Hibs face Elfsborg in Intertoto

Hibernian will play Elfsborg in the Intertoto Cup second round after the Swedish side overcame HB Torshavn of the Faroe Islands 4-1 on aggregate.

Elfsborg won the first leg 4-1 away from home and held their opponents to a 0-0 draw in the second leg.

Mixu Paatelainen's men will play their first leg Intertoto Cup game at Easter Road on 6 July.

The return in Sweden will be played six days later, with the winners meeting Riga or Bohemians for a Uefa Cup place.

The Swedish Allsvenskan resumes this midweek after a break for the European Championship.

Elfsborg lie second in the table after 11 games, three points behind leaders Kalmar.

In truth know nothing about toto other than hibs playing but with elf in season (oo er!)

I was just looking at lfborg the other day betfly. I dont know much about either team. I would have to fancy Hibs at home though. Looks an ok price to me. Oh you dont As i say i dunno Betfly but my leanings are towards Hibs to nick it. Be hard mind

Nah all this is a step too far for me. Being skint and saturday nightshift soon ruins a weekend for me. I think about other things than Intertoto betting. shame really. I would be interested in any info or thoughts that any members of The Daily Punt may have though. I really want to see them thoughts

Sivasspor had a terriffic season in Turkey, they were in the title hunt to the last few weeks. Evens looks a good price against a side from Montenegro who scraped into the next round on away goals, considering Sivasspor put it up to Turkish heavyweights Galatasary, Fenerbache and Besiktas all season. I do however remember Atletico Madrid failing to win away from home last season against a small side so the intertoto can be quite scary to bet on.

It's hard to gauge how interested some teams are in the competition which is probably why I rarely bet on it. However I can't resist taking a bet on Swedish side Elfsborg when they visit Hibs this afternoon.

It's fairly straightforward reasoning. Elfsborg are midway through their season and lie second in the championship. Whilst Hibs have not long started pre-season training.

Off course Elfsborg would also be content with a draw allowing them to finish the tie off at home. Then again, with quotes around 3.00 widely available I'm willing to take the risk.

Medium stakes on Elfsborg @ 3.00
