Champions League Top Goalscorer

Am I missing something here? Never one to be afraid of making a fool of myself, I'll ask the question.

Here are the current odds

Best prices

Ronaldo 8/13 Bluesq

Torres 7/1 Paddy Power

Gerard 9/1 bet365

Messi 10/1 365 boyles skybet coral

If I have it right, Messi is one goal behind Ronaldo.

I know the bookies are assuming that Ronaldo also has three games to play and Messi only has two at best (although as he started as sub on Sunday, he may be even less)

Assuming that there is no silly tie break criterion (and if it was, you'd assume it would be goals per minutes played which Messi would win anyway) then Messi only has to score one goal and Ronaldo none and you're paid out as a dead heat (i.e half your stake at 10/1).

It's always dangerous to back against Ronaldo scoring but considering United are no certs to even get through to the final, I think this is a fantastic opportunity to nail at least a dead heat at a decent price.

Unless someone can talk me out of it in the next 20 minutes I'm getting on it.

Cracking value price that is.

Ronaldo tends to not be so lethal against the top top sides and the bookies are assuming that United are already through which is far from happening just now.

No idea Komp.

I find it startling that Gerrard is ahead of Messi too in the betting. Messi only playing on one leg for the rest of the tournament or something?

Easily a more regular goalscorer than Gerrard.

Probably took it down whilst the other game was in play Komp. No reason why it shouldn't be available now (or at least in the morning) but with Torres and Droghba failing to score tonight you'd have to think the price may have shortened a bit - unless there's news that he's not playing tomorrow of course.

Only Paddy Power quoted on oddschecker at the moment and they are going 9/1 for Messi.

I agree about Gerrard Kiko (he's 6/1 at PP by the way). Maybe they bookies are trying to anticipate the weight of cash from England and that punters will just lump on the golden boys regardless.

That 6/1 looks even dodgier given that they HAVE to score now against Chelsea or they are out.

Re: Champions League Top Goalscorer

you should all play on Ronaldo, he will score twice tonight, that's it, he just told me that last night, you know pillow talk

damn, he is not even my type!

messi just came back, he won't be that good, and Little Portugese boy is in form....

rest of them (Torres, Gerrard) are boriiiing and I can not imagine loads of goals at Stamford Bridge, and I don't like Pool or Chelsea, specially Chelsea since Jose left, he was funny

why am I still here???

The way he's played for much of this season, I wouldn't trust him to keep his keys in his pocket, never mind Ronaldo.
