Re: Scottish Premier League - Boxing Day

I will take slagging from some for this but 8/1 Falkirk is way out of line.I was expecting 9/2 or 5/1 at best and yet 8/1 is available in two seperate places(hope one of the High Street firms go that or better))..

ICT have done not bad of late but would still expect the kids from Easter Road to give them a stern test. Decent price but hopefully High St go better !!

Re: Scottish Premier League - Boxing Day

Bet365's 3.20 will be the best available on ICT and its a good price IMO. I would certainly lay Hibs at prices quotes. ICT 7 unbeaten now and Celtic, Rangers and Hearts in amongst that lot. Already won 2-1 at Hibs earlier in the season.

Killie are trotting along, getting the odd result here and there but rattlign in the goals. Joint top home scorers with Celtic. Dundee Utd ain't scoring and although they have 11 away, 5 came in the one game at Motherwell. 1.80 looks acceptable.

Bet365 are shortest on Hearts, ridiculous 1.30. Hills go 1.44 and thats still a bit short. Would agree with Steven that Falkirk price is too high, especially considering they have won at Easter Road and drew at Ibrox in last 2 aways and are unbeaten in 5 (?) away. Lay of Hearts at 1.30 would be lovely, Falkirk +1.25 or +1.5 would also be worthwhile.

Re: Scottish Premier League - Boxing Day

crowie, i'm thinking different to you I like the look of hibs at 5/4 against a Inverness side that has only won 1 out of 9 league games at home this season. They did have a fine result against Celtic but they have lost to Falkirk, Hearts, Motherwell and Rangers at home. Now i think its possible that Hibs will over take Hearts especially the way they play and i don't rate Rix and if it was Hearts playing in Inverness i would expect the price to be 4/5.

The only other price i like is Motherwell at 13/10 against Aberdeen. I priced it around 11/10 for them but once again i wonder if Aberdeen will have a reaction which puts doubts on my mind especially in the league Aberdeen have a good record there.

Falkirk does have a bit of value to it i must admit.

Re: Scottish Premier League - Boxing Day

Interesting price comparison from milners if it was Hearts playing at ICT. Not sure they would be as short though after going 6 away games without a win. No doubt Hearts are on the slide with the wrong manager in charge. Romanov has all of a sudden gone rather quiet.

Hearts are far too short against Falkirk and judging by reports on last week's defeat at Ibrox, they looked a dispirited bunch. They are a shadow of the side who started the season so brightly and a lay below 1.50 is fair bet IMO.

ICT played very well against Celtic following on from a 0-0 draw at Tynecastle. The highlanders have become SPL journeymen now and won't be fazed by facing Hibs and I agree with crowie that a lay of Hibs or an AH bet on Caley is the call here.

I also fancy Killie to beat Dundee Utd. Killie do score a few though they also concede. Morale is good which can't be said for their opponents and with only 1 goal scored in their last 4 on the road, it has to be a home win.

Wouldn't go near Motherwell v Aberdeen. The Dons have a good H to H at Fir Park but were well outplayed in the recent CIS cup tie on the same ground and they got off very lightly at 1-0.

Maybe your right with my bookie price comparision with hearts.

Hibs have a away record of 6-0-3 and is the 2nd best in the league only getting beat by Celtic, Hearts and Dundee Utd. The Dundee Utd game my mates was at and they said Hibs should have won that game mmm Hibs lost the last 2 away - still fancy it though.

Back to Aberdeen, i've never seen my team play as bad in the last two games in my life. Funny enough was speaking to a few dandys in Forfar after the livingston game and we all agreed we will not back Aberdeen unless performances improve which i doubt.

Heard a few not so good stories at Aberdeen from a reliable source which does get the scoops of what's going on at AFC as i'm a moderator at dons site and i know for a fact AFC wanted to know where this guy gets his rumours as most rumours about players coming seems to happen or whats going on behind the sceens - here is one from last saturday.

After Saturdays game, the players had 6 taxis booked for 5.30 to pick them up from Livi to take them to Edinburgh to catch a flight to Dublin for their Xmas night out. At full time they were sat around getting ready to shower while JC was ranting at the horrible performance on the pitch. Anderson stands up and says " sorry boss this will have to wait, we need to get showered and get our taxis to catch the flight". Incredably JC agreed to this and the players proceeded to go.

This shows a) an incredible lack of respect for the manager and arrogance by the players, and b) a lack of guts by the manager. Fergie would have bloody cancelled the night out there and then!

The management team had their Christmas party at Edinburgh.

Re: Scottish Premier League - Boxing Day

Two bets for me this weekend in the SPL-Falkirk who are too big at 8/1 with Skybet and Bet365(Although I wil have to take Coral's 7/1 being the best price any of the big three are going) and 9/4 also with Corals about a Motherwell-Aberdeen Draw..

Rumours persits Milners about Noel Hunt for Pittodrie with possibly Stevie Crawford going the other way-Heard anything at your end?..

Re: Scottish Premier League - Boxing Day

Heard the rumours about Hunt although if it happens i think the fans will turn on Calderwood big time most are starting to turn against him now - these rumours are coming from Dunfermline end though. I have heard that Darren Young is coming back though which i believe the deal is a done deal well that according to my mates from my supporters club - they are very friendly with a former dons player recently who's agent is the same as Barry Ferguson and they knew before the belarus game he was going to get booked so he missed the next game as Rangers had a few big games after that.

Re: Scottish Premier League - Boxing Day

Aye Aberdeen fans have been crucifying Calderwood in the local paper slating everything about him - his signings, his tactics etc and the pressure is ever increasing so solely on this i am going to avoid the Motherwell game as Aberdeen are going to have to put in a performance at some stage very shortly aren't they and i hate going against a side who is getting ripped to shreds to badly publicly by their fans.

Milners - is it this week or the following week Severin's expected back?

Hearts v Falkirk

As for Celtic, Rangers and Hearts. The 3 of them are far too short for me and if i was to consider going against anyone then it would definately be against Hearts.

Already been said they were completely out of sorts last week at Ibrox. Rangers dominated them like you'd expect them to dominate a side like Livi. Hearts were camped inside their own half and created very little, if anything and they are definately a side looking like they are beginning to crack.

They haven't had a convincing game for me since the 3-0 home defeat of Dundee United and since that game when Rix has come in he doesn't seem to be getting the same from his players as Burley has been.

Falkirk while they have been very touch and go at home they have been pretty sucessful on the road in the SPL this season and bar a couple of games at Pittodrie and Fir Park have exceeded their expectations they would've had.

Rangers 2-2 Falkirk
Hibernian 2-3 Falkirk
Inverness 0-3 Falkirk
Dunfermline 0-1 Falkirk
Kilmarnock 1-1 Falkirk
Motherwell 5-0 Falkirk
Aberdeen 3-0 Falkirk
Celtic 3-1 Falkirk
Livingstone 0-2 Falkirk

They have shown against the bigger sides too away from home they can raise their game and put in very good performances coming away with points at Rangers and Hibs already.

Add to that their CIS cup game at Celtic park where they took the lead and contained Celtic so well until the end of that game so i definately think their is some value to be had backing Falkirk.

Fakirk double chance @ 2.87 Sporting Odds

Thats the best looking now although i will be very interested to see the Asian handicap betting odds etc when they are available as i think the most value will be had from that.

Both the Caley game and the Killie game are a bit too difficult to call for myself at the minute so maybe Falkirk will be my only bet here.

Re: Scottish Premier League - Boxing Day

According to Calderwood in Red TV - Lovell is back training and might play on monday and he reckons Severin will be back on monday and then there might be a chance next saturday.

Hated what Calderwood said in the Evening Express tonight - is he asking for fans to get on his back or what!!! The people that complained about Tactics crap performances etc in the Evening Express and he said they aint real fans!!! Jesus the real fans was about 90% at Livingston and a few shouted for his head although i must say only about 3 or 4 people but that comment in the EE does him no favours it really doesn't. 13/10 for motherwell against what Calderwood said a team that isn't confident!!!.

Re: Scottish Premier League - Boxing Day

off the top of the head for me. Rangers usually get their customary 3pts at Dunfermline, Falkirk to get a bit of luck, Killie usually do ok v Dundee utd (over 2.5 too), Hibs i like home and away and ICT aint too great at home and i fancy Milners/Mr C's aberdeen to bounce back with a win.

Milners-Reported on BBc website that Severin has turned down a concert offer and will be a free agent next June.Never rated him that highly when at Hearts but I know you reckon he has been the missing link for the dandies this season.

Fantastic player to be honest easily our best player last season and it was noticable when he was injured for 2 months last season Aberdeen didn't win a game and he come back and we started winning again. Even Hearts fans was gutted when he left them they said he was a fantastic player. This season he's been poor but he's been injuried for most. Rumour he's going to the huns and that would be good move for them imho. Never mind we'll replace Severin with Darren Young

Re: Scottish Premier League - Boxing Day

Aye thats a huge blow if Severin is going to move on in the summer.

I always felt he was useful at Hearts but lacked consistency but he has had a high level of standard at Aberdeen whenever i have seen him and he has stood out a mile ahead of the other players.

Like Milners mentioned he hasn't had the same form this season for whatever reasons but he is still one of these figures that just having him on the pitch helps the other players out.

Aberdeen are really going to miss him when he goes and maybe this is the Dons away to go on a backward trend again when everything was meant to be up from last season on in.
