Vote For TDP Default Forum Theme

maybe the new default could be the best bits of them all. I'll go and make up a lux forum in traditional TDP colours later.

Bottom left of forum Dave if you fancy a wee flick through them and maybe tell us what you think TDP should have as it's default forum. Remember it's not what you like (it's the blonde bits Dan) best for you but what you think would be widely accepted as being the best to look at and ...ah im talking shit here aint i. Aye anyhow we'll sort it out. I was planning on doing it friday night after the aussie bets are on. Be ok for saturday and then thats it. finished. no more. We've even worked out how to get around the 'broken' forums etc. the affils are all in order after last night. Just getting us linked on other sites ad then i think i can relax a bit.

aye thats my fav too Winrew and i aint trying to suck up and seem more human As mentioned somewhere the buttons look like theyve been designed individualy by 15 differant people who had no contact with each other whilst making them. I cant believe how bad they turned out truth be told. A few lessons to be learnt i think.

It's nice and slim on the forum index too. seem to be able to see more of the forum which a like. I might actually start using another for a bit. I suppose i should. Ok ill go sport somethig for a while and see how i feel before casting my vorte later this week (not tomorrow night at 8pm as previously indicated )

i added the wee 'card' icons to it on the left of the forum index. I hade to lighten that bit to blend them in. I dont know if i like them. if anyone has any wee icons or pics or idea etc then let us know and we'll work on it and sort it out

Does anyone know the default theme? I cant tell anymore. Dopes anyone not change themese etc and haveyou still got the same theme as ever? Thanks

the chrome red one (1 up from mech) has just too small a text to be considered. i cnt be arsed fartiong about with the text. the text needs to be good from the off that sthe point of this exercise

is anyone getting that its just the extended forums (red and black) are the only ones showing the Forum desc and last post on the forum index in an orderly fashion. All the rest are higglty pigglty to me. all over the place. i cont like it. It ruins every chance its got with me from the off truth be told. Cant have it looking like that. I think RC might have had the prob last week. Dont worry all the themes are still here on my comp. im away to fart a bout with them to see if i can get some nice. default1 is my fav but thats the same too. All over the place

fcuk i dont know whats going on anymore with the themes. I give up. i'll wat till i can get some buttons uploaded etc and sort it out then. We'll be ok. Lots of good work the last few nights. We've even been buying legal software. wonders will never cease. we've sold out

Which ever on is styleid=1 .. that's the one I like the best, but I'm not sure what it's called. Very smart though.

k no probs folks. I'll just make au a FIXED widthn ew default one tonight then and also offer the other themes that folks have mentioned they like. deleted them all and starting again

funny enough it's the moderators column thats kicking things out for most templates. i havent checked to see why extended red doesnt throw it out. I will the now tho

well it is the mod coloum thats throwing things out. The mod column on Extended Red is pretty big and thats why it doesnt affect anything. Prob withthat though is the last thread letter count for the width is set ral low and the last thread is 'breaking' the forum lines. i can fix that. Ok so our prob is now the mod coloum. In the grand scheme of things it has to go. Well that or else being limited to what we can use as a base for default and people always having uneven looking forum index's.

Actually also we would have to comprimise on the amount of space in the Last Post column. A problem we have had since turning on the mod column. I'm gonna have to work wuith something so i'm going for the mod of forum turned off. Maybe it wasnt a great dea all in. No offence meant to folks. I can put the 'modded by' bit on the left if folks want it. I'll leave it with Mickeypaul to discuss it but for now im gonna turn it off an then make the best looking default theme that i can

bah default forum has no posts coloumn. i cant just turn it off on particular themes. Also when i change the size of the 'last post' column it ONLY changes the default (old style) theme and not the other ones. Some would say just give up komp we're quite happy with the old theme but i can't. I refuse to just 'make do' as we've been 'making do' since we opened TDP. Need something solid and nice.

dont worry about me folks im just thinking out loud. I'm setting so as the mod column aint showing for now and i will look into other ways to bring it back which there will be. everything is fine with 'last forum' being set at 37 letters (ill recheck default theme though) and the text llenth for forum desc is-

Aye 37 is ok for default (old style) too. I'll speak to slick about putting the POSTS (or threads) coloum back. Right so thats that really. Whats next? errrrr...upload a few more styles for folks, look at the mod column and then start work on a new default one. I aint the cleverest at doing forum themes and it will probably need a bit of Mickey's delicate touch to it. I know i will go to him all proud of my effort and he'll snigger at it and it will dawn on me in time of the madness that was going on whilst i tried to make it but at least that will be it done.
