Re: CC League One: 9th April

Carlisle in great form against Bournemouth, a team almost certain to not go down. Carlisle need points to gain a playoff-spot. They have won their last three games 2-0,2-0 and 5-0. Impressing and I think that they will continue to impress against Bournemouth. Centrebet offers me 1.80 on Carlisle and Im satisfied.

One other very interesting match, is Cheltenham vs Chesterfield. Two teams in trouble but Cheltenham are in good form, winning three of their last four games. The defeat was against the top team Nottingham Forest. Chesterfield have won only one of their last nine games and could be heading for league two next season. They beat Crewe on saturday, but I think that they will loose this important game monday.

Re: CC League One: 9th April

...........watched in despair as his side needlessly gifted Carlisle the lead and then failed to capitalise after dominating possession..........Bournemouth played inside Carlisle's half for much of the first period and went close x2...Bond's side continued to dominate the second period....

...........On the hour mark, Forest were made to pay for their glut of missed chances as Rotherham broke the deadlock against the run of play....

.....Cheltenham pressed hard for an equaliser, but could not find a way through Chesterfield's solid defence...

Re: CC League One: 9th April

forest are perceived to be a banker today. In last chance saloon for potential automatic promotion (even though they are reliant on other results going their way), they must win. A big crowd expected today, over 25,000, and no new injury problems.

They are painful to watch and are unlikely to win like 2/5 shots and although I go with them, there are a number of reasons to be wary:

- Tyson has been on the bench in the last 5 games, not sure why but his form has dipped after the FA cup win over charlton and his praise on match of the day. I suspect he is out of favour but may return today after the Millwall debacle although he does play for himself rather than the team
- Forest played well with Chambers and Breckin in central defence but this was broken up to accomodate the returning Wes Morgan on Saturday - he is obviously a favourite but chambers looks a better bet in central defence
- Rotherham need the points
- Lewis McGugan has looked good since he came in but faces a late fitness test, he offers something going forward so it will be a blow if he doesn't make it

I go with Forest 8/10

Re: CC League One: 9th April

I think that the Swansea would today had win.

Swansea City boss Roberto Martinez will be forced to assess the fitness of a number of key players before naming his side tomorrow as Port Vale visit the Liberty Stadium.

He will assess the fitness of Izzy Iriekpen, Leon Britton, Kris O'Leary, Tom Butler and Andy Robinson while Tate completes his 2-match suspension.

Martinez said: 'There were a lot of positives to come out of the Bristol game,''

'We obviously want to win games at this stage of the season, so we can't be totally happy with the performance and a point.

'But we created 15 chances from a variety of departments and another performance like that should give us the three points next time.

'We've got a fantastic opportunity to get them straight away against Port Vale because it's a totally different scenario to Ashton Gate. But coming just 48 hours after that game it's going to be very demanding.''

His assistant Graeme Jones praised the squad in his interview with the match programme and said: 'I'm going to make a big statement here, but I can honestly say I've never worked with such an enthusiastic and energetic bunch of players in my life.

'It's a challenge for me to maintain that level of energy and enthusiasm every day on the training field, but it's a challenge I'm relishing.

'Motivation has never been a problem for the players and sometimes you've actually got to hold them back.''

I only picked Cheltenham from this division. They should beat poor Chesterfield at home. Centrebet's 1.95 is ok for me.

cheltenham are the ones that I like the look off. 2.28 at betfair is good odds. Forest should win but backing at shorter than 1/2 I never like to do (or backing my own team)

Re: CC League One: 9th April

i actually think rotherham are good value with the draw on their side at forest. Rotherham are showing fighting spirit under mark robins and the pressure on forest is huge, no-one should be 7/1 in this division at this stage and I'll take some of that.
Also a little bit of orient at yeovil not to lose, orient have a good record against sides in the top half while yeovil are stuttering badly, and ruining my 28/1 each way bet on them.

The best of the short prices are carlisle and swansea, but with two games in three days for most teams short prices don't appeal much today.

Re: CC League One: 9th April

Me too Johnny, unfortunately. Gills have played 7 games against teams in the top 4 (Forest, Scunthorpe and Oldham home and away, Bristol C away), and we've lost all 7. Probably need 3pts more for safety, and while I'd love it to be today and to be able to relax, I can't see it happening. So I'm also on Bristol C, although it's one of those bets against your own team where you're happy even if the bet loses as it means your team gets a result :wasntme
