On a totally seperate note, I thought Celtic's green strip tonight looked good, much better than the hoops they usually wear

Good work by that photographer

[quote=crowie]Its hard to understand how to fix it but only when McGeady, Maloney and Aliadiere were on did we look to have any sort of pace and drive - and Maloney/McGeady were to busy trying to be heroes on their own. The less said about McGeadys miss at 2-0 (was it 2, it was all a blur to me) the better.

QUOTE]

I lost a packet on the result of this game but looking at the Celtic team what crowie said above sums up my views exactly.

Watched a couple of Celtics friendlies and they where poor - I thought their is no way they would carry that form over as they would be playing their strongest team as this is worth a lot of candy to them to qualify.

I was proved way wrong..................

Re: Champions League - Wednesday 27th July

I'm not going to bother reading on all the comments here on Celtic as it will depress me even more.

Last night at 4-0 down i went to bed thinking my world had fallen apart. This morning i woke up hoping it was a bad dream and they had lost 1-0 or something. See it ended 5-0

I am utterly disgusted. I don't mind getting a drubbing by a side that are quality in your Milan moulds etc but Artmedia???

FFS, come on - no disrespect to them but they aren't exactly a quality side even though they won 5-0.

It showed that they had started their league campaign before Celtic as they were by far sharper than Celtic to everything 50/50 available.

Celtics defence is just absolute dire. Balde and Varga's time is up. They have given us some good years but they must go now.

Camara showed he was out of his depth while Telfer didn't seem to do too much wrong.

Lennon is too slow for Europe now and the scary thing is he won't be dropped because he is Celtic new captain.

That was honestly the worst performance in Europe i have ever witnessed. Ive seen the humping in Basle, Shakhtar but that really took the fucking biscuit last night.

It really showed the difference and how Europe is all about taking your chances. Celtic had 2 fantastic chances 1-0 down which shouldve put them 2-1 up. They miss them both and next minute they are 5-0 down.

My heads spinning just now. I really don't know what to say. But i will agree with the commentators. I am not blaming Strachan just yet. He put out the side anyone would've most likely played. The players have to take responsibility. Maybe they are too big for their boots and underestimated their opponents i dunno.

If there was one positive from the match it was we looked a better side with the pace up front of Alliadiarre and Maloney. And i know it is a bit optimistic but this side weren't great, they looked to me like a side that once they conceded one they would collapse (Bit like Celtic eh?).

Maybe if we can get an early goal and get a sell out we will have a small chance. I'd love to see them go gung ho next week. They have no choice and playing Zurawski, Alliadierre and Maloney would give me that glimmer of hope.

Anyways - im sure someone's probably mentioned this already, but what are Motherwell's odds for the weekend?

Re: Champions League - Wednesday 27th July

I realise some of you might have been looking for me a bit earlier

I've been to hell and back (and yes in heaven too at times) watching Celtic over more time than I care to remember. I can go back a long way believe me, though not as far as yon picture komp posted on the other thread - cheeky bast***d .

I've witnessed drubbings before but never by a team of this calibre, no offence intended to any other poster on here. Nobody in their wildest dreams expected anything like this. I've said my piece in other threads about Bobo and Varga and sadly my thoughts became reality last night and proved to be spot on. I'll say it again - no team ever won anything with a poor defence. Its as simple as that.

I agree wholeheartedly with some views expressed in this thread and Kiko's post above is right on the mark. You saw it the same as me mate.

Why is nobody mentioning next Tuesday at Parkhead?

I read an article recently about the best gamblers not going with the crowd and I'm thinking about some of the incredible comebacks we've witnessed in recent times such as Liverpool's comeback against Milan, Man City's at Spurs in the FA cup and Robert the Bruce at Bannockburn, when we 2,000 down at halftime.

Can it be turned round? I had an early look at betfair thinking about 100/1 to a small stake would give me a wee interest, only to find a few quid has been matched at 7.40 and 12.00 - fcuking unbelievable? Some poor soul now asking for 19.4 (hope its nobody on here).

I was talking to 2 punters today who genuinely believe Celtic can turn it round and one of them is a RANGERS season ticket holder He said;

"They are a bad lot. Celtic will be at least 3-0 up at half time and that mob will collapse." Sounds pretty straightforward doesn't it. . . .well doesn't it?

Me, I told them they were havering and the guys in white coats would be coming for them. Though maybe. . . just maybe. Hope springs eternal

Re: Champions League - Wednesday 27th July

Andy,

As I said in one of my many havering posts above, I had us out when it went to 3-0.

There's not enough creativity in the current side to muster 5 goals against this lot in 2 games at Parkhead never mind one. And keep clean sheets as well.

It knocks any other Celtic game in my time of following out of the position of "Worst display ever".

Just about for me too Mike, though I remember a 1-0 defeat at Annfield against Stirling Albion (no not Liverpool different spelling) quite a wee while back seemed like the blackest hour

Won't say any more in case komp reties me off the board

If I didn't laugh I would throw up :
