Advice please for new bettor.

Hi everyone,

I’m new on here. I've been thinking about starting online betting for a while, but need some advice. My ex-boyfriend used to do it a lot and I still get his post sometimes from the bookies making offers. He used to use a site to compare all the bookmakers before placing his bets, is that the best thing to do, or just stick with one bookmaker, do they give benefits for regular punters??? He used shitpunter.com, but that was a couple of years ago and I’m wondering if someone can recommend any others, and give me general hints and tips for a newby!

Looking for some advice, please????

Hope you're a female then . Otherwise you won't get any advice

Just joking... welcome to TDP

About your question - well I think every serious punter will agree with me - you SHOULD have accounts with more than one bookie. Sometimes the odds difference is significant and you have to take the best offer.
My advice is to open account with several bookies known as the best in the online betting world:
(these are the ones I prefer)

Bet365
Paddy Power
Expekt
bet-at-home

will hill
vcbet
10 bet
Sportingbet

And at least one betting exchange (betfair).

There are numerous web sites for odds comparison, I use the following
UEFA Champions League | NBA | BetBrain.com Sports Betting Odds | BetBrain.com :*
and
OddsOddsOdds.Com - get the best odds! // Quotenvergleich / Odds Comparison

Welcome to TDP

Engineer is right in that you should always have as many online accounts as possible as it is so important that you get the best price possible when placing your bets.

I have never found that the bookies that i use the most giving me free bets etc due to my loyalty to them. Infact i find the bookies online that i use less keep sending me mail offering me free bets trying to entice me back.

Free Bets | Online Betting | Premiership Football | Football | Soccer | Horse Racing | Casino| Poker| Sports Betting| Football Betting

Lots of free bets there for you courtesy of TDP.

Odds Comparison - Compare 100s of bookmaker odds, betting odds is a website i have always used for comparing odds at different places.

Hope this helps

My four golden rules would be

1. Never back short priced away teams

2. Always seek out the bookie with the best price

3. Never back odds on horses

4. Never send naked photographs of yourself to Kiko.

Hope this helps

Hi Doublejd, Maybe I can add to the sound advice you've received already.
Put xxxxxxx.com into your browser. There's a wealth of wonderful information and advice there for the taking. However click-on Matched Betting and subscribe to the free newsletter. You'll be surprised how much is being given away in free bets by the bookies. Furthermore, Darren Power who runs the site will show you how to match the Free Bets being given so that you'll make a profit no matterwhat the results are. Sounds too good to be true? Well it isn't. Give it a try.

Re: Advice please for new bettor.

First i would like to thank everyone who replied to my question - but mostly to engineer and kiko. A couple of points;

1 - yes i am female!!!

2 - I had no intentions of sending ANY tyoe of photos to kiko - or anone else i may meet on this forum - sorry

I had a look at most of the recommended places, and found many sites i like - i have used quite a few since my last post. My favourites (which i would like to pass on to other new bettors) are as follows;

EDIT ....Really not relevant

Thanks again - and i'll pop back again soon and update you all how i am getting on.

Doublejd x

Re: Advice please for new bettor.

Sorry Double JD but I've taken your links out. The first ones because I suspect that everyone in the world has already heard of those bookies apart from possibly some yet undiscovered tribe in the amazonian rain forest. The second because it smacks of blatent spamming tactics.

Sorry if this offends you in any way but I suspect that it probably won't.

I'd be happy to hear any other thoughts that you might have on gambling or even just life in general (in general chat) and if you want to keep popping in every week you'll find yourself more than welcome
