Re: Non-League 11th/12th

AMPs got a massive bet on Crawley to go down and your cheering em on Komp whats that about?

These 4 are the definite backers for me this weekend, im looking into others too but these 4 are definites for me...

Camb City v Havant @ 11/10
Hayes v Histon @ 5/4
Weston v Farnborough @ 11/10

Cirencester v Bedford @ 6/5

I have to say WTF to Histons price Hayes, 1-1-14 is their form (not just recent form is it a whole 16 games so theyve been shite for a long time now) and in that theyve lost their last 8 home games on the bounce. Histon are a handy enough side, better than average, still sniffing around the playoffs. Theyve beaten good sides such as Lewes, Eastleigh and Farnborough on their travels as well as disposing of drossier outfits like Weston, Maidenhead and Newport. God only knows how they are against odds here at 5/4.

Im working out all my prices for these 4 as for sure they could be worth extra attention more than just your standard bet perhaps.

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

Hereford Utd v Accrington

I'm going to take a chance on Accrington here @ 13/8, they are trying to equal a Conference record of 11 straight victories....set by Hereford 2 seasons ago and i can see them doing it. Obviously Hereford will be all out to stop them but i think the Stanley will have to much.

Hereford lose another player in Daryl Taylor for the fixture, anybody who watched the live Sky game against Stevanage will know he was a pacey winger who had to have two defenders to try and stop him, he was always a threat and him being suspended takes away a big attacking option.
With the other injuries it does leave a very youthful Hereford team and the best i believe they could hope for would be a draw. I really cant see Hereford winning this one.

Confidence 7/10

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

Going against the form guide I’m going to take Exeter at Halifax @ 11/4.

There’s good enough reason to go against the form guide when you take a closer look.

Halifax have been superb all season, they have got themselves to 3rd in the table with some good but narrow victories of late. They remain unbeaten at home with 10 wins and 5 draws but they haven’ won a game by more than one goal since the 12th of November and I doubt they’ll remain unbeaten at home all season, not many Conference teams do.

Until their last game Exeter had lost 4 on the trot and had slipped out of the play offs but a small bad run happens to most of those around the play off positions at some point during the season.

Here’s what manager Alex Inglewhatshisname had to say about those defeats

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...nf/4744830.stm

Next game out his players go and put 5 past Southport.

If any team can beat Halifax on their own patch it surely would be Exeter, pre Christmas they impressed when beating Hereford at Edgar Street 0-2 and are the only team to win at Accrington Stanley this season too. They face some on paper easy games after this one and I’m expecting them to finish in the play offs come May.

I’ll cover this with the draw @ 12/5 and I have a confidence rating for them not to lose at 8/10

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

I dont very often go against the form book Mrmuzeman, i'm not backing big either but Exeter shouldn't be more than 2/1 imo, i'm taking the draw also as both would be happy with a point.

Good luck all non leaguers

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

Aye I think the draw looks a decent shout. Good luck, im a bit of a Halifax fan so im biased

Anyone help me out with any Grays or Woking teamnews, injuries or anything? I have to say odds on for Grays looks bloody short against a hard to beat team like Woking. Its a well known fact (well, ive been saying as much in here all season ) that Grays are a better away side than home. Id be interested in laying Grays on betfair you see.

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

Was considering them (Grays) earlier in the week at 4/5. Woking's play-off chances are over and I listened in on some of the woking match v Cambridge United. Woking were listless up-front and their top scorer was injured for that game.

Steve Flack banged a hat-trick for Exteter last weekend but strike partner (and from memory top scorer) Lee Phillips got injured and is out for the season.

Stuff you probably know but worth bearing in mind.

Scarboro at near 2/1 on Betfair not float anybodies boat?

Oh, gonna take Cambridge City again Muze, cheers for that as the 11/10 hits my radar. I want that price as I'm a tad concerned about Havant's new loan signing but I think City will outscore them if they both just go for it.

Going to top up on Lewes if they're still 6/4 (which I'd be susrprised at) and follow Kop's excellent post have a cheeky couple on Stanley - gotta at that price.

Good Luck All.

Apart from Crawley

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

Probably the last one for me but I'd have to agree with Muze's shout regarding Histon @ 5/4. The price seems too heavy against woefully out of sorts Hayes.

I'm just going to have my standard 3 pointer with sporting odds though as Histon have shown that they are capable of good results (Beating Eastleigh / Farnboro away, drawing with Welling) and then a few dodgy ones also (Yeading a 0-1 Carlshalton H 0-1)

Also Hayes have appointed a new manager. This may not be enough to want me to swerve it but I'm going to err on the side of caution. Old wives tale? Sure there was some stats knocking about..

Spraking of stats Andy Baird is vital to Banbury's cause. He's scored 10 times in the 14 games they've won. He went Awol last weekend (tonsilitis was rumored -how long would that keep someone out for? Any ideas?) and still no news whether he will feature against my tip Bath City. I'll keep you posted.

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

Crawley

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned elsewhere but here is a curious short article from The Argus. Now I know that there is talk of the better players scurrying around to get fixed up at other clubs and missing training but I was under the impression that Crawley still had a large squad!;

Crawley set to sign trio
by Tom Gurney

CRISIS club Crawley are today set to sign three players on loan from a Championship side.

Manager John Hollins is trying to bring in reinforcements ahead of tomorrow's relegation clash with Scarborough in case he is left without enough players.

Every contracted player had a one-to-one meeting with chairman Chas Majeed yesterday to talk about their futures.

Stop tryng to scare me WAS.

Take it with a pinch of salt as they said Clare was staying and he'd already given his 14 day notice.

See the relegation thread for more news...

Wasn't trying to scare you.

I took it as good news especially as their seems to be a risk that they may not have enough players to turn out tomorrow. Can't imagine that they could get anything other than kids at this stage from a Championship Club and they've still got to pay their wages
.
I've got a lumpy bet on Scarborough at 2.80

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

Finished off me bets just now, got a couple more on top of the 'big 4' I already highlighted.

Leigh v Moor Green

Been mulling over this one and the stats for a while and I decided to take it as a draw no bet (DNB). You can construct your own at 4/5. The 6/4 on the straight win was tempting but I dont have full confidence in the win as Moor Green have drawn nearly half their games this season and Leigh have been doing their best to keep it as tight as they can for a while now.

The DNB here looks pretty safe to me (no bet i safe but you know what i mean!). Moor Green rarely lose and when they do its usually to a good side with attacking flair. Leigh Rmi rarely win (a habit theyve come accustomed to in the last 2 seasons!). A couple of statty facts to illustrate the bet...

Leigh Rmi - 1 win in their last 12 games - Never scored more than 1 in those 12 games - 1 goal in last 7 games.

Moor Green - 1 loss in 12 away games - Scored 2 or more in 8 of those 12 aways

You get the idea. Its one of those games where its impossible to make a case for Leigh winning at their 6/4 quote, if it goes anywhere remotely near to form. 4/5 is suitably chunky for a bet here, no doubt for me. Dont see why bookies are pricing it as an even encounter 6/4 a piece, Moor Greens 6-7-3 away record isnt one to be sniffed at.

Halesowen v Cheshunt

Just a small bet here on Cheshunt and its not a bet for the faint hearted but I think the 3/1 is too big here (several other bookies agree). Before their loss at the weekend Cheshunt ammassed a 7 game winning run scoring plenty of goals.

Halesowen going through a bit of a rocky patch, lost 3 of their last 6, 2 of their last 4 home games etc. Not looking too sharp infront of goal neither. I dont see why this wont be a pretty closely contested game, 3/1 is a big too big in my book.

Im also taking Leek for a few points at 6/4 to carry on their good form. As noted Whitby lose regularly on the road and the form is on Leeks side. Just a normal bet though as Leeks wins have come away from home in the main.

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

Chesnut:

Backed them to loose at Mangoes last week as star Striker Opera (or something) was having a trial at Peterboro but he's now gone to Chelsea...his strike partner was also suspended for one game last week. This week they only have a midfeilder suspended.

Still, given that Halesowen have lost a few players recently that 3/1 could well be too big.

I've just backed Scarboro at 2.8 (locked out of Hills for some reason). The "chairman" admitted last night at a committe meeting that Clare has left due to "family problems". Right - O . There's talk (very unsubstantiated I must add) of youth players signing Conference forms...

3 pts for me.

Good luck all,
