Re: Review Help

heh heh that worked im da man. Who says im shit at all this? I sure as hell get into some meaty stuff way above my head. Poker can fcuk off when there's things like this about. Right so if i add a '1' (for now) to the copied table and then errrr....nope i dont want to emulate the whole box just the 'price' field. fcuk. k lets start afresh then..actually if i was to repliacte the rating bar 1-10 that might work better. I supose i could just leave it simple but why have it simple when you can have it with more to look at. nah thats a bit confusing truth be told. Back to the Price field then.

so if i dupliacte the price in reviews.tmpl and then add a new string in the lang

PHP Code:
$Globals['pp_lang']['price'] = "Price you paid?"
to 'price1'

if these things work on that logic then i should have a new field....he heh ehe i did. Right lets add 3 more of these fields to the custom sidpaly and see if it gonna all work independent of each other

actually ill need to have a look at this. There seems to be another string thingy involved
PHP Code:
            <tr>
            <
td>
                <
table border="0" width="100%" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="1">
                    <
tr>
                    <
td align="center" class="{$Style['tddetails']}">
                        <
span class="{$Style['small']}">{$Globals['pp_lang']['recomby']}</span>
                    </
td>
                    <
td align="center" class="{$Style['tddetails']}">
                        <
span class="{$Style['small']}">{$Globals['pp_lang']['avgprice']}</span>
                    </
td>
                    <
td align="center" class="{$Style['tddetails']}">
                        <
span class="{$Style['small']}">{$Globals['pp_lang']['avgrate']}</span>
                    </
td>
                    </
tr><tr>
                    <
td align="center" class="{$Style['tddetails']}">
                        <
span class="{$Style['small']}"><b>$percrec</b></span>
                    </
td>
                    <
td align="center" class="{$Style['tddetails']}">
                        <
span class="{$Style['small']}"><b>$avgprice</b></span>
                    </
td>
                    <
td align="center" class="{$Style['tddetails']}">
                        <
span class="{$Style['small']}"><b>$avgrating</b></span>
                </
td>
                </
tr>
                </
table>
            </
td>
            </
tr

Re: Review Help

K ive duplicated and changed this string-

PHP Code:
$Globals['pp_lang']['avgprice'] = "Average Price"
right here goes the new fields will be in the bottom row. The middle and left should be the same but the right should be dif. If all this goes well then i suppose pull down section boxes would be the way to go. Man ive practicaly re-wrote the damn thing

hmm not a success. for one the av price has a $ sign and for 2 my custom rating hasnt shown. Bollock i give up. the avg price can just go and we can just have the rating and thats it. Thought i was onto something there. If anyone with an understandment of php can see where i have went wrong then feel free to tell me.

Re: Review Help

It's a bit confusing initiailly, maybe as everything is blending in a bit but it's fine once the eyes adjust. Should we have a reviews page for the reviews page?

Re: Review Help

For sure mick. I was thinking of having a page with all the 'products' and their ratings. I havent worked out how to do it yet. i cant get access to the ;memebr forums' at reviewpost. Need slick to give me our errrrr username and pass

I forget what im doing here a my brain is fried. aye thats it i need to know if the custom fields we add are sortable. I fear that they aint so maybe keywords is the way to go with the searches. ill go have a big jobby and ponder on how this is gonna display products and ratings on a new page

Re: Review Help

looks like we may have to create the header and footer using html as the pop out menu skin aint gonna work on it and the only other option in the admin panel is creating html ones and inputting teh path to them in the global options.

Re: Review Help

aye for sure Slick. everything else i sussed out. the hour spent looking at making new fields wasnt needed as they are easily makable in the options (EDIT CATS) It doesnt take the html code in the product fields but i woke up with an idea in that we can jam all our own fields in the description which does take html. sadly for all this to work its gonna take many man hours so i better go start
