I like bits of it, others are just stock Eurovision fare. The start is interesting - the verses a bit of a letdown, but it's chanty, its got English verses in there, and its got plenty of cyber babble going on - one of the most talked about entries so far. Contender for the shortlist.
On 2nd listen its deffo got the potential as a winner - its got the 'current' sound of Western pop - bit of Rihanna type sound in there, its got the Eastern Euro sound, and as you say, its catchy enough.
Armenia at 7s on Betfair, joint favourites with the Irish(Ukraine and Russia too.) From that pair I know which song I'd much rather be on!
Bloody hell, by the looks of things she was lip-synching at the Armenian National Selection show, which means there ain't a live performance available. That's ridiculous, she might be dreadful and given that this is a tricky song to pull off it's difficult to form much of an opinion on the price given that her ability will make or break this one.
And given that its market favourite, that makes every price a bit of a problem!
ON the top 4 market its Armenia and Ukraine doing all the trading, both are virtually evens to make the top 4, I'm sure youd get a better EW price than that with the high street bookies
I can sort of understand with the Ukrainian song given that the videos available are of a live performance where she shows she can pull off the song, but backing this at that price without hearing her live is Murray Mental.
Top 4 song, but the last few years have shown how important live vocals are.
I'm looking to get my opening position on the market early, considering either backing this or laying Ireland, if she can sing live the price will come in at least a little bit IMO and the Irish song is going to completely bomb on the night, but I'm not sure if I want to wait that long to see my first green.
Haha, just an opinion for now Spacecat, but I wouldn't touch the Armenia price just yet. It won't improve much under 6.00, nothing ever really does for the Eurovision - usually just a bunch of around 4 songs in the 6.00-10.00 region, and this isnt that much better than the rest to suggest that this year will be any different.
I don't think it will even move much if a brilliant live performance comes to light, as people tend to smash into the price regardless, simply based on a recording, but I'll be looking to get on board this if she's good.
So yeah, if you fancy opening up the book then a lay of Ireland at anywhere under 12s or so looks handy. It's price came right in on the back of punters getting caught up in the hype, nothing to do with it actually being popular, and Europe(the bit outside the UK and Ire) wont have anything to do with that song IMO.
First poll I've seen so far which had around 1500 votes had Ireland at 1%(Armenia lead with 20%) - altho polls are funny things in Eurovision land.
I can just see the table with that Turkey thing on it looking very very small come the night, with nothing but an annoying voice that most of Europe may not even understand as English to back it up, it wont do anything except crash, it might not even get past the semis.
I think I'll lay it eventually, but I'd rather start off with a back bet!
bloody hell first listen to this. Nice ethnic chants and drums to begin. got the ingerdiants so far. Ounce its this shitty rnb sound. Hold on though its dancy. let me see it. Nah i dont like it. She cant sing. the song is quite 1 dimensional too. It has the ingrediants but nope nope nope
