Re: PDC World Darts Championships

Look forward to reading your thoughts on this Dave, any good bets much appreciated. If you could put some kind of staking/confidence rating on any bets you do thatd be sweet, cos ive noticed youve not done that on the snooks. I dont mind on the snooks cos I have a clue myself but with Darts I literally have NO CLUE

Yeah Dave i've got a bit of knowledge on the BDO but none on the PDC so I'll be following your punts too. Any chance of getting them up the evening before if poss as I usually miss them otherwise?

Re: PDC World Darts Championships

No idea about this really myself in most of the 1st round to be honest. 2nd round is where the money is to be made IMO, once I've watched most of the players (probably 1/3 I've never heard of), but before the bookies have sorted their prices out.

I'll try to put stakes, but I've been betting level stakes recently on the fixed odds anyway.

At a very quick first glance, without looking at form of players, Denis Ovens maybe @ 1.57, Gary Welding @ 4.50 and Alex Roy @ 1.80. In fact I really like that price on Alex Roy, unless I find out that Richie Burnett had recaptured some of his old form, which I would have thought unlikely.

A short priced acca on Barneveld, Scholten, Preistley and Wade looks very safe, and pays 1.34 @ Skybet. Really can't see any of them losing. You could add in Taylor, but @ 1/200 it's not really worth the risk

I should post any bets for afternoon matches the night before, and I'll try my best with the evening matches, although I may not look at them until I'm home from work, in the later rounds at least, when there's fewer to look at.

Yeah thats cool - I'll be home in the early evening to have a look at any evening bets.

Failing that I'll PM you my work number and you can just give me a quick ring each afternoon

Re: PDC World Darts Championships

The injury I'd forgotten about to be honest. I'll try to find out how he's been doing in the tournaments in between.

Part is not a player to back at short odds. Much better player when he's got a big challenge, and always liable to being the victim of a shock.

Which Jenkins? Andy or Terry?

Re: PDC World Darts Championships

I'll be putting stakes from 1-20pts, although in all likelihood 3, 5, 7, 10 and 20 pts will be the only stakes I use.

Day 1
Mick McGowan to beat Matt Clark 10pts @ 1.33 (Blue Square, Skybet)
McGowan is a class player, and has been winning right, left and centre. Assuming he transfers his floor form onto the TV stage he should be far too strong for Clark. Hopefully he'll get through no problems, and then Phil Taylor may have a real tough match in round 2.

Re: PDC World Darts Championships

First match is over, Adrain Gray shocking Ronnie Baxter. The averages should appear on planetdarts.tv at some point, but I think both were over 90, so it wasn't a case of Baxter playing badly. Gray faces the winner of Bob Anderson and Darren Webster I believe, and you'd have to fancy his chances of taking either of them out on that showing.

Re: PDC World Darts Championships

Steve Maish loses 3-2 to Havenga, so in the first 2 matches 1.17 and 1.20 favourites have been turned over. Slept through that macth, but I can't imagine Havenga had to play too well to beat Maish.

Macgowan (as the longest odds favourite of the day) now looks a certain loss based on what's been happening so far.

Jenkins 2 sets to 1 up on Lawrence, so normality may be restored in this one.
