek. Maybe your boys could be worthy of a consideration for myself Edin. Im finding it hard to see much. Think i'll hit England this week.

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

just looking at prices. Betfred go 2/5 on Partick. I might have them and Clyde in a wee double. Alloa are still murder especially in defence no matter what boss Herndrie says imo. Need to look but to me that looks a pretty solid double to me.

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

A few for me

4pts Partick to beat Alloa at 1.40 with Blue Square

Partick are up there challening Morton for 2nd spot in the league but last weekends late loss opened up a 7 point gap. Partick should do their bit this weekend and must be hoping Morton drop points on the tricky away game at Peterhead.

I still think Partick are a little bit inconsistent but the 3-3 at home v Gretna (last home game) even if all the goals came in last 10 when 3-0 down show they have the capabilility to score goals. Another 3 at Forfar 2 weeks later (leading 3-0 at HT) backed that up and they have the 2nd best goals scored tally in the league behind Gretna.

And if ever there was a team you would be wanting to face if your team scored goals regularly then it has to be Alloa. Ignore the 9-0 over Selkirk, I could have beaten them. Their league form since a 1-1 at Ayr Utd on 15th October has been nothing short of abysmal.

Played 7 Won 0 Drew 0 Lost 7 For 5 Against 25

They have conceded at least 3 goals EVERY game. They have conceded a total of 11 to the 3 teams directly above them in 7th, 8th and 9th places, and two of those games were at home.

Quite simply, they cannot stop conceding goals. Partick to take full advantage of that on Saturday.

3pts Airdrie to beat Brechin at 1.50 with Skybet

Airdries form of late has been decent ever since losing to QOTS on 15th October.

At home they are W3 D1 in their last 4 homes and they include 4-0 wins over Dundee and QOTS in their last home game. They have picked up 2 points in their last 2 away games as well including a 1-1 draw at St Mirren. Narrow 1-0 defeats at Clyde and St Johnstone complete a decent 8 match set of form. Not great away but seem to be getting stronger at home.

Brechin are the Alloa of Division 1. 5pts all season, no wins from 18 games, 14 scored and 35 conceded. They have picked up 2 points from their last 24 available and they were in games v 9th placed QOTS abd 8th placed Stranraer. They are not suffering particularly heavy defeats bar a 4-1 home loss to St Johnstone but they are losing. Against a side who is playing well at home, I can only see one out come.

I will also be having

1pt on St Mirren at 2.10 with Canbet

1pt on Arbroath at 2.20 with Bet365

Simply because I think both teams should be evens or lower.

St Mirren had a shocker last weekend but at home they are good and defensively excellent with only 2 conceded in 8 homes. Note that they lead the league by 7 points despite an imbalance of away games to homes, St Johnstone, their opponents on Saturday and 2nd placed, have benefited from 2 more homes than aways.

Arbroath are the sort of side I like, have racked up 3 decent home league wins, including a 4-0 humping of Berwick and are scoring. Queens Park may have gubbed E Stirling midweek but their previous away saw them only drawing at Albion, which is a pretty poor result.

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

cheers Crowie and good luck. I had a wee look at coupons last night and might chance a few about evens which could be value with a bit of looking. Albion Rovers aint a great home side results wise but have been playing well enough in their games. most go 1/2 for them Saturday but i could talk myself into the 4/6 with Betfred.

Ayr @ 5/4 Ladbrokes seems a bit big to me as i really dont rate stirling. Need to look but i could add it to a chancey line which could even include Berwick @ 5/4 Arbroath i could take and liewise St Mirren. Hamilton too if their injuries have improved. All just for interest stakes. My main bet will be the Partick/Clyde double.

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

im a little worried that Clyde aint scoring enough at the mo but im still very interested. I cant see them not winning this one even if its just 1-0. Ayr im starting to like (won 4 from last 5 after they got players back from injury) They werent that impressive at home to raith mind and Forfar came back well. I like them ht/ft at 3/1 in ladbrokes too. Loads to look at.

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

sorry Albion ar 4/6 with Ladbrokes on their shop coupon (not betfred) online they now go 4/7. I could tak the 4/6 yet. Aye why no.

Berwick i need to check injuries etc which seems to have knocked them out of form. 5/4 though at Montrose seems worth looking at. I prefer Berwick on the road and if Cowan and co are back then i might chance them. Montrose have a new manager mind so it might be mad even to consider them.

East Fife could have a new manager in place and the 4/6 could be interesting imo.

Aye - Partick thumped Alloa 6-1 away from home - unsure about Albion though - The Shire beat them 3-1 (both these game 1/10/2005). Granted a few players have walked from the Shire but..........mmmmmmmmmm........

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

Thing about Alloa Crowie as you mentioned - they aren't getting gubbed and the DRAW really scares me. Brechin will win a game eventually - won't they ? naw sorry the 1/2 on offer with skybet is tempting but.....mmmmmm......not for me

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

aye your right it is Kegman. I thought i was hallucinating or getting liquid in my eyes. I like Airdrie usually but they'll miss Hardie and Brechin are due a win imo. Im sitting Airdrie out.

I was reading about Clyde at P&B Kegman but i think theyre all just not wanting to count their chickens. Motivation wont be a factor for them and Stranraer are due a heavy defeat imo. Tom Brighton and co could dish it out. I expect Clyde to run out comfortable enough winners even though it might look a bit closer than the match suggests.

To me Alloa's defence is enough to make me back against them

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd Division 17th December

With the price dropping on Dundee I'm gonna opt for them - I've done OK on QO this season and rate Dundee as inder achievers but cause the price is dropping merits a further look.

QOS were all over Ross County at home last time Kegman and lost. Theyre traditionally a good home side and i can see it being a draw. I wanna take QOS tw but cant. I couldnt back dundee away though.
