Blogs?

I dont know if this is a good idea or not. Feel free to shoot it down

At he discretion of the higher powers some members could be allocated a blog hosted here. The well known members who all make big contributions. Komp is man crying out for a blog if ever I have seen one, he does seem to have one on the go at his own site I think, ODM could certainly fill an entertaining blog with his rants at all things stupid and irritating, the poker players ones would make entertaining reading I am sure (Jezza, Alien, Muze, Dave etc), Kiko could keep us up to date with all his binging. Theres plenty I would be intrested in reading.

Of course being a forum this would most likely take away from posts but it would have it all in one place. For example you might hear about ODM's gambling weekend in the british forum, his unbelivable run in with a squirrel in general and a shocker of a bad beat from the poker forum, would stick it all in one place. I dont know if it would be possible to find a proper balance or if anyone would be intrested in the extra time it would require.

An example of a decent use of it would be if I had one, I could use it to track my poker progress, post up session results, intresting hands I played etc. While I could have a thread in the poker forum for this not everyone wants to keep track of it but those that are intrested could check my seperate blog, if I wanted opinions/advice on certain things then I could make a seperate thread in the relevant forum.

Although its possible it may decrease the amount of posts it might encourage the people who have blogs to post stuff on it that they might not have posted on the forum therefore increasing the amount of "stuff" posted.

Seems like an alright idea Wazik.

Not sure entirely about it all being linked back to here and Mickey and Slick would be the ones for all that to speak with.

The poker ones especially would be interesting to read but then again it could take away like you say them stories from being posted on the forum. Guess could easily do a copy and paste job about.

Definitely sounds like it's worth considering. Slick is still away on holiday I think, and he'll no doubt have a view on how it would work in practice.


I understand the point about taking away from posts but if they could be somehow linked to(or just copy and pasted into/from) threads, maybe they could actually increase postings instead of reducing them.

just a bit busy getting things back into shape for the day ~wazik but im pretty sure we could have it so as every member of TDP can have their own blog. I'll have a word with slick when ghe gets back

Theres plenty of blog sites to use but i do like the idea of having TDP host its own blogs, with direct links to them off the main site.

I'll have a look at what can be done in the week and and post up the results in here.
