Re: Virgin Festival of Poker

So it was you was it yen-sid !!

There I was quietly minding my own business when the MC Tikay asked me to make myself known. Next thing I know a camera appears behind my back with the red light showing so I knew there's no escape.

Thanks for all the interest.

Unfortunatley I busted out in 31st - four short of the money. Basically at the start of today most of the players were bunched together with similarish stack sizes and even though I was mid position I did not have much to play with with each round costing 4000 chips. There was lots of action in the first 30-40 mins and unfortunately i had a QQ on the big blind and called a shortish stack all-in who had AA which left me with half my stack.

All I could do then was nurse the stack and hope for something. Eventually the blinds were 2000-4000 with 200 antes but I was card dead nearly all the time. Not even a suited connector. Eventually I was down to 12000 on the big blind and faced a raise and should really have called as I had the odds to do so but tamely folded my 3,5. Next hand was an A5 on my small blind and the same person raised again so I called and was confident I would be ahead. He had 89 suited but got a 9 on the river so I was gone.

On reflection the only regret I have is folding that 3,5 and I was happy enough with the way things went. I'll try to do a bigger write up later. I can say though that I am more disappointed with not winning rather than not making the money having got so far but maybe another day.

Good luck sir, enjoy the weekend.

Yes thanks for the well wishes Ed

TBH I forgot there were TDP's there otherwise I would have made a point of finding you to say hi.

My weekend was pretty predictable - had a drink, couldn't see my cards, donked out and then had some more drink.

Ed did you know your wee rodent friend has a drinking problem?

I asked for an update on you Brian over on AWOP but got nothing back.

As for wishing folks luck we only think to wish luck to people we know will be on here to read them. You're not exactly a regular are you Bri?

Sounds like you had fun though. As for mole, he learnt from the best.

Yes, he's a disgrace, don't know where he gets that kind of behaviour.

I hate it Dan dan - I've only watched the clip about 250 times

I started to write a report on the weekend and got up to about 5 pages and had still only got the dinner break on day 1. I don't know if I'll ever finish it as the best stuff happened after that.

I'll put some sort of edited version up later
