Re: FA Cup 5th Round 18th & 19th Feb

DJ Campbell seems to be a good player John but I think Brentford are a bit better than the one trick pony you seem to be suggesting. I had a look at this game too and 1.58 does look tempting for a Premiership side to beat a League One outfit - especially when they have home advantage and the possibility of getting into the QF of the FA Cup - their only realistic chance of getting anything out of this season.

Curbs will also be desperate to put himself in the best possible light considering the FA's deliberations over who the next England manager will be.

That said, Brentford are a physical side and I would expect they are going to get up and at Charlton and make it a very tough game. You would expect quality to tell but the longer it remains 0-0 the more the crowd will get restless. I think Brentford have a decent chance of snatching a draw and taking this to a replay. Marcus Bent is also cup tied and I think Charlton need him to be at their very best so this might just level out the DJ factor?

1.58 just isn't enough value for me.

Good luck all the same John. I hope you win.

Colchester +2.5 on the asain is tempting me as well....what with chelskis potato patch, Mourinhos philsphopy of only winning 1-0 2-0, add in the pending Barca game....Could we see Mr Mourinho fielding a never seen before starting 11 of total reserves, there is no way i can see him playing his stars here

That might not be a bad call John. What odds on the asian for Colchester +2.5?

Any one of the three results is a distinct possibility, as is the over and under market. There is simply no value in games like this.

Pull up your chairs, crack open a beer and watch a bloody good game of footy on the BBC, but don't put down any money on games like this if you are serious about turning a consistent profit.

Good luck.

PS - Lee, I assume 40 pts in your post doesn't equate to 40% of your total betting stake?
Normally I'd agree with you, but 2.88 on betfair last night was just too big for a Liverpool win. Quality home side against a pretty average away one, and there's no doubt that it's United's reputation that's given us that price on Liverpool, not the facts.

Without this sounding like a mutual appreciation society Dave I have to say that despite my previous post 2.88 on betfair is bordering on the kind of value I would need in order to have a bet here because whilst all three results are a possibility I would lean towards a home win for the reasons you give.

I still wouldn't bet though.

Ferdinand out for UTd , Hamaan Sisoko in for pool. Richardson for Park.Brown replaces Ferdi.

Not at all, even when he's not scoring he can create chaos in any defence.
