Re: Non-League 11th/12th

WAS - you're right. 3 young kids from Millwall....

"The players are Jack McLeod, 17, Michael Bostwick, 17, and Dean Pooley, 19, all on work experience.

Have all signed Conference forms and are eligible to play tomorrow"

Thrust straight into a conference relegation dogfight. lovely. Would up my stake but that outight is a factor...

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

great info on this thread as always, gonna think over what to bet on tomorrow over a few cans of stella, telford manager rob smith thinks they have got a good chance at lincoln, signed 7 new players since becoming manager 3 weeks ago although gary hay suspended for tomorrow.steve pope will go straight into the side, signed from halesowen, centre half and was their captain and player of the year last season.only concern, telford have only won 1 away game this season although there is a new mentality there now and lincoln are paticularly poor at home. might have a small dabble on cheshunt as mentioned as halesowen have also lost their top scorer nathan lamey to hednesford,20 goals all comps. 3-1 looks value

Nice info Bromsgrove

Sounds like both Halesowen and Cheshunt will have a few personnel changes there then.

Good luck to all non leaguers this weekend

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

Some C+P from the BBC

Quote:
Hereford striker Andy Williams has given the Bulls a major boost on the eve of their biggest game of the season by signing a new deal at Edgar Street.
Williams, 19, has agreed a 12-month extension to his current contract, which was due to expire this summer.
He is the Bulls' leading scorer this season with season with 11 goals.
Williams will be looking to score for the fourth game running in Saturday¿s top-of-the-table clash with leaders Accrington Stanley.

Hereford boss Graham Turner says the Conference title race will be over if his side do not beat runaway leaders Accrington Stanley at the weekend.
The Bulls are second in the table, 16 points behind John Coleman's men, but do have a game in hand.
"We have to win to have any chance of catching them. They've had a remarkable season," Turner told BBC Sport.
"I could imagine them thinking if they come here and win that they're over the finish line as champions."

Hereford will be without Daryl Taylor, who starts a three-match ban after he was sent off against Gravesend.
Alex Jeannin serves the final game of his three-match suspension, but Tony James is pushing for a place.
Accrington are boosted by the return of defender Robbie Williams after he completed a two-match suspension.
Leam Richardson will serve a one-match ban after being sent off in the win at Aldershot and Peter Cavanagh is a doubt with an ankle injury.

If Hereford boss Graham Turner was approaching the end of the season with trepidation, it would be quite understandable.
After all, the long-serving Bulls boss has seen his side narrowly fail in the Conference play-offs in each of the past two seasons - and the likelihood is that they will be in the shake-up once again when this campaign ends.
Runners-up for the past two years, the Bulls look set to claim the bridesmaid's position once again, thanks to Accrington's brilliant form this season.
But Turner is not one to complain - and insists he is still relishing the excitement of the play-offs.
Which may come as a surprise, considering he has seen teams which finished below his side in the Conference claim a place in the Football League ahead of them in both 2003-04 and 2004-05.
"Two seasons ago we finished 17 points ahead of the team which went up in the play-offs (Shrewsbury)," Turner told BBC Sport.
"It's sometimes disappointing when you go into play-offs ahead of everybody else. But you know the rules at the start of the season.
"By giving the Conference a second promotion place, what they've done is give the league a terrific boost."
Hereford are the only side which has any hope of catching Accrington Stanley - and even that hope is pretty slim.
Accrington are a whopping 16 points clear, and even if they lose to the Bulls in Saturday's top-two contest at Edgar Street - and Hereford then win their game in hand - the lead will still be 10 points.
"If there weren't play-offs, to all intents and purposes the season could really be over for most sides on Saturday if Accrington won," Turner said.
"The boost given to the Conference by the play-offs has been enormous and it's created a lot of interest."
Turner said Hereford's good record this season was down to a good combination of youth and experience - and he reserved special praise for the younger members of his squad who stepped in when his experienced players were hit by injury.
"We've got a very young side going out because of seven or eight injuries to senior players," he said.
"But I'm not particularly frustrated that I cannot field my first team because some of the players have been out for several weeks now, yet our results have continued to go quite well.
"We have got a lot of experience sat in the treatment room at the moment, and the quicker we get them back, the better I will feel.
"But I am not unhappy about putting the youngsters in there because I think they have been doing very well recently.
"They're playing with so much enthusiasm and exuberance."
I still think Hereford cant win this one, X2 for me

Quote:
York City's financial worries may not go away, but at least on the field the battle is being won.
The Minstermen have struggled to make ends meet since the Supporters' Trust formed to save the club from extinction a couple of years ago.
The repayment of a £100,000 instalment against a £2m Football Foundation loan to buy the club's ground has not been able to be met.
Redistribution of shares to cover a further £300,000 loan from the company
owned by the family of City's managing director Jason McGill is also under discussion.
But away from the balance sheets, manager Billy McEwan has quietly been assembling a side that could regain the club's Football League status.
"We just get on with it. It has been well highlighted over the last few years, the cash situation at our football club," McEwan told BBC Sport.
"The main thing is that we have got a club, and the players get paid.
"We have had overnight stays before away games and pre-match meals and we try and prepare as professionally as we can.
"One supporter paid for us to stay over in Scarborough for our game at New Year and the fans have been magnificent.
"They raised money to keep the reserve team and are now doing something similar to try and repair the pitch.
"The fans are fantastic and we are just hoping we can get a few more to cheer us on."
York's gates have fallen since their relegation from League Two in 2004, although behind Hereford they remain the second best supported side in the Conference.
And the hard-core fans are at last being treated to a winning side after McEwan was appointed last February to stop the rot.
"At one stage it looked as though we were going to go down to Conference North," said McEwan, who took on the challenge after nine years on Derby County's coaching staff.
"We put a stop to that and we are gradually recovering as a football club. But we are still not there yet."
McEwan refuses to publicly contemplate a play-off finish, although a run of four successive wins has thrown up a genuine opportunity.
The former Rotherham and Sheffield United manager has engineered a promotion challenge with one of the Conference's smallest squads.
He largely re-built the club's playing staff last summer and then in January had another mini clear-out as half-a-dozen more players were released.
"I felt things were standing still and were not progressing as well as I thought they could," McEwan added.
"I had to do it. Things were tight money-wise and it (keeping fringe players) was stopping us from bringing others in.
"I had to get two out to get one in and we wanted to get in a little bit more experience.
"But it has also been good for players like David Pounder and Ryan Mallon, who wanted to be playing first-team football."
McEwan did not want the uncertainty of having to use short-term loan players and so brought in the Darlington pair of David McGurk and Stephen Thomas until at least the end of the season and even paid a small fee for Scarborough captain Neil Bishop.
With namesake Andy Bishop - one of few survivors from the pre-McEwan days - now the Conference top-scorer, York are timing their run well.
McEwan, a no-nonsense Scot, believes his team has shed its image as a soft touch and their current form earned him the Conference's February manager-of-the-month award.
"It is a big thing for York City Football Club and hopefully it's the first of many successes we bring," he said.
For McEwan, actions speak louder than words.

York defender James Dudgeon returns after a one-match suspension, but long-term absentee Jamie Price will again be missing with an ankle injury.
Boss Billy McEwan will be looking to strikers Clayton Donaldson and Andy Bishop to continue their good form.
Gravesend have two fresh injury concerns, with James Smith and Paul McCarthy doubtful with ankle and calf injuries respectively.
Andy Drury (ankle) and Bobby Bowry (foot) are also doubts,
No mention of MaCdonald there zzax ??
Got to be a York win surely

Quote:
Striker Daryl Clare looks set to leave cash-strapped Crawley Town, reports BBC Southern Counties Radio.
Clare, 27, did not appear for training on Thursday, and boss John Hollins has allowed him to talk to the several clubs who are chasing him.
The Red Devils were forced to put their entire squad up for sale last week.
Midfielder Simon Wormull has already left for Lewes, while utility man Ian Simpemba is a target for Crawley's Conference rivals Aldershot Town.
We all love Crawley Bye Bye

Quote:
Morecambe have completed the signing of striker Adriano Rigoglioso.
Rigoglioso, 26, has returned to the Shrimps following his released by Doncaster in January and has agreed a deal until the end of the season.
He made over 100 Conference appearances in his first spell at the club and had been training with the Shrimps squad.
"I am pleased to be back. Morecambe are in with a chance of the play-offs and hope to be able to help them achieve that," he told the club's website.
Used to be a good player, havent heard much about past 2 seasons, good news for Morecambe?

Quote:
Halifax are set to be without Martin Foster, who is suspended and John Grant, who is suffering from illness.
Danny Forrest is pushing to partner Lewis Killeen in attack with Steve Bushell also hoping for a call-up.
Exeter City will be without 13-goal top scorer Lee Phillips, who is ruled out with a chest injury after falling awkwardly in the win against Southport.
Skipper and midfielder Glenn Cronin is an injury doubt with a hand injury but is expected to be passed fit.
I dont mind Phillips being missing although a good player, Foster and Grant missing for Halifax is a possible worry for them, the two of them have scored 12 of Towns 42 goals this season.

Quote:
Grays are sweating on the fitness of Ade Olayinka, who took a knock against Tamworth, while Andy Edwards is struggling with a toe injury.
Gary Hooper and Tommy Williamson are aiming for starting spots after substitute roles in the 1-1 draw with Cambridge United.

Woking have Steve Ferguson and Justin Richards back from suspension.

Chris Sharpling (hip) remains doubtful with Malik Buari also struggling to regain full fitness.
Woking must be boosted by having Richards back.

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

Top post that Kop and it's easy to see why the non-league thread is the most popular one this weekend.

Think that's the first time it's happened as normally the Scots boys kick-on from here.

Let's get a few winners in now to go with it.

Good Luck All,

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

I know mate. Problem is it's in the cup so there's no market.

Skybet will more than likely have odds out late Saturday / Sunday for the midweek game. There's is home to a useful Witton side (6th) so anything around evens and I'll look to be on.

EDIT - Did you say strike Can see them able to do that it the cup but wonder what'll happen in the league...nice info that WAS.

It's coming to the time of season when clubs have clear outs ahead of the summer. I may look to start (or anybody if they feel like it) a "Non-league clubs in trouble" thread as there's sufficient interest around the matches at present. Another team I've been monitoring is Tiverton Town as they've just begun theirs and shipped their captain off. The manager has issued a "playing to be here next season" rallying cry so it'll be interesting what happens tomorrow with their game.

Speaking of clubs in trouble Cambridge City have a pitch inspection tomorrow. I'm really pleased that their fine form is continuing in spite of their off field problems. Mind you thats probably due to my EW Ante=post bet. God - when did I become such a dispicable character???

Re: Non-League 11th/12th

That's one to look at Bromsgrove, Southport look like they may be without their entire central defence. One to check up on definitely especially if that 19/20 is still knocking about somewhere.

I can't really add anymore on the rest of the non-league games I'm interested in as they've already been covered more thoroughly and more eloquently than I could manage. Good work as ever folks.

Ian, whilst I'm happy to read your comments could you tell us why?

Or do you simply agree with my earlier analysis and 3pts staked on Lewes ?
