Re: WPT Championship Live Updates

Brilliant stuff Mr M. Gus is the boy aint he? He can catch the cards but he's a class to himself. I saw him on Poker After Dark and i swear he was out his head on drugs. Playing with Tony G and some nice woman with bigger than you thought knockers.

I thought the Tran's were all related Mr M. Ive a feeling that they aint though. I'll go get the latest. When does it finish?

Yeah. A WPT Donkament wouldnt be a WPT Donkament w/out gus kicking ass really. Wonder if he can hold onto it until the final at least. He's certainly not the type to hang around anyway, it will be going into action tonight for sure .

Tom Dwans a good internet pro left into the top 10 so I hope he does all right. Victor busted before the money

Re: WPT Championship Live Updates

He is pretty fun to watch komp. Hes called "broski" on stars and I can remember railing him in a WCOOP event (world championship of online poker) a year or two ago. Honest to god he literally raised every hand (he had the chiplead at this point). If someone raised before him he just reraised them. The entire table tilted and eventually when someone rereraised him all in hed call w AQ and they would have A6o .

He cant stay away from cash games tho, frequently plays in the highest stake ones online and frequently does his bollocks.

Hopefully a FT beckons for Gus but weve seen him bust out in these spots before well before that, as Jez says he wont be waiting around and he'll probably play a 4m pot with Cory Carroll first hand. If Carlsberg made balls theyd be as big as Gus's.

We're not sure when all the money went into the pot, but it was either preflop or on the flop. This was the situation:

Board: 1063

Men Nguyen: Q10
Tom McCormick: A2

Nguyen had a pair of tens with a flush draw, while McCormick had an overcard with a higher flush draw.

The turn card was the A, and McCormick takes the lead with a pair of aces. Nguyen needs a queen or a ten to stay alive.

The river card is the Q. This is what caused Nguyen to yell, "Queen, baby!" And then his now infamous line (at least to those in the room), "Suck and re-suck, baby!"

Men Nguyen wins the hand, doubling to about 800,000 in chips. Tom McCormick drops down to about 250,000.
"Suck and re-suck, baby!"

Hansen still chip leader, Robert Mizrachi the big mover so far today, into 2nd. David Chiu (who once destroyed me on the $5/$10 full tilt omaha hi/lo tables) looking good in 4th. Jon Kalmar still hanging on nicely in 11th.

After some unknown preflop action, Andy Black moves all in for 245,000 more from the button. Gus Hansen considers the call from under the gun, counting out the amount of the call to see how it would damage his stack.

Hansen finally calls, showing KJ. Black dominates him with AJ.

Black saw that he dominated Hansen, but in his excitement, misread their shared kicker. He thought Hansen needed a jack to bust him. (Hansen was actually looking for a king.)

The flop brought two jacks, and Black got up out of his chair, ready to leave. The final board showed JJ6210, and Black walked over to a few players to shake their hands, not realizing that the dealer was pushing the pot to his now empty seat.

Kenny Tran asks Black what he's doing, and points out that he won the pot. Black looks at his seat, sees the pile of chips, and says, "Oh, I won?" His demeanor doesn't change much, though he smiles as he walks over to a friend on the rail.
@ Black thinking he'd lost. Pretty loose call from Gus there.

Re: WPT Championship Live Updates

Just hoping Blacks got a small/medium pair innit. Thats what Gus is all about talking himself into making calls when someones all in.

Quote:
T.J. Cloutier raises from early position to 40,000, and Gus Hansen calls from the big blind. The flop comes 763, Hansen checks, Cloutier bets 100,000, Hansen thinks for about a minute before raising to 500,000, and Cloutier quickly says, "I'm all in."

Hansen pauses for a moment before he calls with 63 for two pair. Cloutier shows 88 for an overpair. Cloutier needs to improve or he's out.

The turn is the A, the river is the 10, and Gus Hansen wins the pot with two pair, sixes and threes, building his chipleading stack to 2.9 million.

T.J. Cloutier is eliminated in 34th place, earning $65,955. As he leaves, he can't help but tell several people how Gus Hansen called a preflop raise with 6-3 offsuit and snapped him off by flopping two pair.
I see Gus is in il play every hand cos ive got tons of chips mode Cloutier will batter him later in the royal rumble for that though but you gota roll with the punches

Re: WPT Championship Live Updates

This is what I was talking about with Gus calling with these sorts of hands (KJ again) and just hoping they have smaller pairs etc. He does it all the time

Quote:
Gus Hansen raises to 65,000 from the cutoff and Men Nguyen moves all in for 575,000 from the small blind. After a few minutes in thought, Hansen calls and shows KJ. Nguyen turns over 64 and the board comes 1097810 to send him home in 26th place.
Hes sending them all packing at the moment, whos the masta now bitch!

Re: WPT Championship Live Updates

Man this is brilliant. at Jezza and his Donkment comment. He's a lucky c*nt but he's the last man you want to have a big stack at your table. He must be right in his element. As you said Jezza he can tilt a full table and i would be one of his hapless victims no doubt. I would have went out like TJ Cloutier i think. I would have hated Gus too. Just shows you that he can afford to call with anything as he knows when he hits he's gonna get all iof someones stack. I suppose he gets a lot of people copying his style and that aint too bad for me playing $10 tables. they aint Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen vs. Jonathan Kalmar

Jonathan Kalmar raises from early position to 60,000, and Gus Hansen reraises from middle position to 202,000. Kalmar only has 375,000 behind, and he smiles as he studies Hansen for a minute. Kalmar folds A-J face up, and Hansen lets out a slow "Wow!"

Kalmar is wearing a Ladbrokes patch, and Hansen says, "There are some tight players at Ladbrokes. Tight players."

After the hand, Kalmar has about 375,000, while Hansen leads the remaining 22 players with about 3.87 million.

Another Big Chop: Gus Hansen vs. Jonathan Kalmar
