16. June Group B Poland v Croatia

Maybe I'm wrong , but I could image that Croatia will allow Poland to overun Croatia easily in order to eliminate germany as potential opponent in future stages of the EM.

After Croatia beat Austria they would also love to see Germany eliminated, just for tonns spitefulness.

There is a need of more than two goals and I'm convinced that Croatia who is allready quallyfied will give them the 3 points and probably more than two goals.

That means of course, that Austria have to beat Germany and Poland must be in advance of 2 goals.

Poland vs Croatia:

Win for Poland by more than one goal difference

Betfair 2.40 - 3.95 - 2.96

or Double Chance VCbet 1.62 for Poland-Draw

wouldn't bet on that, we definately won't play to lose the match, we didn't do it against Bilic's favorite team, and second favorite country, after Croatia ofcourse, and he/they won't do it in 3 days either. It is not good for atmosphere in team to play and lose even if it has no importance what so ever. Think we prove that....
there might be some changes in team, you will be informed in time,

damn, this hangover is a killer

[quote=Mrs. Smith;522428] wouldn't bet on that...

Yeah... we halfhearted Germans became buried by Croatia. LOOLLL

...but next game for Croatia will be against Chechia or Turkye. And there for they need to be fit. Was there not a fitness hole in the game against Austria?
Why not saving power for the final quarter and beside eleminating a potencial opponent? I believe its all about tactical reasons.
One question Mrs. Smith, please tell me is Croatia a team who is allways plaing for the teamspirit or did they play in past also leaded by tactical reasons like Italy to do so? Thanks in Advance.

No logic at all to that argument though, Swodka.

The only way Germany can possibly get knocked out is if they lose to Austria. If Germany do lose that game, they're out, regardless of what happens between Croatia and Poland. Your argument would only be relevant if Croatia for some reason wanted Poland to qualify ahead of Austria.

Welcome to TDP, by the way

Re: 16. June Group B Poland v Croatia

OK, I thought you were saying Croatia would want to see Germany eliminated.

To be honest, I can't really see why Croatia would prefer to see Poland qualify rather than Austria. Fair enough, Austria are the home side, but they're also probably the weakest side in it. I'd be delighted to have the chance to face Austria in the semi-finals if I were a Croatia fan.

You're right that it wouldn't be a surprise to see Croatia rest a few players, but if they do I'd say it'll be due to their own interests in resting a few players, and nothing to do with trying to help Poland qualify ahead of Germany and Austria.

Re: 16. June Group B Poland v Croatia

If this was the Eurovision football contest then i would have my doubts but Billic has shown his team plays with their heart on their sleeves and i wouldent expect anything different here, only thing i would consider is can Bilic afford to rest any players? but somehow i don't think even that is in his makeup, Croatia will go for the win here i have no doubts and will probbaly get it as Poland have been pretty poor so far.

than God it is not Eurovision contest, but it is football one..

Bilic is probably going to rest players with yellow cards, R. Kovac, Simunic, Srna and Modrić. Srna wouldn't play because he got kick in his leg and he missed yesterday training as well as Speedy Gonzales Olić as he needs some rest.
according to papers this could be one of formations:

it is not 100% sure, but Bilic doesn't want to lose the game, but he doesn't want to lose players for quaterfinals. They watched both Polish games, he said, very closely, cause they don't want to kick of thier shoes, they want to win, because of the team spirit, atmosfere, and Croatian people who are especting another victory. They have motive, they have desire and a this team above is not bad, if things go bad then changes will be made..

more news to come later...

Poland v Croatia - Klagenfurt

The night's other Group B encounter is a tough one to weigh up for punters.

Refreshing Croatia boss Slaven Bilic has kept everything up front and said that none of his players on a yellow card will play in this game after they wrapped up top spot - while he is also likely to rest a number of other key performers.

So no Luka Modric, Robert Kovac, Josip Simunic or Darijo Srna among others.

It is now a question of whether Poland are good enough to take advantage of their depleted opponents as it is a must-win scenario.

They certainly had their moments against Germany in the first game of their campaign but then had goalkeeper Artur Boruc to thank for keeping them in the competition in last week's 1-1 draw with Austria.

Even coach Leo Beenhakker has given up the ghost now in terms of progress and although I wouldn't risk a wager, it would be no surprise to see the confident Croats take maximum points.

Verdict: Poland 0 Croatia 1

Re: 16. June Group B Poland v Croatia

I'm not going to place a bet on this one!

I'm a liar!
wel, just a small one, all of the players that will play will want to prove themselves to Bilić, so I believe we want lose this game. Considering the fact there are a lots Croats in Klagenfurt, they will have another very good reason to play for, knowing Cro press and people will be mad if they play bad or loose the match. Even if things will go wrong Bilić will do something. Goalkeeper Pletikosa will probably be replaced with Runje.
Croatia wins @ 3,20 just for a beer and chips

Re: 16. June Group B Poland v Croatia

I think that we will despite changes keep it tight and Poles lack sharpness upfront.
Hence under for me.
