Re: Champions League semi's 01-02 May

It was no crime Rene and allthough Chelsea probably pipped it over the 90 mins I can only recall one shot on goal from them.
The semi was there to be won and they blew it again, liverpool on the other hand gave there all and everyone of them stood up to be counted unlike Chelsea where players like Lampard failed once more to show up on the big occasion and Drogba jumping around like a big girls blouse.

Liverpool fought throughout the match with even has beens like Zenden running till he dropped, same could not be said for Chelsea and Liverpool deserved to go through.

The game overall was shite though with both teams playing the long ball game hoping for something to drop to Crouch or Drogba respectively but nothing ever did. I'll give the ref his due mind as i thought he played a blinder and let quite a lot go.

Tonights game with Milan and United should be a lot more entertaining especially as United like to play attacking football down the flanks and have the ability to score from most situations.
The first game shown that Nesta and Maldini still have awareness but age is beginnig to creep up on them as they did begin to tire after an hr or so last week letting rooney in for a couple

Saying that Gattuso had a massive game last week and once he retired injured Milan never looked the same side as they were unable to control the middle without him, he's back tonight and if he manages a full 90 mins then Milan stand every chance of winning , especially with the form Kaka is in but things will be a lot different if Ferdinhand and Vidic are playing as they won't make the same mistakes that led to both Kakas goals last week.

I have not a got a clue which way this match will go as Milan shown for long periods at Old Trafford they possess class and can hold onto the ball with sublime passing but united possess speed and if playing on the counter could quite easily flatten the Milan Defence and score a couple.

Its a game full of ifs and buts and allthough not touching it, I would not be surprised to see United go through as they are a lot stronger than they were last week and they will play at full tempo for the full 90 mins and run the legs off an aging Milan side like we saw in the first leg.

IF Milan score first though then they have the ability and experience to shut up shop which would probably suit them more playing on the back foot, giving United no space for breaks and if that happens then i'd expect Milan to go through but with Rooney and Ronaldo up front who knows.

Probably a few goals in this again along with a string of bookings, allthough after watching last nights game the refs may have been told to go easy on the cards especially with the final coming up and one UEFA want to showpiece.

Totally agree. It was exciting but it was prehistoric football. Weren’t ffice:smarttags" />Chelsea just like Wimbeldon with better players? At least Liverpool tried to force the game more.

Best ref’s performance in ages at this level. He tried to let the game flow despite some tasty challenges that would have had more cards with most other refs. He played some decent advantages for both sides. More of the same tonight hopefully.

I fancied United last week and I fancy them again tonight. Bar Kaka and Gattuso I thought Milan were toothless last week. They looked old and slow. Milan will have to force the pace and a fast game will suit United a lot more than Milan. Celtic were just about worth the draw in Milan and an average Bayen nicked two so you would have to fancy United will score.

United to win 2 Points @ 3.6
Draw Saver 1 Point @ 3.4

Both Betfair.

I’m also going for a “fun” ht/ft bet. I can’t imagine Milan going all guns blazing at the start so a cagy opening period might be on the cards. With that in mind a frantic second half might be a possibility.

Draw / United @ 9.2
Draw / Milan @ 6.0

Both 0.25 points Betfair

Re: Champions League semi's 01-02 May

Last nite's game was tense and exciting but poor pish IMO
We might see some real football tonite with two teams that can pass the ball and not have to rely on a big punt up to a diving cheatin bassa or plenty of possession without actually doing much with it.
Can see there being quite a few goals again tonite....going for 2-2 draw, setting up the dream final, that UEFA and pub owners!!! want

Re: Champions League semi's 01-02 May

Last night was like watching Wimbledon [of old] v Watford very little football plenty of kick and rush.

The ball was released from intensive care at mid-day today.

Apparently it's wet and raining in Milan this will suit Man U's high tempo game as they can keep the ball moving and tire out the ageing Milan
players .Celtic and Bayern have both drawn at the SanSiro and Milan have ran out of steam in the final 20 mins of games in Europe lately so Utd a better side than either of these 2 can stage a granstand finish.

Most of my Liverpool mates are terrified of a Utd win tonight as they are still on coarse for the treble and that would be enough to make a scouser jump in the mersey

Both teams to score? Havent got price at hand but this seems a worthy bet tonight.

Milan must score, doesnt mean they will of course, but with their midfield and Uniteds defensive crisis they will surely be giving a few chances.

We all know what an attacking threat Man Utd are like. This game suits them to a tee where they can play the counter attacking style which they do better than anyone around.

Seems decent to me anyways depending on the odds.

Re: Champions League semi's 01-02 May

I'm hoping its a better game than last night but i'm looking thro blue tinted glassess and was gutted and the negativity from Chelsea.

Anyway onto tonight. I can see AC Milan trapping very well and taking the game to Man Utd straight away and I hope they get an early goal cause that would open the game out early doors and i think then it would be a very very great spectacle.............

Oh I totlay disagree with you mate, the refs were horrid, the only warrnings sanctioned on players who had no cards, the offsides, the goal that was perfectly leagal in extra time etc. so many mistakes, just terrible refereeing i felt..

How good have Milan been ?

How poor have Man Utd been ?

I've done 2-0 to Milan but I can't see there not being anymore goals. (see bets thread).

SAF will go through them like a does of the runs and they'll need to improve and I think they will but next goal is cruical. Milan score game set and match but if Man Utd get it then will AC shit their breeks like they did against Liverpool.

Still all to play for.

C'MON MILAN (and no more goals )

I've never seen Man U play as badly for a long while, they need a miracle to turn this around and I cannot recall Carricks name being mentioned once in the first half, at the moment its like men against boys.

Re: Champions League semi's 01-02 May

Andy Gray has just mentioned what i was thinking to myself earlier, Man U are missing a decent captain like keane who can dish orders and bollockings out.
Giggs aint Captain material but theres not a single Man u player on that pitch that could fill that role either ,which sums up what they are lacking.
