Good luck in this sir auron.

Excuse my ignorance but what are APAT tournaments and how did you qualify (or is it a buy in on the day) ?

Good luck Alan, I am waiting and may play the one for the Scottish in April time in Edinburgh. Don't know if I'll play any other live ones. Will wait and see if I feel like a world beater.

Re: APAT regional tournaments

APAT is Amateur Poker Association & Tour Colbro. You pay a membership fee (it is actually free now I see) and there is points for online and live games. All reasonably priced.

Online this year is Blue Sq, last year it was Pokerstars.

I played in the Scottish leg last year which cost me £75. This year you can play cheaper live games to qualify along with online qualifying which was there last year.

It is a great live game, very friendly for beginners.

All info is here on their website.

Thanks both.

I've seen threads elsewhere and wondered what it was.

Re: APAT regional tournaments

all i can say is i wasnt the 1st one out
there were only 25 runners including myself, and i also met up with jonathan woodfield (inside poker razz winner who i met in vegas) who was looking well............
1st player out lost big with pocket aces...i was second out,i had a/q with q/rag/rag and pushed to steal the pot of 1k,,oooops i lost to pocket kings.
still always next month.
we had to self deal to start with, until there was only 2 tables then the dealers would come into it,so only 3 places would qualify with such low numbers.

Sounds like you had a cold deck there.

How is your son doing anyway. Hope he is recovering from his broken leg ok. Any news of when he will be out of hospital?
