Winning big pots is what it's all about to me. I dont care about no stinking 3 buck tournament win thats probably been played by a poof by the rules. I want to know about white knuckle big rock and roll pots where people had something to lose.

I don't have a big pot hand to post but i will and if you've got any hands that nearly made you shit your breeks then feel free to let us know on the big pot thead.

Looks to be the ultimate in gtting screwed over Beanie. Let's look at it from nrg1verk's perspecive so as i can understand it better...

a low suited connector (which ive been throwing away lately but just started playing again, ive discovered limping) casual as you like..call call call......Flop........4567 of Hearts.....interesting...4's a worry but not too much of a worry. Unlucky mate. Of all the cards to come up against etc. Did you do what i do Beanie and look and wonder why the chips arent coming over to you when the cards are revealed?

He played it pretty textbook to be honest. I could have poss turned up the heat after the fella went all in on the flop, although the pot was being built nicely and that's all just hindsight now.

8h was a nightmare card on the turn and I could be fairly certain he'd hit whatever he needed to there(although not the straight flush ffs!) so just check it there to see what he does. His check is a bit strange, and makes me doubt the straight or the flush again...could this be 55 setting a rather horrible/wierd trap?

If he has hit his straight or flush then he's not gonna call my river bet, and overall I'm a bit lost after the turn, but meh, I've got quads and I'm not about to check the river with them or spend any time mulling it over. As I throw my chips in I console myself with the fact that altho I'm lost for what he has, I'm gonna win a sweet little pot anyway and I can go through it to my heart's conten...hearts...hearts...two of them...ha ha he's only got a flu...no wait...6...7...ha ha he's only got stra...ha ha...wait a sec...ha...*cough*...*THUD*(as Mickey would say.) sorry for laughing Beanie but that was brilliant. The grim reality of the 'ooooohh nooooooooo he can't have' coming out. As you say when your sitting with quads it's easy to not think at all what anyone else has. Your in your own wee quad heaven and it's all just a case of how much your gonna win.

i suppose its the way of things Alex. I even quite enjoy getting screwed over at times as it keeps my feet on the ground. I had a cracker the other night Alex. J10 in my hand and a cheeky wee fcuker upagainst me. Every hand a person played he had to comment rightly or wrongly on it. I was just imagining some 15yr old playing with his dads credit card after fast reading a book on poker.

anyhow the flop's JJ10 and the annoying fcuker is going on about 'how he has trapped me' i do a nice limp style raise on the turn and he laughs 'is that supposed to be a bluff' and announces his AJ hand. there was another 2 all in with us (fcuk knows what they had come to think of it) and when the hands turn he must have went white when he saw what just took 95% of his chips. I think he learnt a small lesson that game and i was glad i was the one that dished it out.
