Re: France

Classic, lovely stuff from the French as per usual.

That's bizarre, that backing track is annoyingly brilliant. Won't do particularly well cos France never do but they always like to try different stuff, hats off boys.

Re: France

I'm with you on this one Spacecat, I reckon it's fantastic. That backing track is brilliant.

Not totally hated no, I guess its just the psychology of disliking/not helping the powerful countries. The big 4 never get any help - I guess its just not as romantic as giving your vote to a little country. 2007, UK 2nd last, France 3rd last, Spain 5th last, Germany 6th last.

Having said that, this is an original entry, not much in previous years to judge it against, and if one of the big four were ever to go close again it would have to be with something completely different.

Probably not this, but in terms of the huge outsiders, I'd much rather chance my arm at this than some bland garbage - the fact that the German entry(complete non-event of a song and can't sing to boot) is trading lower is a disrace.

I'm sure you'd get 300+ on this if you ask nicely.

Re: France

no matter the level of gambler, nobodies going to tie up over a grand of their cash for the sake of my fiver..!

if im going to back a huge price id rather it be one that could potentially perform well at the semis, which of course france arent going to be taking part in

Live performance there.

It's just all too French really, that's the genius of it and its downfall, as everyone hates the French and aren't about to endorse 50 years of stupid laughs and bad body odour with a vote on Euros night.

Re: France

I like this one, but being the big four I don't know?

That has to be the first French one I have liked in about 10 years.

Re: France

I'd be interested to see where France have finished in this last few years. I'll look out the results if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Re: France

You can't say I didn't give you time.

Was just looking at this bet on bet365:

Eurovision Final - Who will Finish Top of Big 4
Spain 1.36
France 5.50
Germany 8.00
United Kingdom 11.00

I think I've made it clear how much I hate Spain. 1.36! You bastards! Seriously. I could kill that Spanish guy. Germany, pretty piss poor Spice Girls type group who are probably even worse singers. And UK, bah-land. Andy and his bad bland band from bah land.

Suppose I better check out those stats you were all so eager to supply me with.

Re: France

That market must be a 2 horse race...Germany and the UK are bad enough on their own without having to go 2nd and 4th...bad draws.

Stats:

'03 18th (Spain 8th)
'04 15th (Spain 10th)
'05 23rd(Spain 21st)
'06 22nd (Spain 21st)
'07 22nd(Spain 20th)

Oh and if you like this song, I'd recommend that you don't look at the live version

Re: France

Thats a good bet MP, for the French I mean, for me this is the best tune in the competition and has been the only one I've listened to without the bloody comp in mind.

5/1 to back on BF, has to be worth a shot, no way all those Eastern block countries will go for it? Nobody in the west will, if they do I'll vote Scotland out of the EU first chance I get !
