Re: CC League Two 10th-11th March

whey hey im first in. It's like going to a nightclub at 10pm.

Looking down Darlington could be one for me to look at if i can get a slightly better price. Barnet away Frodo? Havent they given Grimsby a few good games this season? (i can open more than one IE screen)

Cheltenham for a draw at Orient? Lincoln are always worth a draw too. Surely they have too much for Rushden. Are Rushden still looking ok away from home? Wrexham at home i always consider and thats about me on forst inspection.

What you thinking about? Looks like a bad coupon in all the divisions this week i think.

Well here are my bets -

Small on
- Torquay - I can't believe they are at the bottom, this game is vital for them.
- Wrexham - Playing a poor team who just lost a fiercely fought derby in midweek, I think Wrexham will benefit
-N'ton V carlisle - Draw - I think two good teams may just nullify each other

No big bets

Re: CC League Two 10th-11th March

Northampton look like a decent bet at home to Carlisle! We were put through our paces for 120 minutes this Tuesday in the LDV, with a virtually full-strength squad, bar the cup-tied Michael Bridges. Peter Murphy will probably miss out after picking up a knock, Livesey and Glenn Murray also picked up knocks but should be fit. The rest of the squad have been desccribed as happy but very tired.

Northampton have been pretty solid at home recently, having only lost once (Peterborough) and drawn twice (Wycombe and Leyton Orient) in their last eight home games. Carlisle's away form has been patchy of late and though we are able to beat some of the better teams in the league, i just feel we'll struggle after our midweek exertions.

Re: CC League Two 10th-11th March

im a bit worried about Peterborough's away form jbg. i havent checked for a while and im again limited to one IE screen but from what i remember their always worth a look away. Torquay's form picked up lately with players coming back from injury didnt it?

Good info Rockin cheers. I'll have a wee look at Northampton myself when i can but ive never managed to catch them this year so im wary.

Fair does Komp, Posh aren't bad away from home, but it is a long trip. I just have a feeling that Torquay will save themselves and there isn't a better game to win than this one.

Form- Torquay not won in 5 - scored 1 in 5
- Posh 3 wins in last 5 - scored in all last 5 games and only concede 0.97 goals a game on average compared to 1.67 goals conceded for Torquay a game

So Komp is right with the form etc, but I see this as a good chance for Torquay

Re: CC League Two 10th-11th March

NORTHAMPTON's 4 injured players came through a reserve game this week and return to a full strength squad for Friday's game with Carlisle. Carlisle were involved in a cup tie at Macclesfield on a very heavy pitch, this Tuesday Night which went to extra time. There will be some very tired legs during the second half with less than 3 days to recover. Northampton will go top if they win Friday, looks a very good bet at odds against.

Re: CC League Two 10th-11th March

Thought I'd pop-in as you mentioned Barnet Komp. To be honest I wouldn't take Grimsby against Barnet at those odds. I think they'll win but we're proving a tough side to beat away from home at the moment, we went to Orient and outplayed them for large parts of the game infact I think the official stats show Orient with 0 on shots on target in that game. The way the team is set up at the moment away from home is pretty much spot on and past results away from home against the other 4 sides in the top 5 have seen us pick up 7 points, only losing to Wycombe.

We will miss captain Ian Hendon so Barry Fuller will probably be moved from his defensive midfield role to cover which will be a bit of a blow. Hopefully we will have Simon King back from injury though to sure up the defence a bit. Grimsby are going to have to play a fair bit better than they did at Barnet to win this one IMO but they really should be beating teams like us if they want to go up.

If you like ridiculous omens, we're unbeaten in games I've missed this season and I'm not going saturday. :loon

Just at first glance but the value appears to be in Bristol Rovers as they're pushing for the playoffs and are upagainst a Notts County team who don't seem to have much left to play for and their performances in the last few games have been nothing short of crap.

Good stuff lads.

At odds against this type of analysis merits some serious consideration.

Re: CC League Two 10th-11th March

Here is a medium small stake bet on Northampton from me

Northampton – Carlisle

A cracking game tonight in league 2 and a direct clash for the first place in the division. Northampton with 2 points less than Carlisle are hoping to take over the top of the table and honestly I think they are more than capable of this and also it’s the right moment for it.

Its becoming even more interesting, when we look at the other contenders for the 1st place – Grimsby and Wycombe, both having pretty winnable games against Barnet and Shrewsbury resectively. So both hosts and visitors will go out for the 3 points and nothing less tonight.

Northampton played last time almost 2 weeks ago defeating Wrexham away from home and that deserved rest since then helped them pretty much as their doubtful players have shaken off their injuries and tonight they have the privilidge of choosing from a fully fit squad in a game that has to be concidered as one of the most important in the season.

Carlsisle is in a superb league form lately and fully deserves to sit on the top of the table. They have scoring plenty of goals and also keeping it tight at the back. This brought 3 consecutive wins in the league and IMO a good starting point before tonights game.

One of the key factors here will be the hard game Carlisle had just 2 days ago in LDV Vans trophy, where they had to play 120 minutes on a very bad pitch and some of the players picked some knocks and not fully fit now.

Here are vthe team news from BBC:

Northampton v Carlisle

Northampton midfielder Ian Taylor returns after suspension, Jason Lee and Andy Kirk are available after shaking off ankle injuries.

Martin Smith (calf), Josh Low (knee) and David Rowson (hernia) have all recovered from injury.

Carlisle's Kevin Gray returns after a leg infection and Michael Bridges is back after being cup-tied in midweek.

Peter Murphy is out with a back problem but Danny Livesey is fit despite having four stitches in a head wound.

Not so long ago when Carlisle were trashed by Macclesfield 3-0 away from home and also were held at home by Shrewsbury in a 2-2 draw, so a win is never granted, when they play important game.

Note also that last time Carlisle managed to win against Northampton was in 1997, 7 games ago. This year Northampton offered again a bit too much and won 1-0 in the first game away at carlisle.

So all in all I expect Northampton to take advantage of Carlisle tiredness and taking in mind the previous record between them a home Win here is very probable and odds between 2.15 and 2.25 / at Expect / are reasonable for a 4/10 bet.

Re: CC League Two 10th-11th March

Cobblers
I'm actually looking at laying Northampton tonight, at 6/5. Their record at home against the better sides is poor. Of the other 9 sides in the top 11 Northampton have beaten just one (Bristol Rovers, 9th), drawn against 6 (4 0-0s) and lost the other 2. Only in the Rovers game have they scored more than once.

On the other hand, Carlisle know how to go away to these teams and get results - of the 9 sides, they've played 7, winning 3 and drawing 4 (interestingly 2 0-0s in there). They've only conceded more than 1 in 1 of these 7.

The under 2.5 goals bet is also looking very solid here.

Lay Northampton 7pts risk @ 2.20
Under 2.5 goals 7pts @ 1.83

Re: CC League Two 10th-11th March

I was listening to talksport on the radio today and Charlie McCann tipped his football bet of the weekend as being Northampton at 5/4.. No idea what his footy record is like, but I know he's quite hot on his horses..
