For anyone wondering who he is or why I mention him, he came 5th in last years wsop main event ft netting over 1m. But me and Jez know him best from when he came 3rd in the main event on the ladbrokes poker cruise.

Wonder if therell be any betting for this available anywhere like their always is for the wsop events.

With the final board showing 87659 (a nine-high straight on the board with three spades), Gus Hansen bets 250,000 from the big blind, and Michael Gracz moves all in for about 755,000 from under the gun.

Hansen tanks for about five minutes, considering the situation, and a crowd gathers around the table to sweat the action. Gus talks himself through the hand a bit, but not really loud enough for the crowd to hear.

Hansen finally calls, and Gracz says, "Jack of hearts, ten of spades," and turns over exactly that -- J10. He rivered a jack-high straight to beat the board.

Hansen mucks, and Gracz takes the pot, doubling his stack to about 1.7 million.

Interesting hand there, shame it doesnt review the whole hand and what went on. Gus must have a 10 there then and he must know the other guy has at least that moving all in for a callable sum, so hes calling 500k to make 600k back (a split of the 1.2m in the pot). Is it odds on he has J10 or a flush rather than a bare 10 is the question.

All these live numpties are well just numpties, saying live is a different game etc.. the online guys are soooo much better at the game, its just a question of adapting and the better ones will do that easily.

I think its impossible to judge who is the best player in the world, but if i had to choose someone as a best guess it would be him.

Think im playing the ME of the gukpt thats in town atm, thats televised apparentley, played a few events so far, live pokers different from what i remember since i played last year, lottt more nittier. Everyones educated somewhat.

Well for sure the FT of 6 players will be televised cos this is a world poker tour event but I dont think any of the rest ever does get shown. They quite often turn it into a donkamentfest when it gets to the last 3 or 4 as well so its just exciting if a bit lame.

Do you reckon pot odds matter so much in mtts, other factors come into it a lot of the time?

So his range is J10, flush, 10 or bluff. With J10 and flush more likely to push, a 10 would probbaly just call? And then theres a bluff, its a bad call probably.

Hand #16 - Michael Gracz has the button in seat 9, Gus Hansen raises under the gun to 98,000, David Tran calls from early position, and David Chiu calls from the big blind. The flop comes J64, Chiu bets 171,000, and Hansen says that he'll raise it to half of Chiu's stack. It's determined to be a total of 526,000, and Tran folds. Chiu moves all in, and Hansen calls with AJ for a pair of jacks, ace kicker. Chiu shows KJ, and he's dominated with a pair of jacks, king kicker. Chiu needs a king or something runner-runner to survive.

The turn is -- the K! Chiu turns two pair to take the lead, and now Hansen needs an ace on the river to bust Chiu.

The river card is the 8, and David Chiu doubles up with two pair, kings and jacks, to about 2.16 million. Gus Hansen drops down to about 2.6 million.

Hansen would have had a fat chiplead if that held up, pretty sick

Hand #2 - Karga Holt has the button in seat 1, Robert Mizrachi raises from late position to 85,000, Andy Black moves all in from the big blind for 403,000, and Mizrachi tanks for about two minutes before he calls with J9. Black shows AA, and he's a big favorite to double up here.

The flop comes 10106, and Mizrachi needs something runner-runner to bust Black. The turn card is the 7, and Mizrachi picks up a gutshot straight draw, needing an eight.

The river card is -- the 8!

Robert Mizrachi catches a jack-high straight to win the pot, building his stack to about 1.5 million.

Andy Black is painfully eliminated in 16th place, earning $105,525.

Hand #10 - Karga Holt has the button in seat 1, and everyone folds to David Chiu in the small blind, who folds 94 face up. Gus Hansen gets a walk in the big blind.

The flop comes 432, Hansen checks, Tran bets 200,000, Hansen check-raises to 1.1 million, Tran moves all in, and Hansen calls with AA for a pair of aces with a gutshot straight draw. Tran shows Q4 for a pair of fours, and he'll need to improve to survive.

The turn is the K, the river is the J, and Gus Hansen wins the pot with his pocket aces.
