Re: England v New Zealand

For a series spread punt, try Broad runs quoted at 85-95. He absolutely knows - with competition for quicks - he has to add something at 8. Has the talent, technique and growing maturity to do so. Started cricketing life as a batsman and fully expect a first Test 50 in this series.

Averages 23 with the bat in Tests.

1 pt BUY Broad series runs @ 95

Re: England v New Zealand

The price on the draw is coming in. It's hard to know which weather sites to trust but they all have rain interupting play tomorrow. Assume probably min. half a day lost in my guess. Friday is split, some say rain, some merely cloudy then dry for the weekend.

I'm torn now.

Feel whichever way i come down between England & Draw the weather and price will go against me tomorrow. Sounds a lot like its best to sit the result out for a day or jump on in-running tomorrow.

Toying with Redmond for top NZ bat - seems in good touch and appears (From the little i know of him) to be an stayer rather than the more flamboyant/hit 'n' miss options that surround him. Test debut is what counts against him though as the nerves might be up.

Re: England v New Zealand

I'll take these for a bit of interest.

2pts @ 4/5 - Broad Player performance 85+
1pt @ 5/6 - McCullum Player performance 89+
0.5pt @ 7 - Redmond Top NZ Bat

Broad will get plenty of overs as part of a 4 man attack and should be looking for a min 3 wicket return from the two innings. I think he'll do better than that. Even at 3 wickets that leaves him needing just 25 runs and as Pie mentions he's capable of that.

McCullum has been taking about 3 catches a match of late leaving 59 runs in two innings. He's capable of that and the IPL has shown him to be in good form and he did ok in the warm up games. I think this has a decent chance.

I like that Broad spread Pie but i'm not a spread betting man, yet, i've got my spreadbet cherry popping moment pencilled in for the near future.

Fixed odds, Broad is perf 88 in this, just 3 over his quote at Lord's.

This guy is getting beter each game and height here on a pitch with lift will see him well. There's a 50 for Broad with the bat in this series. Could it be here?

Dive in on Broad perf 88+ @ 5/6 with 365

Re: England v New Zealand

There have been three 4-day games at Trent Bridge this season. Ave 1st innings score a meagre 213. Swing bowling to the fore.
With good weather for the weekend, the draw can effectively be ruled out.

In a two-horse race NZ are quoted at 11/2.

Good value

Re: England v New Zealand

Got to agree tbh. The weather in the midlands has been shite until today so the preparation wont be great & I saw Trent Bridge was under water @ lunch in the Windies/Oz test yesterday, so it certainly looks like a result.
Its hard to see NZ playing consistently enough over 5 days with this side to win a test.....but 3 days is another matter. Give NZ the toss & they're worth a wager I think & it just remains to be seen whether I lay England instead

Re: England v New Zealand

80-odd for 2 @ lunch, KP & Strauss in.
Got a little bit on NZ & I've just taken a bit of England @ 1.94, also layed England to get 300 runs @ 1.54 as I think thats just wrong. Not betting too much as I've been out of it for a while really.
Think thats about par, think NZ would have wanted 3 this morning
Good to see you boys, Pie & Broms

Re: England v New Zealand

Sorry Broms, missed the Alvechurch question. Yes I am still there, 1sts captain now for my sins wasnt anybody else to do it really, but we're in the crap tbh......we're bottom & playing 2nd bottom on saturday so fingers crossed but need a good performance
Back to the test: Had a bit more of England @ 2.2 straight after lunch but I think they were available up to 2.6 which wasnt very high really considering they were 86-5 which goes to show that not a lot of people really fancy NZ at all.
I'm break even with NZ now, & in profit with England with average odds of evens. The time to back NZ has gone though now I reckon, as I cant see a draw here.
A lots been said of the average first class score here this season is only 214, but the highest is only 279 & England will beat that in the morning. All in all I think the home sides in a decent position although Sidebottom going down the order with 'a twinge' is worrying, but it only strengthens the Broad bet for the lads.
NZ have had their chance in this test the way I see it. Its been helpful all day & to let a side recover from 86-5 to nigh on 300 is a problem that not many sides recover from, particularly when the bowling is generally more reliable than the batting & Vettori & Martin were poor today.
I traded out on the under 300 @ 2.75 when 4 down so in profit there, & I've got unmatched bets on NZ laying 250 & 175 at the moment. I think they'll have to come out & have a go at this & I dont think the 3 day test is out the window yet although I'd rather have Pies 14.0 than the 6.0 I had a nibble of.
England all the way from here for me & I fancy the Kiwis getting bundled for under 200

Re: England v New Zealand

Yeah, g'day Midlanders.

Sold England runs at start at 345; bailed out at 311 for bit of profit when KP and Ambrose started to look good.

spreads have Kiwis 275-295, which looks a bit high. But, if Taylor gets going... Redmond owes test runs. Will be risking my profit above on his individual runs if he's quoted 35-38 ish.

A bit of a start obviously crucial for NZ as McCullum at 3 is a worry against glistening cherry.

Go Kiwis!
Go Alvechurch 1sts!
