Re: Welsh Premier League Jan 7th

I think that bet365 got the prices right for most of these games.

A very brief initial impression

Connah's Quay [15th]v Haverfordwest [7th]@2.20
Haverfordwest have had some good results against the better clubs but have tripped up against the lower clubs ,I cannot see that happening here
Cwmbran [14th]v Rhyl [2nd]@1.66
Rhyl are a much better side than Cwmbran , Rhyl have been more consistant lately.
T.N.S. [1st]v Porthmadog [13th]1.12 6.50 12.00
I saw the draw first game of the season, it was TNS first competitive game since losing to Liverpool in the Champion League qualifier,it gave me hope for Port, saw Port lose to Aber on 2nd Jan , we were poor.I cannot see Port scoring and don't think TNS will get more than 7 goals in this mis-match.
Welshpool Town v Port Talbot @ 3.20
Two concecutive defeats by Llanelli have moved Port Talbot from 2nd spot , I have thought that Welshpool have overachieved all season , but they proved their worth on Monday with a draw at TNS [ the first team to take points from TNS homeground ]- I am having 2nd thought about this one as I type this.

Any questions or comments will be welcomed

Re: Welsh Premier League Jan 7th

LLaneli got a new chairman with some cash to spend pre season choban and he bought in some spaniards and some quality players for this league. We had a couple of nice touches on them but some players have left and their form has dipped from what ive picked up but them h2h's are misleading to the closeness of this one this season. Im sure Traeth could tell you more before he goes off pot smoking

Re: Welsh Premier League Jan 7th

Not much that interest me this weekend , as previously stated looks like bet365 have got the odds correct

Bangor City v Llanelli too difficult to predict
Aberystwyth v Newi Cefn Druids 1.53 home win
Caersws v Caernarfon see below
Carmarthen v Newtown looks like a draw but could go either way
Connah's Quay v Haverfordwestaway win @ 2.20
Cwmbran v Rhyl price now 1.57 for an away win ,Cwmbran could not beat Quins!
Grange Quins v Airbus UK two poor sides and cannot decide
T.N.S. v Porthmadog home win at very low odds so give it a miss
Welshpool Town v Port Talbot NO BET

Caersws v Caernarfon 1.66 3.40 4.33
I still have a soft spot for Caernarfon even though they have cost me a few pounds this season.I believe that they are in a false position and was expecting a change of fortune .The local derbies against Bangor over the Christmas period resulted in only one point with Bangor scoring late goals in both matches. Caersws had two wins against Newtown over the Christmas period .The current form table shows Caersws 3rd with Caernarfon last .Those stats should put me off , but I'm swayed by that performance by Caernarfon v Caersws at the start of this season.
Here are the recent H2H
2005-08-27 Caernarfon 6-0 Caersws
2005-04-16 Caersws 3-1 Caernarfon
2004-09-25 Caernarfon 0-1 Caersws
2004-01-24 Caernarfon 2-4 Caersws
2003-09-13 Caersws 2-2 Caernarfon

Everything indicates towards a home win ,but I'm tempted by an away win for Caernarfon. My recommendation for this match.
All sensible people should go for the home win.
I will be on Caernarfon "gut feeling"- Based on recent performances.

These are the results of Caernarfon games
2006-01-02 Caernarfon - Bangor City 1-1
2005-12-26 Bangor City - Caernarfon 1-0
2005-12-17 Caernarfon - Port Talbot 0-1
2005-12-10 TNS - Caernarfon 2-1
2005-11-18 Caernarfon - Porthmadog 1-2 , they beat Port in the Cup following weekweek
2005-11-12 Caernarfon - Newtown 0-0
2005-10-29 Haverfordwest - Caernarfon 2-2

These are Caersws recent results
2006-01-02 Newtown - Caersws 0-2
2005-12-26 Caersws - Newtown 2-1
2005-12-17 Haverfordwest - Caersws 0-0
2005-12-10 Caersws - Rhyl 1-1
2005-12-03 Cardiff GQ - Caersws 0-5
2005-11-18 Aberystwyth - Caersws 0-0

Good luck all

Re: Welsh Premier League Jan 7th

traeth, congratulations on forecasting (not more than) 7 goals for TNS, pointing the way to a strong HT bet. No sign of complacency yet despite their 12 point lead; do you think this will be a problem as the season wears on or do they just enjoy banging in the goals? Perhaps you could keep an eye on this in the weeks ahead.
Regards.

My comment

"I cannot see Port scoring and don't think TNS will get more than 7 goals in this mis-match."
was meant as sarcasm against my team - I could not believe the score when I saw it.

Thanks for helping out Komp

My money was on Caernarfon coming good , sorry I did not have enough faith in my gut feeling to make it a big recommendation.

Had a great time in Amsterdam :loon
