im thinking that this could be ok possibly. we just have a running update of teams user submitted (make it easy for them) also mick this works better as the latest reports/team updates etc is just below the main display.

Rating - based on how wel they are playing right now irrespective of results
injuries - possibly just a text field saying how bad it is. I think we would have to have most of this on the one form and people can use it to update. i will go look at maing that submission form as easy as possible for them. i would still need fields like 'injuries' etc johnny so anything you want tell us. Lets keep this strictly betting oriented. who cares what the clubs telephone number is we just care about team news and fans thoughts. lets gear it towards that. i think if we set it up well enough, with a bit of advertising (spam?) we cold get folks in to fill up the teams and then better than that if it's all made easy enough they could return to update us. It can only be good

edit: we need to make it so as we have a link to 'add match reports' for each club in the man area. when you click 'add match report' it takes us to the submission page just for that club. this can be done with 'arguements' or 'tokens' possibly. I dont understand either yet. not had a chance to.

Here's a good field johnny. Its a question asking how well your team is doing at the moment. we need to add some answers for the select list. my 'testers' are

Bad shape & getting worse
Bad shape but improvment expected
Playing ok just been unlucky
Playing well etc etc

I suppose this means i could create a table and have that as a filter and we could all see whos doing well etc at a click. Obviously all this depends on user input but if it aint set up to accept user input then we cant get user input. ill go make up a page anyhow as you never know what we could make here. could be great or jut a waste of time. never know unless we try. ill make the 'how is your team playing' a required field for every post.

I was 3 weeks on Holidays, so missed all this talk. Glad you have interest in it. Komp, I think you are complicating it a bit. What I thought is to have quality ante post treads (as our scottisch lower, leage 2 or championship treads already are) and then simply for each round as we have previews and tipping treads to have new tread for each round, as a round up, pointing to the the highlights. We can start this treads with reviews from ESPN (copy and paste with remark) and then folks which have found out more info on the net or watching the games, have the oportunity to give their comentaries.

Maybe is the best to try to keep it as simple as it gets at the beggining and when folks get involved (if) look for further features.

The whole idea is following. There is many folks outthere watching games, reading reviews, knowing the game, but they dont post simply because they dont like to fail and becase its hard to pick a winner. Or to give good preview and some moron, who for example have heard only for big 4 in england pick winner, and come afterwards and say: "I told you so".

I will try to make overview for german BL in next two weeks and to give a hand there.

nah there's nothing really quality about anything johnny but we are in the position to make things quality. so your saying that we just categorise everything week by week and to make it as best as we can? the intro..the initial thoughts..the team news, the final selections, the agony the joy the round up, the in reflection. Are you wanting extra input from the fans or the bettors Johnny? If it was the fans then all we would need is a 'team' category and each week have a 'content item' on the game. this content item would have discussion from the forum on it, team news, stats even, links to previous reports (in time) It cvould be like the 'insider' on the sfl site

sod it im gonna go try make ..bah frontpage is down. im imagining it as being on our frontpage and updated (by us all) as the week goes on. one page for it all. Major team new promted to the front of it all and general interaction with the forum thread included. we could have match report fields to add any reports as we read them. idf we dont do it then we dont. i think we will though as it will all be so snug. i'll go see if i can do anything Johnny buit all i can say to you is that if we want to put things in little boxes we can.

Komp if we can gather serious info how teams were playing, motivation, form, coaches, desplay of newcommers..... I am sure with time more folks will get involved adn it will become must read.

I am sure thats at least what you can expect. We can become better then all other sites. Best info you you can get is on fan sites, but there is too much quotes like >>we will kick your ass<< or >> Goooo kilmaaaarnockckck<<

Well google respects hard work Johnny and trust me even though i aint here posting the hard work is being done and thats why TDP isnt going to be just a nice wee forum amongst friends as everyone else seemed to envisage. I couldnt have that as i like the best Johnny and i expect nothing barr.

regarding all this johnny i need to try and 'come into' you all and we can strike up a happy medium. you can say 'what can you do that?' and i will say 'of course johnny' I aint great at the presentation yet but im starting to understand the fundementals johnny. how about for now till we get back on front page (probs) we say that i will take scot's 1-2-3 for now and you take english cc 2? Lets think what we want to see and how easy and if its all worth it.

On a friday night (from 8pm onwards) i want to be able to look at a scottish football game. I want to view it by clicking on it on the frontpage. I want to see at least 5 or 6 fans from each team telling us their thoughts. I want team news with a bit of substance with us knowing what it all really means. I want previous experiences of this game and if there has been any meetings betwen the 2 this season i want to click 'match reports' and i will be redirected to a page with match reports and views from ghere there and everywhere. I want to see 'comical' TEAM RATINGS. Not funny in their existance more so just votes from the fans. i want to see 'positives' and fans telling us whats going for a team and 'negatives' and see whats going against a team, All this will all just be intermigled with the scots thread (for comments) and with one thing or another going on at TDP the now it gives me heart again for it all. Maybe im just thinking too hard Johnny. The reason i do is i know how easy it is to present things to poeple now and with a bit of work we should be able to do it and do it well. all we care about is our Scottish Coupon and it will be just full of the facts that are important for any scottish football coupon lover.

NP, thats OK with me.
I thought to take care of german reviews and folks over the see(looking from my point the view) take care about island stuff, but an give a try with cc2.

Or maybe we let Mickey doing cc2 so we gathre more options (views) how we can carry it on.

Just one more thing. I have full time job + some 10-15 overtime hours weekly, and will never be able to be moderator or to be someone who can carry whole thing. I will give my best according to little spare time that I have.

You stick with Germany, Johhny. I'm happy with the lower English leagues. I'll need to read over this thread a few times as it is getting a bit complicated.

The way I saw this working in the beginning was, for example, "Wow! QPR haven't conceded a goal in 5 consecutive home games. They must be rock solid at home. I'll go check their TDP page for the reviews of those games.."

*click-click* You reach the QPR page with little summaries of all their games with links to more detailed reports, stats and so on. You glance over the brief reviews of those 5 home games in which they've failed to concede and see something along the lines of (not necessarily as brief as this ):

That sort of thing. Links for stats, player info and all the bells and whistles would of course be lovely too but that's something we can build on as we go.

That could probably be workable with forums and threads too (I think). Forum for each club - thread for each match. Player info and latest news sticky thread.

Mick a forum is just a form in its most simplest of forms. Its got a title and a Body and thats it.We have the ability to make it so much better than that and im sorry but we need to first of all forget the whole idea of using forums as that just ..well it will be shit and it wont allow us to do this well. I'll have a think again now we've got a bit more of an idea of what we want.
