Invitations?

Just got an e-mail telling me "We have allocated 2 invitations to your account". When I click on the link I get told I don't have the authorisation to visit the page I'm trying to access.

Anyone any idea what that's all about?

Re: Invitations?

I aint here RC but i do. I'm hoping for a bit of help on it from slick. Eventually people should be able to send out invitations to everyone (or who they chose) on their msn, aol, yahoo, facebook, myspace accounts just by the click of a button. The friends will be sent a nice registration form. To me it's a great idea and should get us some new posters and ones that will be a bit chatty too poss. Ive left it with slick and Mick to see what they think and after the turkish language pack screwing the forum up last night ive relegated myself to frontpage only. Hopefully it is a good idea and we can all reap the benefits. I'll go look at permissions for now just so as folks dont get the error. Also i wasnt aware it was sending out emails either. I was under the impresson it was at the registration period or else folks could click a link. If you see head nor hair of a link to it anywhere then let me know as i cant find the bugger.

Re: Invitations?

Would it not have been a better idea to wait until the thing was actually ready then, rather than sending out e-mails with a link to a service which doesn't currently exist?

Hmmm i am split here.

Mainly because there is nothing more fucking annoying than getting constant emails to social network sites im not on saying "Person A wants to be your friend....sign up here".

I used to get like 20 a day from Bebo alone so i guess it worked long term as i ended up signing up but still...
