The Self Improvement Thread

I thought maybe it would be an idea to have a thread where people can look at themselves, see their failings and look at ways that they can improve themselves and chart their progress.

I need to

- stop being avoidant. Read pm's, emails, answer phones and even the door with joy.

-stop drinking as soon as i have enough money to drink

-Take up things like skydiving and moutain climbing


bah this is getting ridiculas. anyhow one year on i will see my self improvement. I think as long as i play winning poker then maybe i dont have to learn any of the above.

anyone else got some things they NEED to do?

all i can say Nick is ythat finding me here talking to you on a wednesday night is enough for me to want to go and do sometihng else. your a poultice arent you? Lets hae look at what your offering. god this will be fun

1 i aint a bully just a realist. i dont like to talk about things that aint to do with what we are talking about. im also intolrable as 'hey why not'.

all you need to do nick is stop thinking that everyone likes to listen to your songs and that there is no point in trying to bring down a society that just isnt there.

i was reading about a fella that went up in a helium balloon oin the 50's to way above the stratosphere. He jumped out the balooon and free falled 50,000 miles. it took him 3 minurtes to land on the earth. man that must make you feel alive

I was thinking of starting a list..."things to do before your 30" but thats in less than a year, and I dont have the money or the time to stat doing any of them.

I remember thinking I would be in a very diffrent place when I got to 30, god 30 was dead dead old to me at one time. Now im almost upon it I think turning 30 is well depressing.

I was depressed at turning 30 Lian. Turning 40, and then 50, wasn't such a big deal.
Take it from me (54 now) 30 is still very young. Hell, my old dad's 82 and doing a computer course, and got done for doing 130 mph when he was 80.

I'v started a day release HNC this week - not really looking forward to some parts of it (essays etc) but it is exactly like being back at school (well technically you are).

Luckily enough the class is full of 'mature' students so I'm not standing out like a spare prick

Listen to yourself Liana. It's still young? No it bloody isn't and thinking 30 is still young is one of the sure signs that you're turning into an old woman.

Soon you'll be hearing yourself say "so and so died last week and he was only 70".
