Re: Carling Cup - 20th & 21st December

Wigan Vs Bolton - anyone fancy the overs?

Bolton avg 3+ goals a game away from home in the Prem, Wigan just over 2 at home. Derby game, both probably resting a couple of players so there will be folks out to impress... Fancy both teams to score and then 1 to nick it & the 2.2 @ StanJames or (currently) 2.3 @ Betfair could tempt me.

any thoughts? or am i just off to the asylum on this one?

Re: Carling Cup - 20th & 21st December

From the bbc....

Middlesbrough v Blackburn
Middlesbrough midfielder James Morrison has a chance of keeping his place despite being carried from the pitch unconscious on Sunday.
The teenager suffered concussion and a black eye but no lasting damage. Chris Riggott returns from a ban but Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink remains doubtful.

Blackburn pair Craig Bellamy and Ryan Nelsen could come into contention after recovering from hamstring problems.

Winger Morten Gamst Pedersen is doubtful with knee and heel injuries.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Middlesbrough captain Gareth Southgate:
"We need this victory and if we can get into the semi-finals, there's no reason why we can't go all the way again.
"We're playing our league matches like cup ties at the moment, so we should have no worries there.

"I just hope we get a good crowd, this is a huge game for the club."

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes:
"You don't get that many opportunities to win trophies and that is what I have been emphasising.
"The Carling Cup is a realistic goal. We set out our stall out this season to go far in the competition and we're looking to progress further.

"We have showed it the respect it deserves and got success from that."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Middlesbrough (from): Schwarzer, Jones, Bates, Queudrue, Pogatetz, Southgate, Riggott, Ehiogu, Wheater, Boateng, Doriva, Morrison, Rochemback, Johnson, Kennedy, Yakubu, Hasselbaink, Viduka, Maccarone.

Blackburn (from): Friedel, Enckelman, Neill, Gray, Todd, Emerton, Thompson, Reid, Savage, Pedersen, Kuqi, Dickov, Bellamy, Nelsen, Mokoena, Khizanishvili, Tugay, Bentley

Doncaster v Arsenal
Paul Green and Dave Mulligan are expected to return to the squad after missing Doncaster's win over Swansea at the weekend.
James Coppinger is also set to play after recovering from illness.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made three changes to the squad that beat Reading in the fourth round.

Alexander Hleb, Gilberto and Alex Song are included at the expense of Jose Antonio Reyes, Mathieu Flamini and Matthew Connolly.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Doncaster boss Dave Penney:
"We'll play to our strengths. Belle Vue is a nice surface and people have been asking if we'll mess it all up, not cut it and not roll it.
"That's not our way. We want to get it down and pass it. We'll try to be positive as we have in previous rounds.

"But the unfamiliar surrounding could be an eye opener for them."

Arsenal midfielder Fabrice Muamba:
"We are probably one of the best teams in the country and we know what people want.
"We're away from home but I'm 100% convinced we can go and get a win.

"We've got a good team with a lot of quality. We know what the boss wants from us and we've got to show people what we're capable of."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arsenal (from): Almunia, Poom, Gilbert, Eboue, Djourou, Senderos, Owusu Abeyie, Muamba, Hleb, Larsson, Van Persie, Lupoli, Bendtner, Song, Cygan, Gilberto

Re: Carling Cup - 20th & 21st December

still BBurn for me , I think it will be close as Yakubu and Viduka are a class strike force , I just feel the midfield is key and if Pederson is fit then he may hold the key. A draw seems faveourite though but at 3/ 1 I think BBurn will give me a good run for my money
